SACRAMENTO Martha Mitchell West, 85, died recently.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Ada Mitchell; her husband, Clyde “Gene” West; a grandson, Dannie Downs, Jr.; a sister, Mary Kokulak; and a brother, Robert C. Mitchell.
Survivors include a son, Michael West of Sacramento; four daughters, Barbara Wiggins and Ada McDowell, both of Sacramento, Janice Downs of Richland, Ind. and Norma Everly of Island; three sisters, Catherine Howard of Island, Ora Harrison of Sacramento and Rena Guarnaccia of New York; two brothers, Marion Mitchell of Evansville and James Mitchell of Detroit, Mich.; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 25 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Nov. 18 at the Sacramento Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Sacramento. Burial will follow in the Sacramento Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery. Visitation will be held after 5 p.m. Nov. 17 and after 8 a.m. Nov. 18 at Tucker Memorial Chapel in Sacramento. Mrs. West will lie in state at the church from noon until funeral time Nov. 18.
Expressions of sympathy can be made in the form of donations to Hospice or the Sacramento Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Joseph Delmer Snodgrass
Joseph Delmer Snodgrass, 63, died Monday, Nov. 7, 2005 at Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tenn.
Born in Muhlenberg County Sept. 29, 1942, he was a sawmill worker and of the Holiness faith. He was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Robert Lee Snodgrass in 1996.
Survivors include his wife, Josie King Snodgrass; three sons, Michael Snodgrass, Matthew Snodgrass and Noah Craft, all of Lewisburg, Tenn.; two daughters, Stacey Mealer of Lewisburg, Tenn. and Josie Ross of Calif.; three sisters, Shirley Markwell of Lewisburg, Ky., Nell Mguiar of Auburn, Ky. and Stella Douglas of McHenry, Ky. and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Nov. 10 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Penrod officiating. Burial followed in Fairmount Cemetery in Central City.
Callie Louro Mayes Wells
MADISONVILLE - Callie Louro Mayes Wells, 86, died Monday, Nov. 7, 2005 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville after a lengthy illness.
Born in Muhlenberg County Oct. 2, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Noah Vince Mayes and Bunnie Wells Mayes. She was a homemaker and a member of the Joines Chapel General Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carel D. “Yellow Jacket” Wells in Jan. 2001 and two sons, David Wells in 1995 and Danny Wells in 1997.
Survivors include three sons, Elton “Slim” Wells of Madisonville, William N. “Bill” Wells of Kirkmansville, Ky. and Darrell W. Wells of Owensboro; three daughters, Emily McCombs of Nashville, Tenn., Dee Powell of Hopkinsville and Linda Alexander of Crofton, Ky.; 16 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Nov. 10 at Joines Chapel Church with the Rev. Gene Richard officiating. Burial followed in Joines Chapel Cemetery. Gary’s Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Dora Veola “Granny” Ford
EARLINGTON - Dora Veola Williams Ford, 87, died Monday, Nov. 7, 2005 at her residence.
Born in Todd County July 28, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Dave and Almira Williams. She was a homemaker and a member of Joines Chapel Church in Clifty. She was preceded in death by her husband, Washie Curtis Ford in 1982; a son, Delbert Ford; a step daughter, Neomi Cornell; two brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include three daughters, Kay Johnson of Rockville, Md., Cynthia Laughary of Earlington and Leona Mae Groves of Elkton; two sons, Alvis Ford of Greenville and Elmer Ford of Madisonville; two sisters, Billie Crafton of Clifty and Rutha Cunningham of Athens, Ala.; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; several great great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Nov. 11 at Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington with the Rev. Johnny Cunningham officiating. Burial followed in Joines Chapel Cemetery in Clifty. Expressions of sympathy can be made to Green River Hospice.
Danny Joe Dukes
GREENVILLE - Danny Joe Dukes, 48, died Sunday, Nov. 6, 2005 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Lake County, Ind. Jan. 19, 1957, he was a computer technician.
Survivors include his wife, Sheryl Stebbins Dukes; four daughters, Kara Dukes, Donna Dukes, Danna Dukes and Danielle Dukes; four step daughters, Melisa Hunter, Ashley Blakeley, Lacey Hoch and Tiara Hankins; two step sons, Joey Hoch and Roger Taylors; his father, Lendell Dukes; two brothers, Lendel Dukes and Mark Dukes and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Nov. 9 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Leroy Rearden officiating.
Doris A. Camplin
GREENVILLE - Doris A. Camplin, 77, died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2005 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Muhlenberg County Dec. 2, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Horace Buchanan and Vera Ruth Bivins Buchanan. She was a homemaker and a member of the Jehovah’s Witness of Central City. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Grant in 2004.
Survivors include a son, Jan M. (Jan) Camplin of Greenville and two sisters, Jean Graham of Louisville and Betty Todd of Greenville.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Nov. 11 at Gary’s Funeral Home with Mr. Ron Cary officiating. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville.
Melva Jean “Bobbe” Coleman
GREENVILLE - Melva Jean “Bobbe” Coleman, 75, died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2005 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital after a short illness.
Born in Greenville Aug. 13, 1930, she was the daughter of the late William Brank Smith and Marie “Gee Gee” Crisp Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of Second Baptist Church in Greenville.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Bobby Lloyd Coleman; a daughter, Theresa (Morris) Adkins of Greenville; a sister, Doris Hart of Bradenton, Fla.; two grandchildren, Marcus (Amy) Adkins of Greenville and Kellye Adkins of Madisonville; two great grandchildren, Logan Adkins and Kendall Adkins; a niece, Pam DeNeen and two nephews, Larry Hart and Mike Hart.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Nov. 11 at Oak Grove Cemetery in Depoy with the Rev. Rob Gwaltney officiating. Gary’s Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Shirley L. Cartwright
HAMMOND, IND - Shirley L. Cartwright, 69, died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2005.
Born in Muhlenberg County June 23, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Nancy Drake Brumley. She was a member and a diligent worker at Hessville Church of Christ in Hessville, Ind. She was preceded in death by a son, Gregory; two sisters and a brother.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Vermont Cartwright; a daughter, Debby Kukula of Hessville, Ind.; a son, Norman Cartwright of Scottsville, Ky.; seven sisters, Elsie Jackson, Ruby Smith, Sarah Piper, Wilma Stanley, Barbara Beliles, Donna Hardison and Julia Mercer, all of Belton and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Nov. 13 at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home with Mr. Bill White officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Penrod.
Rosie P. Revelette
GREENVILLE - Rosie P. Revelette, 67, died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005 at her residence.
Born in Muhlenberg County Aug. 23, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Lucy Pearson. She worked at G.E. for 12 years and at Sumitoma for nine years and was a member of Hazel Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Maurice Revelette; a son, Kevin Revelette of Greenville; a daughter, Kim Revelette of Greenville; a brother, Lonnie “Hank” Pearson of Mt. Juliet, Tenn. and a granddaughter, Whitleigh Revelette of Greenville.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Nov. 12 at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Chaney officiating. Burial followed in Hazel Creek Cemetery in Belton.
Elwood Felix Butler
RADCLIFF, KY - Elwood Felix Butler, 74, died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2005 at his residence.
Born in Muhlenberg County Nov. 14, 1930, he was a retired veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Butler; two daughters, Debra Tillotson of Henderson and Margaret Payne of Georgetown, Ky.; two brothers, Jimmie Cobb of Belton and Robert Cobb of Central City; three sisters, Betty Lavely of Central City, Linda Noffsinger of Bremen and Donna Barbre of Beech Creek; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Nov. 14 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City with the Rev. W.R. Cook officiating. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

DRAKESBORO - Thomas B. Vincent, 70, died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005 at his residence.
Born in Lake City, Mich. Oct. 24, 1935, he was self-employed in the heating and cooling business.
Survivors include his wife, Audrene Jenner Vincent; three sons, Micheal Vincent and David Vincent, both of Drakesboro and Steven Vincent of Cedar Rapid, Iowa; two daughters, Eleanor Lipofski of Chicago, Ill. and Cindy Fulton of Beaver Dam; three brothers, John Vincent and Rondal Vincent, both of Ind. and Howard Vincent of Utah; three sisters, Jean Tenhopen and Tonie Hayhurst, both of Mich. and Darline Aquaviva of Fla.; 10 grandchildren; a great-grandchild and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

GREENVILLE - Edna June Lovell, 60, died Sunday, Nov. 13 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Muhlenberg County Dec. 24, 1944, she was a homemaker and a member of Beech Creek Pentecostal Mission Church.
Survivors include her husband, Wendell Lovell; a son, Jerry Lovell of Graham; her mother, Billie Wilkins of Greenville; a sister, Brenda Green of Greenville; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Charles Edward “Chuck” Thomas
Charles Edward “Chuck” Thomas, 53, died Monday, Nov. 14, 2005 at his residence.
Born in Muhlenberg County Oct. 5, 1952, he was the son of Lois Thomas and the late Jasper Thomas. He was a miner, disc jockey and a member of the First Baptist Church in Central City.
Survivors include a daughter, Amanda Marsala of Bremen; a son, Ethan Thomas of Madisonville; his mother, Lois Thomas of Central City; a brother, Durward Thomas of Central City; his fiancé, Romona Stewart of Powderly and one grandchild.

MORGANTOWN - Mary “Tweety” Kristin Henderson, 34, died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green.
Born in Dunmor Feb. 12, 1971, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Hendrix and Wanda Sumner Hendrix and a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Don Henderson; a daughter, Christina Henderson of Morgantown; two sons, Dustin Riley and Bradley Hendrix, both of Morgantown; three sisters, Wanda Faye Walker of Vandalia, Ill., Jean Beadnell of Penrod and Gloria Johnson of Sanford, N.C. and a brother, Perry Hendrix of Dunmor.

DUNMOR - Pauline Free, 77, died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Penrod Feb. 25, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie Free and Mary Susan Arnold Free and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sisters, Irene Napier and Alice Wilson, both of Dunmor and a brother, Dennie Free of Dunmor.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Nov. 16 at Price Funeral Home in Lewisburg with Brother Darrell Puryear officiating. Burial will follow in Hortons Chapel Cemetery in Muhlenberg County. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Nov. 15 at Price Funeral Home.
