GREENVILLE - Billy Lou Pogue, 80, died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2005 at Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tenn.
Born in Drakesboro Dec. 20, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Beulah Austin. She was a member of the Hazel Creek Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, quilting and sewing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayland Pogue and a brother, Clarence Austin.
Survivors include four sons, John (Marian) Pogue, Jerry Pogue, Mark (Freda) Pogue and Tim (Beth) Pogue, all of Greenville; two sisters, Donnie Lollar of Ind. and Polly Beavers of Louisville; eight grandchildren, Paul Pogue, Amy Pogue, Valerie Hardison, Kimberly Gatton, Thomas Pogue, Michelle Pogue, Marla Pogue and Alex Pogue and two great-grandchildren, Ashley and Dylan Hardison.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Nov. 5 at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Chaney and the Rev. W.R. Cook officiating. Burial followed in Hazel Creek Cemetery.
Virginia Maxine Wagoner Teague
GREENVILLE - Virginia Maxine Wagoner Teague, 75, died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005 at her residence after a short illness.
Born in Greenville May 25, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Wagoner and Mary Molly Roberts Wagoner. She was a member of Carter Creek Missionary Baptist Church and retired as a social worker aid for the state of Kentucky in 1995 after 18 years of employment. She was selected Social Worker Aid of the Year for the state of Kentucky and was an honorary Kentucky Colonel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie L. “Buddy” Teague in 1976; a sister, Avanell Sweeney and a brother, Ray Wagoner in World War II.
Survivors include a daughter, Alice (Pete) Peterson of Greenville; a son, Ronnie (Sharon) Teague of Greenville; four grandchildren, Buddy (Mindy) Peterson of Louisville, Jenny (Brannon) McIntosh, Jeremy (Amy) Teague and Sarah (Jeff) McWhorter, all of Greenville; five great-grandchildren, Jack, Ben, Sydney, Emma and Madison Grace and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Nov. 5 at Gary’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Kevin Burden and the Rev. Don Piper officiating. Burial followed in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Powderly. Thomas Franklin Durall
Thomas Franklin Durall, 61, died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Muhlenberg County March 4, 1944, he was a member of Cherry Hill Baptist Church in Central City.
Survivors include a brother, Jim Bob Durall of Knoxville and a sister, Eleanore Brown Moore of Louisville.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Nov. 4 at Cherry Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Alan Knight officiating. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Teresa Gail Walker Davis
GREENVILLE - Teresa Gail Walker Davis, 43, died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005 at her residence.
Born in Greenville Sept. 24, 1962, she was the daughter of Bobby Gene Walker and Jane Gordon Wilkinson Lamke. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Greenville and was retired from Muhlenberg Community Hospital after 17 years. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Calvin and Lucille Walker.
Survivors include her father, Bobby (Shirley) Walker of Powderly; her mother, Jane Gordon (Tim) Lamke of Elkton; her grandparents, James and Sarah Jane Wilkinson of Greenville; a brother, Lonnie Bryant Mitchell of San Bernadina, Calif.; a sister, Tracy (Benjamin) Jamison of Greenville and a step brother, Buddy (Nancy) Estes of Powderly.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Nov. 3 at Gary’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary McAbee and the Rev. Rob Gwaltney officiating. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville.
Gayla Monice Slaughter Smith
ELKTON - Gayla Monice Slaughter Smith, 51, died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005 as the result of a vehicle accident.
Born in Hopkinsville Jan. 16, 1954, she was the daughter of Virginia Frances Gill Blake and the late Delbert Phillip Slaughter and of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Ronald Smith in May 2005.
Survivors include her mother, Virginia Frances Gill Blake of Hartselle, Ala.; a son, James Bryan (Crystal) Hancock of Owensboro; three daughters, Jacqueline Renee (Mark) Fuller and Ami (Shannon) Vincent, both of Greenville and Jennifer (Timothy) Striss of Anderson, S.C.; two brothers, Freddie (Donna) Slaughter of Greenville and Ronnie (Angie) Slaughter of Interlachen, Fla. and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Nov. 2 at Gary’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Sweeney officiating. Burial followed in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Elkton.
Anna Sue Rust
DRAKESBORO - Anna Sue Rust, 76, died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005 at her residence, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Muhlenberg County Nov. 29, 1928, she was the daughter of John Wesley Roberson and Millie Carver Roberson. She was a retired employee of the General Electric Company in Owensboro where she worked for 35 years and she was a member of Hazel Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Woody” Rust in July 1986; two sons, Ricky Wayne Rust Sr. and Kevin Rust; a brother, Norman Roberson and two sisters, Mary and Martha Roberson.
Survivors include three daughters, Anne Marie Martin of Beechmont and Lynne Renae Parsons and Vicky Elaine Putman, both of Drakesboro; two sons, Gerald Dean Rust of Drakesboro and Barry Norman Rust of Greenville; a brother, Reggie Roberson of Browder; six sisters, Joyce McGhee of Greenville, Jane Johnson and Doris Bowers, both of Beechmont, Ella Dean Carden of Crofton, Brenda Johnson of Charlestown, Ind. and Linda Staples of Beech Creek; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Nov. 2 at Gary’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Kevin McGehee and the Rev. Lee Groves officiating and music by the Rev. George Thompson. Burial followed in Hazel Creek Cemetery.
Geneva Emogene Small
BEAVER DAM - Geneva Emogene Small, 78, died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005 at Owensboro Medical Health Systems.
Born in Ohio County Oct. 22, 1927, she was a homemaker and a member of the Central City Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse E. Small in Oct. 2004.
Survivors include three sons, Rev. Dwight Small of Russell Springs, Phillip Small of Savannah, Ill. and Mickey Small of Owensboro; two daughters, Karen Knight of Madisonville and Diane Steffey of Marissa, Ill.; a sister, Dorothy Wilkerson of Owensboro; 21 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Nancy Sue McGuyer, 85, died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005 at Odyssey Health Care in Amarillo, Texas.
Born in Muhlenberg County April 12, 1920, she was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Richard McGuyer, Sr. and a son, William Richard McGuyer, Jr.
Survivors include two sons, Fredrick Reece McGuyer and Michael Leonard McGuyer, both of Texas; a sister, Dorothy Sandefur of Longview, Texas and a granddaughter.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Nov. 4 at Tucker Funeral Home with Enoch Rich officiating. Burial followed in Miller Cemetery in Cleaton.

Lucill Alma Miller, 85, died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005 at her residence.
Born in Muhlenberg County Feb. 14, 1920, she was a homemaker and a member of the Cleaton Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Shelby (Donnie) Jones of Central City and Sue (Gerald) Moore of Hammond, Ind.; three sons, Jimmy (Ruby) Miller and Jerry (Linda) Miller, both of Central City and Bobby (Shirley) Miller of Hammond, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; two step grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 8 step great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Nov. 4 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Ernest Bean and the Rev. Timmy Camplin officiating. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City.

TELL CITY, IND - Dolly A. Rogier, 83, died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2005 at Perry County Memorial Hospital.
Born in Greenville Aug. 10, 1922, she was the daughter of the late John and Jenny Kirkman Howe. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and the Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Rogier; three sisters, Belvie West, Inez Goffinet and Eva Peter and five brothers, Ed, Arlie, Jack, Elmer and Frank Howe.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Lou Williams of Leopold, Ind.; a son, Ray Rogier of Grandview, Ind.; a sister, Ruthie Miller of Greenville; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Nov. 5 at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home with the Rev. Columba Kelly O.S.B. officiating. Burial followed in St. Augustine Church Cemetery in Leopold, Ind. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

BREMEN - Ronni LeAnn Bailey, infant, died Friday, Nov. 4, 2005 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
Born in Hopkins County Nov. 4, 2005, she was the daughter of Roy Jr. and Sandra Bailey of Bremen. She was preceded in death by two grandfathers, Roy Lee Bailey Sr. and Ronnie Dwain Miller.
Survivors include her parents; a sister, Misty Dawn Bailey of Bremen; her grandparents, Helen Jean Bailey of Greenville and Rose Anna Miller of Bremen and her great-grandfather, Ezra Miller of Greenville.

Earl Truman Hilliard
POWDERLY - Earl Truman Hilliard, 79, died Friday, Nov. 4, 2005 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Granite City, Ill. Jan. 18, 1926, he was the son of the late Carl Hilliard and Rosa Esta Cook Hilliard. He owned and operated the Gulf Station in Greenville for 25 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Willowdean Steele Hilliard in April 2005.
Survivors include a son, Steve Hilliard of Powderly; a brother, Wilbur Hilliard of Dearborne, Mich.; two granddaughters, Brandie (Darren) Terry of Leitchfield, Ky. and Shannon (Scott) Gibson of Chicago, Ill. and a great-granddaughter, Erin Terry of Leitchfield, Ky.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Nov. 7 at Gary’s Funeral Home with Brother Craig Rolley and Brother Muriel Cobb officiating. Burial followed in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Powderly.
Lana Jean Hargrove Peveler
Lana Jean Hargrove Peveler, 63, returned to her Heavenly Father Friday, Nov. 4, 2005 at Norton Audubon Hospital.
Born in Central City May 18, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Wesley and Cletus Harper Hargrove. She was a member of the New Harmony Baptist Church and retired from General Electric.
Survivors include her husband, Boyd Peveler; two daughters, Sherri Adams and Jeanette Coulter; three sons, Barry and Tim Peveler and Robert Adams; two brothers, Jerry and Marion Hargrove; three sisters, Leslie Hargrove, Shannon Sisk and Diane Haney; two grandchildren, Whitney and Braylin Peveler and a host of other family and friends.

Lonnie James Lile
BREMEN - Lonnie James Lile, 73, died Friday, Nov. 4, 2005 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
Born in Muhlenberg County Aug. 29, 1932, he the son of the late Cecil and Florence Lile. He was a retired farmer and factory worker employed by Whirlpool in Evansville, an Army veteran and a member of Richardson’s Chapel General Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Barry Lile and a brother, Connie Lile.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Wilson Lile; a son, Ronald Lile of Texas; two daughters, Sheree Walters of Madisonville and Lori King of Central City; a brother, Tommy Lile of Bremen; four sisters, Elizabeth Rhoads of Reserve, La., Joan Lile and Shirley Morris, both of Central City and Patti Edwards of Browder; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Born in Beckley, W. Va. Oct. 15, 1954, she was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Central City.
Survivors include her husband, Mikey Piper; a son, Ronny Piper of Greenville; a daughter, Kelly Piper Cottrell of Central City; two brothers, Robert Holland of Georgia and Gordon Holland of Dawson Springs; three sisters, Marsha Shelton of Drakesboro and Laura Greene and Barbara Vincent, both of Central City; six grandchildren, Josh Piper, Gabrielle Piper, Katie Cottrell, Lauren Piper, Noah Piper and Benjamin Cottrell and several nieces and nephews.
