Born in Muhlenberg County July 19, 1958, he was the son of J.C. Jones and the late Rena Jones. He was a farmer and a member of Shaver’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Bremen.
Survivors include a daughter, Jessie Marie Jones of Graham; a step daughter, Tiffany Kirk of Midland; his father and step mother, J.C. and Juanita Jones of Greenville; two brothers, Roy Jones of South Carrollton and Russell Jones of Bremen; a sister, Judy Hall of Bremen; a half sister, Larra Jones of Louisville; a step brother, Thomas Brennan of Clarksville, Tenn. and two grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Brooklyn.
Funeral services will be held at noon Nov. 9 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Marty Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in Shaver’s Chapel Cemetery in Bremen. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Nov. 8 at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City.
Drucie N. Fields
Drucie N. Fields, 91, of Central City, died October 31, 2002 at Belle Meade Nursing Home in Greenville.
Born in Muhlenberg County, she was a retired nurse aide and had worked at Sparks Nursing Home. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, Dempsey Fields of Paducah, one daughter, Hattie Sumner of Schererville, Indiana; six grandchildren, Rick Sumner, Paula Rogers, Susan Loos, Carol Cochran, Larry Fields and Jackie Story; 11 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Willis of Greenville and Grace Gatlin of Madisonville.
Funeral services were held Sunday, November 3 at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Rev. Curtis McGehee officiating. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Sue Hope
CLARKSVILLE - Sue Hope, 53, of Clarksville, Tennessee died October 29, 2002 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville after a lengthy illness.
Born March 8, 1949 in Hopkinsville, she was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by three daughters, Kim Harrison of Clarksville, Diana Sheely of Aberdeen, Maryland and Karen Rittenberry of Roanoke Rapids, N C; one son, Wayne Hope of Browder; four brothers, Robert Sweeney of Clarksville, Brack Sweeney of Clifty, Ferry Sweeney of Louisville and Andrew Sweeney of Brier, Washington; and four sisters, Velura McIntosh of Fort Worth, TX, Ivy Sheppard of Benning, California, Mae Turner of Clarksville and Wanda Goodson of Salem, Alabama.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 2 at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville with Sister Wanda Goodson officiating. Burial followed in Joines Chapel Cemetery in Clifty. Gary’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
R. Darrell Everly
R. Darrell Everly, 70, of Central City, died October 29, 2002 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born March 23, 1932, he was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was employed at TVA. He was a licensed minister, having received a bachelor’s degree from Clear Creek Bible College in 1997 and a master’s degree from Southern Seminary in 1999.
Survivors include his spouse, Barbara Adler Everly, one son, John E. Everly of Central City, one granddaughter, Christina Everly Snyder of Midland; one great grandson, Dylan M.Foster; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Friday, November 1, at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Rev. Bob Lowery officiating. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Thelma Lois Frazier
DRAKESBORO - Thelma Lois Frazier, 83, of Drakesboro, died Saturday, November 2, 2002 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born May 15, 1919 in Ohio County, she was a member of Bethel Baptist Church of Drakesboro, serving as assistant pianist, member of senior choir, church secretary and on the deaconess board. She graduated as valedictorian from Bruce School in Beaver Dam in 1937. She also attended Kentucky State University for three years. She was married to the late Earl Frazier of Drakesboro.
Survivors include one daughter, Earline Goins of Rantoul, Illinois; two sons, Roger Frazier of Drakesboro and Kevin Frazier of Bowling Green; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; and one niece, Sandra Harbin, of Greenville.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 12:30 - 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Bethel Baptist Church in Drakesboro. Funeral services will be Thursday, November 7 at 1 p.m., also at Bethel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in West End Cemetery in Greenville. Bibbs Funeral Home in Greenville is in charge of arrangements.
Clara Ann Bishop
GREENVILLE - Clara Ann Bishop, 77, of Greenville, died Friday, November 1, 2002 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital after a short illness.
Born March 31, 1925 in Ohio County, she was a homemaker. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Greenville and was a Kentucky Colonel. She was also a member of VFW Post #5478 Ladies Auxillary. She was preceded in death by two grandsons, Robbie Bishop and Steven Wade.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Drexel Levaughn Bishop of Greenville; five daughters, Joyce Jackson of Greenville, N.C., Sharon Martin of Seattle, Washington, and Barbara Bishop, Glenda Sears and Gloria Wade Long, all of Greenville; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 4, at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Billy Vincent officiating. Burial followed in Friendship Cemetery, Greenville. Gary’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Bobby M. Miller
SACRAMENTO - Bobby M. Miller, 70, of Sacramento died Friday, November 1, 2002 at his residence.
Born November 20, 1931 in McLean County, he retired in 1991 from General Electric in Madisonville where he worked as a facility engineer. He was a member and deacon of Sacramento Baptist Church and was a veteran, having served in the United States Navy.
Survivors include his spouse, Dean Galyen Miller; one son, Steve Miller of Island; two daughters, Denise Level of Sacramento and Joy Pendley of Hanson; nine grandchildren; two step grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and two sisters, Virginia Vincent of Greenville and Jeanette Utley of Madisonville.
Funeral services were held Sunday, November 3 at Tucker Memorial Chapel in Sacramento with Rev. Darell Eldridge officiating, assisted by Rev. Hal Shipley. Ocus Slaughter
GREENVILLE - Ocus Slaughter, 76, of Greenville died Sunday, November 3, 2002 at Belle Meade Nursing Home in Greenville after a lengthy illness.
Born April 26, 1926 in Muhlenberg County, he was the son of Zelmer Slaughter and Bessie Sears Slaughter Wilkins. He was retired from construction work where he worked as a brick layer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce McGhee Slaughter and son, Kent Stacey Slaughter.
Survivors include one son, Jace Slaughter of Greenville; one step-granddaughter, Jill Darlene Miller of Columbia, KY; four half-sisters, June Joines of Beechmont, Wilma Joines of Henderson, Verla Carver of Moscutah, Illinois and Jo Ann McGinnis of Hopkinsville; one half-brother, Hollis Slaughter of Beechmont, and one aunt, Lillian Browning of Greenville.

Deborah Diane Loney, 48, died Monday, November 4, 2002 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born June 26, 1954 in Muhlenberg County, she was a homemaker and society editor for the Leader-News. She was a member of Richardson Chapel General Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Neely Loney; two sons, Aaron Loney of Nelson Creek and Adam Loney of Drakesboro; one daughter, Chrystal Vanover of Madisonville; three grandsons, Austin Tyler Loney, Aaron Eugene Loney and Ethan Kane Loney; her mother, Barbara Smith of Beechmont and one sister, Delores Harris of Russellville.

GREENVILLE Betty Lorene Garris, 81, died Monday, Oct. 27, 2003 at her residence.
Born in Muhlenberg County, April 11, 1922, to the late Rufus Groves and Lou Clara Wells Groves, she was a lifetime member of Bards Hill General Baptist Church. She retired from Muhlenberg Community Hospital in 1992 where she was a food service assistant for 14 years. She enjoyed spending time with family and working word search puzzles.
Survivors include a sister, Ruby Nell (Loyd) Rolley of Graham; two sons, Phillip Wayne (Betty) Garris of Greenville and Tommy Allen (Linda) Garris of Eddyville; a daughter, Judy Lynn (Jack) Humphrey of Depoy; five grandchildren, Phillip Garris, Jr., Tammy Carnithan, Pennie Sandoval, Mandy Stephens, and Tony Garris; two great-grandchildren, Lauren Carnithan and Clarence Burton Garris; and several nieces and nephews.

Sarah Suzanne Holt Beck
Sarah Suzanne Holt Beck, 25, died Monday, Oct. 27, 2003 as a result of a car accident on Greenville Road in Hopkinsville.
Born in Colbert, Ala., June 8, 1978, she was a member of Martwick Baptist Church in Central City and a self-employed nail technician.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Beck, Jr.; a son, Lucas Donald Beck; her parents, John and Susan Dearmond Holt of Madisonville; a brother, Aaron Holt of Elsmere, Ky.; a sister, Angie Martinez of Victoria, Texas; a grandmother, Martha Dearmond of Greenville; a grandfather, Charles Sterrett of Metropolis, Ill.; six nieces; three nephews; and several aunts and uncles.

Formerly Ruth Irene Hoover, she was a native of Penrod.
Survivors include her husband, William K. Hughes; three daughters, Gloria Hughes, Joyce Hughes, and Merry Moore; and six grandchildren.

Eleanor Laola Kilgore
CHARDON TOWNSHIP, OHIO - Eleanor Laola Kilgore, 74, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003 at Manor Care in Willoughby, Ohio.
Born in Detroit, Mich., Sept. 21, 1925, to the late Truman Henry and Elsie May Gundry Campbell, she was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Greenville and Chardon, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Kilgore, in 1998, and one brother and two sisters.
Survivors include two sons; Henry Kilgore of El Paso, Texas, and William Kilgore of Hambden Township, Ohio; three brothers, William Campbell, Rodney Campbell and Wesley Campbell, all of Rockford, Ill.; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

BREMEN - Louvania Lee Willis, 91, died Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003 at her residence.
Born in McLean County, Feb. 9, 1912, she was a homemaker and a member of Shaver’s Chapel Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Jimmie Rich and a daughter, Brenda Dunlap.
Survivors include two daughters; Jewell Moore and Linda Gish, both of Bremen; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Born in Butler County, Jan. 10, 1916, he was a farmer and a member of Richardson’s Chapel General Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kattie Ray Johnson; a son, Bobby Johnson; and two daughters, Anna Yvonney Lewis and Wanda June Johnson.
Survivors include a son, Jerry Johnson of Lewisburg; a daughter, Betty Joyce Greathouse of Beaver Dam; a stepson, Mitch Poole of Madisonville; three stepdaughters, April Poole of Browder, Brinda Bishop of Baltimore, Md., and Connie Hurley of Owensboro; a sister, Kathryn Morris of Livermore; 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
