Survivors include four sons, Mike Neal of Central City, Larry Neal of Evansville, Ind., John Kimmel of Conyers, Ga. and Randy Kimmel of Falmouth, Ky.; two daughters, Sonia Bivins of Navarre, Ohio and Debbie Goldston of Scottsboro, Ala.; two brothers, John Bruce of Frankfort and Wendell Bruce of Lawrenceburg, Ky.; one sister, Vanetta Vincent of Auburn, Ky.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Oct. 15 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Neal officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Bremen.
Linda Lou Jeffers
CLEATON Linda Lou Jeffers, 59, died Friday, October 13, 2006 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green.
Born in Muhlenberg County Feb. 23, 1947, she was a homemaker and a member of True Vine Full Gospel in Russellville.
Survivors include her husband, Dale Jeffers; one son, Jimmy (Helen) Jeffers of Cleaton; one grandson, Jordan Jeffers; two granddaughters, Jayme and Haley Fields; two brothers, Frankie Piper of Owensboro and Elvis Piper of Hanson; and two sisters, Cookie and Geneva, both of Kentucky.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Oct. 16 at Tucker Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Fuller officiating. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City.
Carrie Stanley Evitts
GRAHAM Carrie Stanley Evitts, 95, died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2006 at Belle Meade Nursing Home in Greenville.
Born in Muhlenberg County Dec. 30, 1910, she was a homemaker and a member of East Union Baptist Church in Graham. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gaythel Evitts.
Survivors include one son, Wallace Ray Evitts of Richmond, Va.; one daughter, Barbara Evitts Wines of Greenville; three grandchildren, Debbie Evitts Moeller of Graham, Larry Thomas Wines and David Rust Wines, both of Greenville; three great-grandchildren, Dexter Shane Pitts of Centertown, Misty Wines Sampson of Central City and Thomas Brandon Wines of South Carrollton; five great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Marie Deason Terry.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Oct. 16 at Tucker Funeral Home with Forest Deason officiating. Burial followed in East Union Cemetery in Graham.
Renia Faye Morgan Whitaker
GREENVILLE Renia Faye Morgan Whitaker, 57, died Friday, Oct. 13, 2006 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital after a short illness.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio Aug. 28, 1949, she was a dietary assistant at Maple Manor Nursing Home in Greenville for nine years. She was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Depoy.
Survivors include her husband of 27 years, Gary Whitaker; one son, Chris Whitaker of Bowling Green; two daughters, Dusti Tellez of San Diego, Calif. and Tristin Whitaker of Morganfield; one granddaughter; her parents, the Rev. Ora H. Morgan and Wilda Marie Reed Morgan, both of Bowling Green; and one brother, Troy Morgan of Bowling Green.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Oct. 15 at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Drury officiating. Burial will be held in Oak Grove Cemetery in Depoy. Gary’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Linda Faye Livingston
Linda Faye Livingston, 62, died Friday, Oct. 13, 2006 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Muhlenberg County Aug. 31, 1944, she was a homemaker and a member of Mount Zion Presbyterian Church in Central City.
Survivors include two sons, James Michael Garrison and J. Marshall Garrison, both of Orlando, Fla.; two grandchildren; and two sisters, Allie Mitchell and Wanda Phelps, both of Central City.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will take place at Mount Zion Cemetery in Central City.
Kenneth W. Hill
GREENVILLE Kenneth W. Hill, 86, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006 in the Owensboro Medical Health System after a sudden illness.
Born in Christian County July 7, 1920, he was the son of the late Raymond Hubert Hill and Elgie Christine McCellan Hill. He was a member of Cherry Grove Church of Christ in Weir and was a retired farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Desma Gerline Hill on June 23, 2004 and a sister, Wilma Wells on Feb. 14, 2006.
Survivors include two daughters, Wilda Ann Boggess of Weir and Deanna Noffsinger of Greenville; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Billy Hill of Greenville and Dennis Hill of Oakland City, Ind.; and one sister, Margie Newman of St. Louis, Miss.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Oct. 18 at Gary’s Funeral Home with Robert Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in Cherry Grove Cemetery in Weir. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Oct. 17 and after 9 a.m. Oct. 18 at Gary’s Funeral Home.
Alma Mae Poss
GREENVILLE Alma Mae Poss, 92, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006 in the Maple Manor Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.
Born in Bremen Feb. 24, 1914, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Whitmer. She was a manicurist for 25 years and a member of Brier Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Bremen. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Lacey; her second husband, Charles M. Highley Jr.; her third husband, Clyde G. Poss and one son, James Lacey.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Highley of Kalamazoo, Mich. and Thomas Dale Highley of Las Vegas, Nev.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one sister, Irene Scanllor of Barbton, Ohio.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Oct. 18 at Brier Creek Cemetery in Bremen.

GREENVILLE Clyde West, 93, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2003 at his residence.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Jan. 6, 1910, he was a retired carpenter and a member of Cave Spring Missionary Baptist Church where he served as deacon for 40 years.
Survivors include his wife, Carlen West; a son, Robert West of Greenville; a daughter, Dean West Caskey of Greenville; four step-sons, Roger Stobaugh of Sacramento, Ronnie Stobaugh and Larry Stobaugh, both of Greenville, and Mike Stobaugh of Madisonville; ten grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 14 step-great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Oct. 8 at Cave Spring Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Willis McCracken assisted by Bro. Jeff Morris officiating. Burial followed in Cave Spring Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Greenville. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Robert Wayne Pointer
Robert Wayne Pointer, 25, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2003 at his residence.
He was born in Muhlenberg County, April 21, 1978, to Bobby and Barbara Pointer of Central City.
Survivors include a daughter, Kelcey Teanna Pointer of Drakesboro; a sister, Brenda Gale Rickard of Sacramento; his grandparents, Margaret and Roger Register of Sebring, Fla.; four uncles; five aunts; a niece; a nephew; and several cousins.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Oct. 10 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Leroy Rearden officiating. Burial followed in Fairmount Cemetery in Central City.
Alonzo Howard Annes
NASHVILLE, TENN. Alonzo Howard Annes, 84, formerly of Muhlenberg County, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2003 of Leukemia. He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Jean Annes. Survivors include a son, Leland Annes.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., Oct. 10 at the Woodlawn Chapel of Roses with Ben McGinnis officiating. Burial followed in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Nashville.
Dr. Clifton Wayne King
Dr. Clifton Wayne King, 58, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2003 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Dec. 14, 1944 to the late Clifton C. and Loraine King, he was a graduate of the University of Louisville Dental School in 1972. He practiced dentistry in Greenville for over 30 years. He was also a farmer and a former real estate agent. He was the current Muhlenberg County Health Department Chairman. He was preceded in death by a sister, Cathy King.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Connie Doss King; two sons, Curtis (Kimberly) King of El Paso, Texas and Clifton L. King of Central City; and a granddaughter, Arabella King.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Oct. 10 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Cundiff officiating. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City.
Hellen R. Hartley
TEMPERANCE, MICH. Hellen R. Hartley, 71, formerly of Toledo, Ohio, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2003 at the Bedford Elderly Care Center.
Born in Auburn, July 16, 1932, to the late Trafton B. and Ruth L. (Lack) Moore, she retired as a Licensed Practical Nurse from Toledo Mental Health Center after 30 years of service. She was preceded in death by a sister, Margie Bowers and a brother, James K. Moore.
Survivors include two sons, Steven K. Davis and Joe G. Hartley; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Oct. 11 at the Gant Cemetery in Sharon Grove. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of N.W. Ohio, 2500 Reynolds Road, Toledo, OH, 43615 or Mercy Memorial Hospital Hospice, 725 N. Monroe St., Monroe, MI, 48161. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Eula Mae Vincent
WHITE PLAINS Eula Mae Vincent, 97, died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003 at her home after a short illness.
Born in Muhlenberg County, July 11, 1906, to the late Jake Richey and Audrey Pearl Walker Richey, she was a member of Second Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her son Billy Franklin Vincent in 1978, and two stepsons, Atherton Vincent and S.C. Vincent.
Survivors include a daughter, Jo Ann Piper of White Plains; a son, Thurman Vincent, Jr. of Pulaski, Tenn.; two stepdaughters, Martha Jayne Ritter of Ayers, Mass., and Mary Margaret Vincent of Louisville; a brother, Roy Richey of Lewiston, Mich.; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Caroleena Sue Massey
CLEATON Caroleena “Charlie” Sue Massey, 41, died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003 in the Jennie Stuart Hospital in Hopkinsville after a short illness.
Born in Slaughters, May 25, 1962, she was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her husband of four and one half years, Raymond Massey; a son, Eric James Massey; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Oct. 10 at Gary’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Clifford Lowell officiating. Burial followed in Friendship Cemetery in Greenville.
Elsie McDonald Smith
DRAKESBORO Elsie McDonald Smith, 85, died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2003 in the Jennie Stuart Hospital after a short illness.
Born in Muhlenberg County, March 9, 1918, to the late Lawrence McDonald and Martha Elizabeth Fulcher McDonald, she was a member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Kay Smith in 1950.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Dawson Smith; two sons, Dawson Ray (Linda) Smith of Lewisburg and Jeff (Martha) Smith of Mount Washington, Ky.; two daughters, Regina (Don) Adler of Russellville and Jackie (David) Pogue of Drakesboro; a special nephew, Howard McDonald, Jr. of South Carrollton; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and three step-great-great- grandchildren.

Emma Louise Yewell Ogden, 83, died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2003 at Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City, Ind.
Born in McLean County, Jan. 3, 1921, she was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church in Central City. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Benita Ogden.
Survivors include a son, John Ogden of Tell City, Ind.; two daughters, Martha Clark of Cincinnati, Ohio and Jeannie Givens of Louisville; a brother, Russell Yewell of Bremen; two sisters, Eula May Hayes and Sue Rager, both of Central City; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
