Born August 20, 1946 in Muhlenberg County, she was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her father, Perry O’Bannon.
She is survived by her husband, David Lindsey; one son, David Scott Lindsey of Cleaton; three daughters, Tammy Lewis of Cleaton, Regina Fleming of Rochester and Marian Tinkle of Sacramento; 8 grandchildren; her mother, Margaret O’Bannon of Drakesboro; three sisters, Retha Lindsey of Morgantown, Connie Lile of Powderly and Kathy Buchanan of Drakesboro.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 14, at Tucker Funeral Home with Rev. T. H. Davis officiating.
Lewis Andrew Mayes
BELTON - Lewis Andrew Mayes, 67, of Belton, died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.
Born June 15, 1935 in Weir, he was the son of James Homer Mayes and Mable Joines Mayes. He was a retired UMWA coal miner, having worked at Sinclair Coal Mine. He was a 42-year member of the Drakesboro Church of Christ and was preceded in death by one daughter, Rebecca Suzanne Mayes in 1990.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Betty Hunt Mayes of Belton; one son, Mark Andrew Mayes of Smyrna, Tenn.; one grandson, Jasper Andrew Mayes of Smyrna; two granddaughters, Amber Rhea Mayes Smith of Murfreesboro and Arisa Jade Mayes of Smyrna; two great grandchildren, Destiny Smith and Kane Smith, both of Murfreesboro; and two sisters, Daisy Harvey of White Plains and Letha Odell Wells of Madisonville.
Funeral services were held Nov. 9 at Drakesboro Church of Christ with Mark Mayes and Earl Gieseke officiating. Burial followed in Old Hebron Cemetery in Penrod. Gary’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Vollie J. Daugherty
MADISONVILLE - Vollie J. Daugherty, 94, of Madisonville, died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2002, at his residence.
Born June 2, 1908 in Webster County, he was the son of the late Robert John Daugherty and Rosie Nell Snodgrass. He was a coal miner for Badgett Coal Co., a member of UMWA and a member of East Union Baptist Church in Graham. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Alice Grace Gibson Daugherty on January 13, 1997, one daughter, Martha Jean Cates on January 6, 2000, three sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include three daughters, Goldie Marie Simmons of Henderson, Texas, Barbara Yates of Nebo and Teresa Parker of Sturgis; seven sons, John Daugherty of Dixon, Bob Daugherty of Nebo, Jerrold Daugherty of Slaughters, Larry Daugherty of Clay, Victor Daugherty of Nebo and Tondra Daugherty of Madisonville; one sister, Lizzie Daugherty of Madisonville; one brother, Lester Daugherty of Evansville; 26 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 9 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home in Madisonville with the Revs. Tondra Daugherty and Patrick Yates officiating. Burial will follow in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery in Manitou. Barnett-Strother Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Zadie Louise Ray
GREENVILLE - Zadie Louise Ray, 65, of Greenville, died Nov. 5, 2002, at her residence after a lengthy illness.
Born October 11, 1937 in Muhlenberg County, she was a member of the New Cypress Baptist Church. She was manager of Latham’s Dry Cleaners in Greenville and was a manager of Country Kitchen in Greenville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lin Ray in 1998.
Survivors include four sons, C. Michael Ray and Bobby Ray, both of Madisonville, and Maurice Shively and Johnny Ray, both of Greenville; two daughters, Linda Miller of Rockford, Ill. and Brenda Ray of Greenville; 12 grandchildren, three great grandchildren; one brother, Larry Oliver of Midland; six sisters, Carrie Gibson and Tiny Gish, both of Central City, and Lizzie Crawford, Jean Dunn, Kay Miller and Patricia Smith, all of Greenville.
Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 8 at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial followed in New Cypress Cemetery in Greenville. Gary’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Edith Son
SACRAMENTO - Edith Son, 89, of Sacramento, died Nov. 5, 2002, at Riverside Manor Nursing Home in Calhoun.
Born April 1, 1913 in McLean County, she was a member of Poplar Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was a Kentucky Colonel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Son in 1988, one son, Coy L. Son in 1996 and one daughter, Barbara Nell Son in 1937.
Survivors include two sons, Ray W. Son of Bethel, Oh. and Henry T. Son of Owensboro; one daughter, Joan Rudd of St. Clair, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; and one sister, Eunice Abrams of Madisonville.
Funeral services were held Friday, November 8, at Tucker Memorial Chapel in Sacramento with Rev. Carl Sparks officiating. Burial followed in Poplar Grove Cemetery in McLean County. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
James C. Moore
CLEATON - James C. Moore, 77, of Cleaton, died Nov. 7, 2002 at Maple Manor Health Care Center.
Born August 3, 1925, he was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include three brothers, Glendell Moore of Greenville, Bobby Moore of Louisville and Lynn Moore of Cleaton; three sisters, Wanda Jones and Reba Cooper, both of Central City and Marietta Davenport of Cleaton; and several nieces and nephews.

Teresa Kay Fuller
GREENVILLE - Teresa Kay Fuller, 53, of Greenville, died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002, at Owensboro Mercy Hospital following a brief illness.
Born April 30, 1949 in Muhlenberg County, she was a 1967 graduate of Greenville High School and was a member of Greenville United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Ted Fuller, of Greenville; one son, Jonathan Kelly Fuller of Greenville; her mother, Christine Carver of Greenville and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 9, at Gary’s Funeral Home with Rev. Vernon Perdue officiating. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville. Gary’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Helen D. Spicer
Helen D. Spicer, of Central City, died Nov. 8, 2002, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville.
Born in Muhlenberg County, she was a member of New Testament Christian Church in Central City and was a homemaker.
Survivors include one son, David I. Spicer of Central City and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held Monday, Nov.11 at Tucker Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Templeton officiating assisted by Rev. Terry Groves and Rev. George Carmen. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Karl “Curly” Kretschman, Jr.
CALHOUN - Karl “Curly” Kretschman, Jr., 75, of Calhoun, died Friday, Nov. 8, 2002, at his home in Calhoun.
Born May 24, 1927 in Livermore, he was of the Methodist Faith. He had retired from the Tennessee Valley Authority Plant in Paradise, was an Airforce veteran and was a 50 year member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local #181 of Henderson. He was also a Kentucky Colonel. He played the steel guitar for several different country music stars and enjoyed University of Kentucky football and basketball.
Survivors include his wife, Agnes M. Kretschman; two sons, Dennis Wayne Kretschman and Norman Dean Kretschman, both of Florida; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 11, at Muster Funeral Homes in Calhoun with the Rev. Drex Stuart officiating. Burial followed in West Union Schoolhouse Cemetery near Sacramento in McLean County. Military honors were conducted by the V.F.W. McLean County Memorial Post #5415. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Karl Krestschman, Jr., Memorial Fund, c/o Muster Funeral Homes, P. O. Box 160, Calhoun, Ky. 42327. Wanda Mae Carter
BEECHMONT - Wanda Mae Carter, 53, of Beechmont, died Nov. 5, 2002, at her residence.
Born December 12, 1948 in Muhlenberg County, she was a homemaker and a member of Richardson Chapel General Baptist Church.
She is survived by four brothers, James Wood of Kankakee, Ill., Harrison Wood of Ozark, Ala., Glenn Wood of Manteno, Ill. and Wayne Wood of Bradley, Ill.; one sister, Shirley Griffith Melton of Central City and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Nov.10 at Tucker Funeral Home in Beechmont with Rev. T. H. Davis officiating. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Dorothy Mae Perez
Dorothy Mae Perez, 75, of Central City, died Nov. 8, 2002, at her residence.
Born May 25, 1927 in Springfield, AL, she was a homemaker and of the Catholic faith.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas Oscar (Wendy) Perez of Stokesdale, NC and John Anthony (Patricia)Terrance of Earlville, Ill.; two daughters, Dorothy Jean Gray and Yvonne Marie (Timothy R.) Groves, both of Central City; eight grandchildren, Jess Williard Gray, Jennifer Lynn Gray, Trevor Andrew Perez, Tavia Marie Groves, Maegan Leandra Groves, Timothy Ray Groves, Jr., Cory John Terrance and Daniel Terrance; one great-grandchild, four brothers, Eugene Hudgins of Georgia, Lawrence Hudgins of Alton, Ill., Gordon Hudgins of Bennettsville, SC, and Hubert Hudgins of Montgomery, Ala.; three sisters, Diana Hudgins and Gayle Hudgins, both of Georgia, and Mildred Phillips of Sylacauga, Ala.

Juanita Nell Vincent
BREMEN - Juanita Nell Vincent, 81, of Bremen, died Nov. 10, 2002, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born May 22, 1921 in Muhlenberg County, she was a homemaker and a member of Luzerne General Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Jimmy Vincent of Evansville and Perry Vincent of Drakesboro; three daughters, Janice Mills of Bolingbrook, IL, Lou Garst of Evansville and Saundra Fleming of Greenville; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one brother, Bernice Sallee of Bremen.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 5 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov.13 at 11 a.m., also at Tucker Funeral Home, with Rev. Joe Pharris officiating, assisted by Rev. Walter Evitts. Burial will follow in Shavers Chapel Cemetery in Bremen. Tucker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Margaret Kathleen Risinger
JEFFERSON, IN - Margaret Kathleen Risinger, 80, of Jefferson, Ind., formerly of Central City, died Nov. 11, 2002 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville.
Born June 29, 1922 in Muhlenberg County, she was a homemaker and a member of Eastview Community Church of God.
She is survived by one son, Doug Lacefield of Jeffersonville; four daughters, Brenda Bullen of Sellersburg, Ind., Melanie Weyer of Charlestown, Ind., and Anita Slaughter and Karen Sutton, both of Jeffersonville; 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 5 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 10 a.m., also at Tucker Funeral Home, with Rev. Jeff Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Nebo Cemetery. Tucker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Jerry Lee Nunley
Jerry Lee Nunley, 64, of Central City, died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2002, at his residence.
Born July 31, 1938 in Muhlenberg County, he was a retired coal miner and a member of Bremen Apostolic Church in Bremen. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines.
He is survived by three sons and daughter-in-laws, Jerry Todd and Lisa Nunley of Bremen, Darren and Teresa Nunley of Central City and Jeffery and Dana Nunley of Bremen; one daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Kevin Bailey of Central City; 13 grandchildren; one brother, Terry Nunley of Nashville; and one sister, June Doss of Berwin, Ill..
