Survivors include a son, Troy Steele of Brazil, Ind.; a sister, Susan Haley of Newburgh; an aunt, Murphy Watson of Hixson, Texas; and a grandson.
Graveside funeral services were held Oct. 9 at Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville. Alexander Newburgh Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Imogene G. Edwards
Imogene G. Edwards, 77, died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004 at her residence in Central City.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Dec. 4, 1926, she was a member of First Baptist Church in Central City and retired from office work. She was preceded in death by her husband Shelby “Scutter” Edwards.
Survivors include a son, Terry D. Edwards of Louisville; a daughter, Karen Thompson of Greenville; two brothers, Woodrow Gamblin of Central City and Norman Gamblin of Flossmor, Ill.; two sisters, Helen Hickman of Central City and Frances Brown of Bremen; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Oct. 10 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Lowery officiating. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City.
Danny Wayne Hunt
DRAKESBORO Danny Wayne Hunt, 48, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004 at his residence in Ennis.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Aug. 13, 1956, he was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Lee Hunt, and a brother, John Paul Hunt.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Hunt; two sons, Johnathan Randell Benson and Anthony Wayne Hunt; his mother, Myrtle Hunt; a brother, Randy Hunt; a sister, Diane Gossom; and a grandchild, all of Drakesboro; several nieces and nephews; and a great niece.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Oct. 9 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. T.H. Davis officiating. Burial followed in Peanut Cemetery in Drakesboro.
Larry Douglas Ferguson, Sr.
BEAVER DAM Larry Douglas Ferguson, Sr., 59, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004 in the Beaver Dam Health Center after a lengthy illness.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Nov. 15, 1944, to the late Everett Ray Ferguson and Francis Cristine Carter Ferguson, he was a sewing and chair factory worker. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lyndell Wayne Ferguson and a sister, Janice Sue Hunt.
Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Barbara Ann Bethel Ferguson; a son, Larry Douglas Ferguson, Jr. of Drakesboro; three brothers, Carl Lee Ferguson of Hendersonville, Ky., Danny Ray Ferguson of Madisonville and David Allen Ferguson of Greenville; a sister, Barbara Kay Hunt of Rochester; and two granddaughters.
Graveside funeral services were held at noon, Oct. 9 at Oak Grove Cemetery in Depoy with the Rev. Paul Drury officiating. Gary’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Joseph Lynn Simmons
POWDERLY Joseph Lynn Simmons, 21, died Monday, Oct. 4, 2004 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Sept. 30, 1983, he was employed at Burger King.
Survivors include his wife, Tabitha (Callahan) Simmons; a son, Jakob Thomas Simmons of Central City; a daughter, Angelia Lynn Simmons of Powderly; his mother, Patty Horton of Powderly; his father, Henry Thomas Simmons of Central City; stepmother, Carolyn Simmons of Central City; five brothers, Joshua Walker and Hank Simmons, both of Central City, Paul Walker Jr. of Greenville, Jonathan Shelton of Powderly and Timothy Thomas of Millersville, Ga.; three sisters, Katie Jean-Anne Simmons of Central City and Stephanie and Brittany Brown, both of Millersville, Ga.; and grandparents, Aloysius and Irene Smith and Robert Jesse Simmons, all of Powderly, and Glen and Nola Pierce of Greenville.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Oct. 7 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Pleasant officiating. Burial followed in Friendship Cemetery in Greenville.
Troy Jones, Jr.
BREMEN Troy Jones, Jr., 74, died Monday, Oct. 4, 2004 at his residence.
Born in Muhlenberg County, May 20, 1930, he was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Central City and a retired coal miner for Peabody Coal Company. He was an active UMWA Local president, a member of the Bremen Masonic Lodge and a former sergeant in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include a son, Troy Wayne Jones of Central City; two daughters, Lisa Jones and Judy Conway, both of Bremen; an aunt, Anna Vincent of Central City; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Oct. 8 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Leroy Rearden officiating. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City.
Frank Murrey Wells
KIRKMANSVILLE Frank Murrey Wells, 85, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 2004 at his residence of natural causes.
Born in Todd County, Aug. 21, 1919, to the late Leton V. Wells and Carrie Elizabeth Vanhooser Wells, he was a farmer and a timber cutter. He was a member of Kirkmansville Church of Christ and an U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nola Mae Wells in 1997.
Survivors include his second wife, Thelma J. Wells; two sons, Keith Wells of Kirkmansville and Kent Wells of Allegre; a stepson, Elvin McGhee of Lake Malone; a daughter, Martha E. Hester of Lacy; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Oct. 12 at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton with Joe Dunn officiating. Burial followed in Johnston Cemetery.
Matthew “Matt” Frank Andresen
GREENVILLE Matthew “Matt” Frank Andresen, 27, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004 in an automobile accident in Siren, Wisconsin.
Born in Owatonna, Minn., June 21, 1977, the son of Hans Lewis Andresen and Debbie Merline Bivins Andresen, he was a carpenter working construction and of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by a brother, Travis Cory Andresen, in Sept. 2003.
Survivors include his parents; two brothers, Josh Andresen of Madisonville and Christian Andresen of Bremen; a grandparent, Myrtle Skalicky of Owatonna, Minn.; six nieces and nephews; and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Oct. 13 at Gary’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Fred Harrison officiating. Visitation will be held after 9 a.m., Oct. 13. Burial will follow in Cherry Grove Cemetery in Weir.
Esther Eiline Adams Sears
GREENVILLE Esther Eiline Adams Sears, 94, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 2004 in the Muhlenberg Community Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born in Todd County, Aug. 21, 1910, to the late John William Edward Adams and Cordilla Belle Wolf Adams, she was a member of Collier Springs Baptist Church in Elkton and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Coleman Wesley Sears in 1995.
Survivors include a brother, Amos Adams of McDaniels, Ky.; a stepdaughter, Martha Ann Riggs of Louisville; and a stepson, Wilbur Sears of Evansville, Ind.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Oct. 12 at Gary’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary McAbee officiating. Burial followed in Glenwood Cemetery in Elkton.
Carl Clyde Shrull
RUSSELLVILLE Carl Clyde Shrull, 88, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2006, at the Logan Memorial Hospital.
Born in Logan County Oct. 25, 2006, to the late Charlie and Mamie Pogue Shrull, he was a farmer and member of Concord Baptist Church and attended Southern Heights Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Winona Shrull; two sons, Randall Shrull of Sikeston, Mo. and Dale Shrull of Russellville; four daughters, Rita Woodall, Jayne Cox, Sharon Harper and Donna Arnold, all of Russellville; one step-son, Glennis Porter of Penrod; three step-daughters, Debbie Mullen of Greenville, Angie Mullen of Lewisburg and Renee Stratton of Russellville; one brother, Charles Shrull, Jr., of Centertown; three sisters, Ella Desper of Clarksville, Ind., Dorothy James of Sturgis and Nina Murphy of Owensboro; 27 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Oct. 2 at Southern Heights Baptist Church with Bro. Chris Short, Bro. Carl Freudenthal and Bro. Chris Phillips officiating. Burial followed in Russellville Memorial Gardens.

Christopher James Barnett
SACRAMENTO Christopher James Barnett died Monday, Oct. 2, 2006, in Sacramento.
He was an avid sportsman and gunsmith and had won several trophies in archery competition. He was a lifetime member of the Order of Demolay. He was a member of the Sacramento United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, James M. Barnett, and his granddad, Herman Ellsworth Patterson, Jr.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Pam and Bob Jennings of Sacramento; a step-mother, Gwyn Barnett of Panther, Ky.; two sisters, Sarah Burrough of Sacramento and Laryssa Traylor of Owensboro; a step-brother, Robby Jennings of Birmingham, Ala.; a step-sister, Audra Sublett of Columbus, Oh.; two grandmothers, Sarah Belle Patterson of Sacramento and Martine Barnett of Calhoun; a step-great-grandmother, Emma Patterson of Sacramento; five nieces; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Oct. 6 at the Sacramento Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery with the Rev. Jesse Johnson officiating.

GREENVILLE Barbara Jewell Woods, 65, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville.
She was born in Muhlenberg County Aug. 26, 1941.
Survivors include a son, Rodney Dewayne Woods of Ill.; two daughters, Tina Marie Woods of Greenville and Sheila Irene Cropper of Nortonville; two brothers, Clemon Dukes, Jr. of Powderly and Freddie Joe Dukes of Cleaton; two sisters, Edith Brown of Powderly and Lois Ann Baize of Greenville; and six grandchildren.

Dorothy M. Williams
Dorothy M. Williams, 91, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2006, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville.
Born in Crittenden County Aug. 24, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Willie and John Moore. She was a member of Marion Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Shelby Williams; a son, Robert L. Perryman; four brothers; and one sister.
Survivors include a son, John S. Williams of Central City; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Oct. 7 at Myers Funeral Home in Marion with the Rev. John East officiating. Burial followed in Mapleview Cemetery in Marion.
Stacy Renee Stanley
GREENVILLE Stacy Renee Stanley, 43, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006, at Maple Manor Nursing Home in Greenville.
Born in Madisonville July 10, 1963, she was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Christopher Piper.
Survivors include her mother, Mary Stewart; her father, Sonny Presley; her step-mother, Wilma Presley; two sons, Dale Piper and Jacoby Piper; a sister, Leah Michelle Dixon; two brothers, Bart Presley and Keith Presley; a step-sister, Marissa Terry; and two step-brothers, Stan Spence and Jason Spence.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Oct. 7 at Audubon Nazarene Church in Owensboro with the Rev. Doug Grant officiating.

DRAKESBORO Jake “Rag Mop” Pryor, 80, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006, at his residence.
Born in Muhlenberg County April 14, 1926, he was a member of the Central City Church of Christ. He was a retiree from Chrysler and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Dimple Harris Pryor; a son, Garland (Kerri) Pryor of Beechmont; two daughters, Coneathea (Mike) Drake of Central City and Norma (Mark) Lee of Morgantown; a brother, Dawes (Ann) Pryor of Drakesboro; three grandsons, Eric Lee, Jason Lee and Bryan Pryor; a granddaughter, Brittany Pryor Pogue; and two great-grandchildren, Gianna Lee and Gage Lee.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 8 at Tucker Funeral Home with Mr. James Neeley officiating. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City.
