Born in Muhlenberg County Sept. 11, 1979, she was the daughter of Patricia Zackery and John Zackery. She was a homemaker and a member of the Central City Church of God. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lack and Josephine Zackery.
Survivors include her husband, Ronnie O’Kelly; a son, Zackery; three daughters, Brittany, Brandi and Breanna; her mother; her father; two brothers, John Zackery and Mike Zackery and her grandparents, Anna Jean and Kenneth Randall.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Oct. 3 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Jewell Martin officiating. Burial followed in New Harmony Cemetery in Bremen.
Keira LaRae White
Keira LeRae White, infant, died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2005 at the Methodist Hospital in Henderson, Ky.
Born in Henderson, Ky. Sept. 29, 2005, she was the daughter of Dusty Byrd and David White of Central City. She was preceded in death by a sister, Raylee Byrd.
Survivors include her parents; her grandparents, Cindy Byrd of Madisonville, Andy Byrd of Uniontown and Judy White of Hopkinsville; her great-grandparents, Sylvester and Ada Vaught of Central City and Ida Byrd of Uniontown and two aunts, Carrie Byrd of Central City and Syreeta White of Hopkinsville.
Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Oct. 4 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City with the Rev. Leroy Vaught officiating. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Verner Raymond “Jr.” Bryan
POWDERLY - Verner Raymond “Jr.” Bryan, 83, died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2005 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Muhlenberg County Sept. 21, 1922, he was a member of Mercer Baptist Church. He was a retired coal miner formerly employed by P&M Coal Company in Drakesboro and well known as both a musician and guitarist. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, and a son, Billy Bryan.
Survivors include a daughter, Jean (Tom) Moody of Greenville; three grandchildren, Bryan Moody of Bowling Green, Patrick Bryan of Camden, Tenn. and Jennette Mathis of Greenville; seven great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Oct. 4 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Curtis McGehee officiating. Burial followed in Memorial Gardens in Powderly.
Katheryn McElvain
BEECHMONT - Katheryn McElvain, 90, died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2005 at her residence.
Born in Muhlenberg County May 12, 1915, she was a homemaker and member of the Belton Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Odie McElvain; a daughter, Freida Simonson and a son, Raymond MeElvain.
Survivors include her husband, Adrian Jones of Central City; two sons, Tom (Mae) McElvain of Beechmont and Gary (Olga) McElvain of Dunedin, Fla.; a daughter, Kay (Gary) Silcox of Tennessee; three sisters, Bea Elschide of Owensboro, Novella Lynch of Graham and Jean Mayes of Central City; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Oct. 5 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Loney officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City. Visitation will be held after 1 p.m. Oct. 5 at Tucker Funeral Home.
Bobby Dean Hunt
BEECHMONT - Bobby Dean Hunt, 74, died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2005 at his residence.
Born in Muhlenberg County Feb. 16, 1931, he attended Mt. Moriah Church of Christ in Dunmor. He was a factory worker and previously employed by Swift Packing Company.
Survivors include a sister, Margie Nell Vance of Illinois and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Oct. 4 at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home with the Rev. Leroy Rearden officiating. Burial followed in New Hebron Cemetery in Dunmor.
Rev. Ted Lewis Shipp
FORT WRIGHT, KY - Rev. Ted Lewis Shipp, 54, died Sunday, Sept. 18, 2005 at his residence.
Born in Owensboro Nov. 3, 1950, he was the son of Dr. Charles J. Shipp of Greenville and the late Martha Shultz Shipp. He was the pastor of Trinity United Methodist in Latonia, Ky., was a member and served on the Kentucky Conference of the United Methodist Church for 25 years. The church was his whole life.
Survivors include a daughter, Ella Grace Shipp of Owensboro; a son, Sam Shipp of Owensboro, his father; and a sister, Barbara Ruffalo of Sarasota, Fla.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Oct. 8 at Greenville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Vernon Perdue officiating. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville. Ola Yvonne Bard
GREENVILLE - Ola Yvonne Bard, 56, died Friday, Sept. 30, 2005 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.
Born in Muhlenberg County Nov. 29, 1948, she was the daughter of Gertrude Drake of Greenville and the late William Drake. She was employed as a C.N.A. by Belle Meade Nursing Center in Greenville and a member of the Church of Christ of Latter Day Saints in Greenville. She was preceded in death by a brother, DeCarlos Drake.
Survivors include a son, Clarence Bard of Depoy; a daughter, Angela Bard of Greenville; her mother; five brothers, William (Mary) Drake of Indianapolis, Ind., Kenneth (Debra) Drake of Beaver Dam, Randall Drake and William Drake, both of Madisonville and Allen (Brenda) Drake of Providence; seven sisters, Cozetta Drake, Wilodean (Billy) Ellis, Mary Jean (George) Baker, Freda Drake and Patricia Drake, all of Greenville, Bernice (David) Baker of Louisville and Reda (Jerry) Reynolds of White Plains; four grandchildren, Jhaunte Bard, Keaira Bard, JaCory Bard and Nautica Oldham and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Oct. 5 at Tucker Funeral Home with Elder Hubert Robinson and Bishop Rick Hoskins officiating. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Oct. 5 at Tucker Funeral Home.
Amanda Avanell Sweeney
LEWISBURG Amanda Avanell Sweeney, 84, died Friday, Oct. 1, 2004 at her residence.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Nov. 4, 1919, to the late Clarence Wagoner and Mary Adeline Wagoner, she was a homemaker and a member of Penrod Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Herman Sweeney; a daughter, Wanda Faye Sweeney; and a son, Billy Joe Sweeney.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary E. Ford of Valparaiso, Ind., Joyce Madden of Rochester and Belinda K. Hildabrand of Lewisburg; three sons, Donald Sweeney of Dunmor and Kenneth Wayne Sweeney and Tony Sweeney, both of Lewisburg; a sister, Maxine Teague of Greenville; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Oct. 5 at Price Funeral Home in Lewisburg with the Rev. Jason Sharp officiating. Burial followed in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Greenville.
Lois Ruth Nole
Lois Ruth Nole, 72, died Friday, Oct. 1, 2004 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Evansville, Ind.
Born in Butler County, Sept. 4, 1932, she was a homemaker and a member of the Nazarene Church.
Survivors include three sons, Walter Nole of Central City, James Nole of Sebree and Harold Nole of Madisonville; a daughter, Valdean Davenport of Central City; two sisters, Jesse McCoy of Morgantown and Helen Kelm of Marion, Ind.; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Oct. 3 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Curtis McGehee officiating. Burial followed in Fairmount Cemetery in Central City.
Frances JoAnn Craddock
GREENVILLE Frances JoAnn Craddock, 71, died Monday, Sept. 27, 2004 at her residence following a lengthy illness.
Born in Christian County, March 11, 1933, to the late Roy and Thelma Sellars Hight, she had lived in Greenville since 1957. She was a member of the First Christian Church, a volunteer at the Muhlenberg Community Hospital, an active bridge player and a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Craddock in 1981.
Survivors include a son, Jerry Thomas Craddock of Utica; and a sister, Dorothy Ricks of Soddy Daisy, Tenn.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Oct. 1 at Gary’s Funeral Home with the Rev. George Thompson and the Rev. C.W. Duncan officiating. Burial followed in Ridgetop Cemetery in Crofton.

Robert “Bobby” Bullock
BREMEN Robert “Bobby” Bullock, 67, died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004 at his residence.
Born in Muhlenberg County, March 23, 1937, to the late Girlie and Maymee Bullock, he was a retired farmer, a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and a U.S. Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Allen Bullock; two stepdaughters, Tina and Keri Vincent, both of Bremen; a brother, Larry Joe Bullock of Louisville; three sisters, Wilma Sullivan of Hopkinsville, Barbara Robinson of Bremen and Sandy Flener of South Carrollton; and a grandson, Dillon, of Bremen.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Oct. 3 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Leroy Rearden officiating. Burial followed in Bethlehem Cemetery in Bremen.
Gladys Marie Walker Winsett
POWDERLY Gladys Marie Walker Winsett, 80, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2004 in the Vanderbilt University Medical Center after a short illness.
Born in Bevier, Ky., July 30, 1924, to the late John Thomas Walker and Lillie Lee Kirkman Walker, she was a homemaker and a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Larkin Winsett in 1982, and a daughter, Barbara Knight on Sept. 11, 2004.
Survivors include a son, Douglas (Diane) Winsett of West Plains, Mo.; four daughters, Phyllis Groves, Deborah Durham and Sara Winsett, all of Greenville, and Rosa (Randy) Jackson of Crofton; a son-in-law, David Knight of Lewisburg; a brother, James Franklin Walker of Greenville; a sister, Virginia Willis of Elkton; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren.

Thomas C. Morris
PLANTATION, FLA. Thomas C. Morris, 83, died Friday, Sept. 24, 2004.
Born in Muhlenberg County, to the late Andrew and Ola Morris, he retired from Westinghouse Electric Corp. in Chicago, Ill. after 35 years of service and was a World War II veteran having served in the Asian Theater and receiving three bronze stars for valor.
Survivors include his wife, Edulia “Dulie” Morris; three sons, Andrew, Thomas and Richard Morris; two daughters-in-law, Debbie Sparacino and Karen Morris; two sisters, Roberta (Woody) England and Jane (Marion) Reed; an aunt, Alice Morris; three grandsons, Anthony, Timothy and Daniel; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Oct. 9 at Tucker Funeral Home with Father Ben Luther officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery in Central City.
Deborah Ann Legg
OWENSBORO Deborah Ann Legg, 50, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2004 at her residence.
A native of Muhlenberg County, she was affiliated with the Church of God in Christ in Owensboro and a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Central City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lee Legg.
Survivors include her parents, Hattie Smith and Kenneth Smith of Earlington; two sons, Tony Lee Legg and Tommy Lee Legg, both of Owensboro; a daughter, Christina Sherrell Edwards of Ahoskie, N.C.; a brother, Don R. Martin of Earlington; two sisters, Helen Denise Wright of Owensboro and Sgt. Tabetha Jean Wright of Oak Grove; a step brother, Dwight Gamble of Central City; two uncles; three grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Oct. 2 at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Central City. Burial followed in West End Cemetery in Greenville. Bibbs Funeral Home in Greenville was in charge of arrangements.
Agnes Willis
EVANSVILLE Agnes Willis, 83, died Monday, Sept. 27, 2004 at Deaconess Hospital.
She was a member of Westwood General Baptist Church. She had worked for the Evansville Store and Chuck Frary Interior Decorating as a seamstress and alterations person. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Finis Willis, in 2003.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda G. Husky of Evansville; a son, W. Dale Willis of Evansville; three sisters, Pauline Stogner of Owensboro, Edna Earl Arnold of Chandler, Ind. and Joyce Ferguson of Belton; seven grandchildren; a step grandchild; two great-grandchildren; a step great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Sept. 30 at Westwood General Baptist Church with pastor John O. Sloan officiating. Burial followed in Alexander Memorial Park. Alexander West Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
