ADAMSVILLE, TENN. ­ Timothy Jason Hunt, 25, died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2006, at McNairy Regional Hospital in Selmer , Tenn.
Born in Selmer, Tenn. Jan. 31, 1981, the son of Brenda Willis Hunt and Dean Hunt, he was a construction worker.
Survivors include his parents, Brenda Willis Hunt and Dean Hunt, both of Adamsville, Tenn.; a brother, Brad Hunt of Dresden, Tenn.; two uncles, Ronnie Hunt and David Willis; two aunts, Linda McIntosh and Deborah Evans; a great-uncle, Billy Willis; and two nephews.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Aug. 12 with Larry Reagan officiating at Riverside Cemetery in Drakesboro. Shackelford Funeral Home of Selmer, Tenn. was in charge of arrangements.

Dallas “Pete” Bevil

BEECHMONT ­ Dallas “Pete” Bevil, 67, died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2006, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Muhlenberg County Sept. 22, 1938, he was a retired coal miner.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Miller Bevil; two daughters, Michelle Uzzle of Belton and Kelli Williams of Beechmont; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and three sisters, Ann Wilson of Central City, Alice Webster of Evansville, Ind., and Jean Nelson of Owensboro.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Aug. 13 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Uzzle, Jr., officiating. Burial followed at Bluff Cemetery in Central City.

Thomas Jackson Craig

DUNMOR ­ Thomas Jackson Craig, 76, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2006, at his home.
Born in Chicago, Ill. Dec. 31, 1929, he was preceded in death by his wife.
Survivors include four daughters, Barbara Craig, Mary Craig and Sandra Alexander, all of Dunmor and Kandy Keller of Indiana; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Aug. 11 at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Winters officiating. Burial followed in Penrod Cemetery.

Margaret McIntosh

GREENVILLE ­ Margaret McIntosh, 81, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2006, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital following a brief illness.
Born in Muhlenberg County May 29, 1925, she was a homemaker and a member of Olive Grove General Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arvil McIntosh; a son, Ernie McIntosh; a daughter, Becky Smith; a granddaughter, Angie; her parents, Shelby and Nettie Jones; two brothers, Clifton and Clettus Jones; and a sister, Etheline Jones.
Survivors include three sons, Carol (Minnie) McIntosh of Bowling Green, Jimmy (Shirley) McIntosh of Greenville and Ronnie (Debbie) McIntosh of Powderly; two daughters, Martha (Donald) Dockery of Greenville and Priscilla (Elvis) Edwards of Madisonville; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four brothers, C.W. Jones of Hopkinsville, Wayne Jones of Edwardsville, Ill., Brank Jones of Greenville and Freddie Jones of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and five sisters, Lee Pickering of Hammond, Ind., Dean Brooks of Greenville, Sue Costellow of Russellville, Janie Skipworth of Clifty, Ky. and Barbara Richards of Clarksville.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Aug. 11 at Olive Grove General Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Day and the Rev. Phillip Bennett officiating. Burial followed in Olive Grove Cemetery. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Ralph Monroe Mahan

BEAUMONT, TX. ­ Ralph Monroe Mahan, 70, died Saturday, July 29, 2006, in Beaumont, Tx.
Born in Muhlenberg County Oct. 17, 1936, the son of the late Ralph T. Mahan and Charlotte Monroe Mahan, he served in the U.S. Army, then retired from Mobil Oil after 37 years.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Cindy Mahan; a sister, Jan Mahan of San Antonio; a brother, David Mahan of Rockville, Md.; nine cousins, Billy Mason of Orange Beach, Al., Mattie Jo Mason Hicks, Billy Wynn Hicks, Lisa Hicks Gilbert, Melanie Hicks Bingham, Missy Mason and Perry Mason, all of Montgomery, Ala., and Marty Mason of St. Louis, Mo.; five nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and a special god-child, Gentry Lovett.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Aug. 2 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with full military honors.

Barbara Just Davis

MADISONVILLE ­ Barbara Just Davis, 57, died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2006, at the Regional Medical Center.
Born in Louisville, Ky. Jan. 27, 1949, to the late Emil Frank Just and Elnora Greenwood Just, she taught school for 35 years. She was a member of the Mortons Gap Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband, Allen F. Davis; two sons, Reid Allen Davis of Madisonville and Kyle J. Davis of Champaign, Ill.; one brother, Paul J. Just of Bowling Green; one aunt; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Aug. 13 at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Brother Kevin Jett officiating. Burial followed in the Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Memorials may take the form of donations to the Show-Me Christian Youth Home, P.O. Box 6, Lamonte, Mo. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.

Lauretta M. Adkins

POWDERLY ­ Lauretta M. Adkins, 73, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2006 at Owensboro Medical Health System.
Born in West Virginia Feb. 8, 1933, she was a retired Office Clerk at Sugar Creek Mine.
Survivors include three sons, Edward K. (Sabrina) Evans of Utica, Stevie R. Evans of Martin, Tenn. and Michael H. (Nicole) Evans of Owensboro; three daughters, Jacqueline (Bruce) Evans-Lee of Livia, Ky., Cathie (Stanley) Evans-Lambert of Greenville and Teresa (Joe) Evans-Marcum of Louisville; 16 grandchildren, Lisa Ann Evans, Dean Elliott (Lisa) Hope, Stevie Evans, Jr., Jeffrey Lynn Sullivan, Melissa (John) Evans-Katona, Scott Travis Marcum, Amanda (John) Evans-Brooks, Randy Joe (Nina) Marcum, Justin Lambert, Catrinia Lauretas Lambert, Barry Tyler Evans, Luciona Lauretta Evans, Benjamin Q. Lee, Michael J. Lee, Amy Lynn Marcum and Haley Owen; nine great-grandchildren, Andrew, Stevie, Victoria, Johnathan, Anthony, Abigail, Maddie, Jordan, Kyle; five brothers, Edgar Adkins, Curtis Adkins, Carroll Adkins, Timothy Adkins and Richard Adkins, all of Wayne, W. Va.; and one sister, Sharon Aliff of W. Va.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Aug. 15 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Tondra Daugherty officiating. Burial followed in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Powderly.

William Donald “Red” Parker

SACRAMENTO ­ William Donald “Red” Parker, 72, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2006, at his residence.
Born in Christian County May 12, 1935, he was a farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Nelda Dame Parker; four sons, Gary Parker and Teddy Parker, both of Sacramento, Delbert Parker of Island and Scotty Parker of Central City; a daughter, Rose Sinnett of Crofton; nine grandchildren; nine great-children; and a sister, Delois Williams of Evansville.
Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Aug. 13 at Poplar Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Ronnie Dame officiating. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Haley Faithanne Gardner

DRAKESBORO ­ Haley Faithanne Gardner, infant, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006, at the Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Greenville, Aug. 12, 2006, she was the daughter of Amy Lynn Duncan and David Lee Gardner of Drakesboro. She was preceded in death by a sister, Rachel Mecheal Gardner.
Survivors include her parents; three brothers, Dakota Shane Gardner of Powderly, Zackery Lee Gardner and Dawson Ray Gardner, both of Drakesboro; two grandmothers, Wilma Jean Brewer of Drakesboro and Judy Ann Underwood of Greenville; a grandfather, Bobby Lane Loney of Madisonville; a step-grandmother, Debbie Loney of Madisonville; and two great-grandmothers, Betty Loney of Central City and Elenor Garrett of Drakesboro.
Graveside services were held at 12:30 p.m. Aug. 15 with the Rev. Ted Everly officiating at Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Paul Deon Cobb
MADISONVILLE - Paul Deon Cobb, 33, of Madisonville, died Saturday, Aug. 2, in Louisville.
Born Sept. 15, 1969 in Chicago, he was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Douglas Cobb in February of 2000, his father, Paul Ray Cobb in April of 2002; and his mother, Mildred Jean Cobb in October of 2002.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Tina P. Cobb of Madisonville; half sister, Lisa Dotty of Henderson; two half brothers, Allan Brown of Indianapolis, Ind., and Kenny Brown of Niagra, Ky.; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 5, at Gary’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Drury officiating. Burial followed in Oak Grove Cemetery in Depoy.

Ruth Durall

GREENVILLE - Ruth Durall, 83, of Greenville, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2003, at her residence following a lengthy illness.
Born Feb. 9, 1920 in Muhlenberg County, she was the daughter of John Ward and Ethel Skimehorn Ward. She retired from Muhlenberg Community Hospital in 1987 after 15 years as a nurse. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Harralson Durall, in 1962; and son, James E. Durall in 1986.
She is survived by five grandchildren, James Craig Durall, Brant Tyler Durall, Clint Harralson Durall, Jami Durall Wayne, all of Greenville, and Bryce Franklin Durall of Madisonville; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Guynelle Lear of Greenville; and one brother, John Ward of Greenville.
Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 8, at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville with the Rev. Paul Drury officiating. Burial followed in Concord Cemetery in White Plains.

Bobbie Darrell Knight

GREENVILLE - Bobbie Darrell Knight, 71, of Greenville, died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2003, at his residence.
Born May 29, 1932 in Muhlenberg County, he was retired as an operator from L.T.V. Steele in Chicago, Ill. He was also a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Drakesboro.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Benson Knight; one son, Ron Knight of Hampton, Tenn.; two daughters, Rita Strifler and Connie Pursley, both of Greenville; 12 grandchildren; and two brothers, Jerry Knight and Levon Knight, both of Drakesboro.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 9, at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City.

James L. McGehee

GREENVILLE - James L. McGehee, 78, of Greenville, died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2003, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville following a lengthy illness.
Born Feb. 20, 1925 in Todd County, he was the son of James Harvey McGehee and Elizabeth Baggett McGehee. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army during World War II and he attended Jernigan’s Chapel United Methodist Church. He retired from farming in 1992 and from the Muhlenberg County Board of Education after 17 years as a bus driver. He was preceded in death by one son, Curtis Elwood McGehee in 1973; and a granddaughter, Davina Ward in 1979.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joyce Roberson McGehee of Greenville; two daughters, Vita (Bucky) Ward of Penrod and Teresa (Gary Aders) Moore of Greenville; one son, Kevin (Tammy) McGehee of Greenville; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one twin sister, Christa Belle McGehee of Owensboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 9, at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville with the Revs. Adam Brown and George Phillips officiating. Burial followed in Jernigan’s Chapel Cemetery in Greenville.

Vada Whitaker Samples

ASHLAND, VA. - Vada Whitaker Samples, 85, of Ashland, Va., died Monday, Aug. 3, in the Memorial Hospital in Ashland following several months illness.
Born March 27, 1918 in Muhlenberg County, she was the daughter of John Wesley Whitaker and Minnie McElvain Whitaker. She had lived in Virginia for more than sixty years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, J. K. Samples; a daughter, Jane Carol Samples; four brothers, Walter Whitaker, Henry Whitaker, Omer Whitaker and Herman Whitaker; and two sisters, Lou Mayes and Duera Middleton Fitzhugh.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 9, at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville with the Revs. Leroy Rearden and Ernest Mason officiating. Burial followed in Yeargins Chapel Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Yeargins Chapel Cemetery Fund.

Lyndle Lee Walker

ELKTON - Lyndle Lee Walker, 74, of Elkton, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, at his residence of natural causes.
Born Sept. 24, 1928 in Muhlenberg County, he was the son of the late Elga Lee Walker and Flora Bell Graham Walker. He was a member of New Harmony General Baptist Church and was retired from Emerson Electric. He was a veteran, having served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by one sister, Jean Mallory of Elkton; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 8, at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton with the Rev. Bob Bullock officiating. Burial followed in the Bivins-New Harmony Cemetery.
