BEECHMONT Reva Nell (Jenkins) Wright, 87, died Tuesday, July 27, 2004 at Muhlenberg County Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Jan. 19, 1917, to the late Victor and Eva Jenkins, she was the third child of four. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank E. Wright; a brother, Melvin Shelby Jenkins; and a sister, Bernice McLemore.
Reva was a 1935 graduate of Hughes - Kirk High School and attended Bowling Green Business University where she went on to work in offices in Louisville and Greenville as an astute, capable businesswoman. She and her husband owned the Frigid Whip ice cream business in Drakesboro. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Drakesboro where she and her late husband served faithfully. In 1987 she was presented a plaque from the church for her 31 years of service as church clerk. She was active in the Eastern Star, member of the Gideons International, and distributed nurses’ testaments in hospitals in Muhlenberg County.
She is survived by her only child, Frank E. (Nora) Wright Jr. of Beechmont; a brother, Tom (Harriett) Jenkins; and four nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. July 29 at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville. Memorial gifts may be sent to the First Baptist Church in Drakesboro or to Gideons International Bible Society in Lebanon, Tenn.
Helen Louise Fair
CLEVELAND, TEXAS Helen Louise Fair, 88, formerly of Murray Ky., died Wednesday, July 28, 2004 at her residence in Cleveland, Texas.
She was born May 20, 1916 and was preceded in death by her husband, Rawley Daniel Fair.
Survivors include her son, Rawley Fair; two daughters, Fran Norwood and Ann Kebodeaux, both of Cleveland, Texas; 5 grandchildren; and 4 great - grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Aug. 1 at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Stovall officiating. Burial followed in Hayden Cemetery in Drakesboro.
James Howard Sims
ALLEGRE James Howard Sims, 92, died Thursday, July 29, 2004 at Hearthstone Place in Elkton following an illness.
Born in Muhlenberg County, March 28, 1912, to the late Lewis Harvey and Eva Mae Watkins Sims, he was a retired coal miner, retired from Western State Hospital, an air force veteran and a member of Westside Church of Christ in Elkton. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Anita Jo Shemwell.
Survivors include his wife, Alta Cox Sims.
Graveside services and burial took place at 4 p.m. July 31 at Horton’s Chapel Cemetery in Muhlenberg County with the Rev. Tommy Wilhite officiating. Latham Funeral Home in Elkton was in charge of arrangements.
James Gilbert Wester
LAFAYETTE, TENN. James Gilbert Wester, 31, died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004 at Macon County General Hospital in Lafayette, Tenn.
He was born in Muhlenberg County, Feb. 20, 1973.
Survivors include his wife, Denise Young; his parents, Brent and Beverly Forrest of Lafayette, Tenn.; a step son, Danny Lee Boggess of Ashland City, Tenn.; four brothers, James Forrest of Bowling Green, Jerry Forrest of Franklin, Tenn. and Brian and William Forest, both of Lafayette, Tenn.; a sister, Vanessa Wester of Lafayette, Tenn.; and two nieces.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Aug. 4 at Tucker Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Aug. 3.
Pearl Elizabeth Edwards
SLAUGHTERS Pearl Elizabeth Edwards, 78, died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Sept. 9, 1929, she was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Nevel “Curley” Edwards; two daughters, Joyce Ann Crabtree of Greenville and Mary Christine Wieczorek of Monterey, Ind.; a brother, James Warner of Bremen; two sisters, Aline Latham of Greenville and Evelyn Lively of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; 16 great - grandchildren; and three great - great - grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Aug. 3 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Leroy Rearden officiating. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City.
Dora Forest Drake
BELTON Dora Forest Drake, 88, died Saturday, July 31, 2004 at Maple Manor Health Care in Greenville.
Born in Logan County, May 27, 1916, she was a homemaker and a member of Forest Oak Baptist Church in Belton. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Drake and a son, Doyle Drake.
Survivors include two sons, Argle Drake of Owensboro and Ronnie Drake of Belton; four daughters, Lenora Link of Griffith, Ind., Ausalene Pendley of Belton, Sue Beliles of Drakesboro and Shirley Dukes of Beechmont; a brother, Elmer Link of Griffith, Ind.; 22 grandchildren; 39 great - grandchildren; and 10 great - great - grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Aug. 2 at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Dukes and the Rev. Gene McGehee officiating. Burial followed in Mud River Union Cemetery in Belton.
Hildred E. Paxton
GREENVILLE Hildred E. Paxton died Saturday, July 31, 2004 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville.
Born in Muhlenberg County, he owned and operated Red Arrow Delivery Co. in Evansville for 25 years before retiring to his native home. He was assistant building manager of Evansville Vanderburg County School Corporation, superintendent of the Greenville Utilities Commission, executive director and board member of the Muhlenberg County Opportunity Center, past president and board member of Muhlenberg Industrial Development, Central City councilman and chairman of the Council on Aging. He was a WWII veteran and bronze star recipient and a Kentucky Colonel. He was also a member of Gideons International, Reed Lodge 32 degree Mason, Evansville Scotish Rite Temple, Greenville United Methodist Church and the Central City Rotary Club. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Paxton.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Givens Paxton; two sons, Eddie J. Paxton of Lexington and Steven H. Paxton of Lake Bluff, Ill.; a step son, Rick Givens of Siler City, N.C.; three grandchildren, Amy Mellinger and Blake and Ashley Paxton of Lexington; a step grandson, Dustin Givens; and three great - grandchildren, Blake II, Paige and Hadley.

Robert Olander Williams
DRAKESBORO Robert Olander Williams, 88, died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004 at Owensboro Medical Health System in Owensboro.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Oct. 28, 1915, he was a farmer, a member of Union Chapel General Baptist Church and a WWII veteran.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Gayle and Jeffrey Williams, both of Ennis; three grandchildren, Kris, Matthew and Trista; three step grandchildren; Denise, Cassandra and Debi; a great - grandchild, Stetson; and two step great - grandchildren, Mandi and Samuel.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Aug. 4 at Union Chapel General Baptist Church with the Rev. Kerry Vincent, the Rev. Roger Banks and the Rev. George Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in Union Chapel Cemetery in Drakesboro. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Aug. 3 at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 4 at the church.

BROWDER Martha Aileen Dickerson, 80, died Monday, Aug. 2, 2004 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville.
Born in Muhlenberg County, July 6, 1924, she was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Paul Ray “Buddy” Dickerson; a son, Tommy Darrel (Joyce Aliene) Dickerson of Beechmont; a daughter, Janet Sue (David Lonzo) Penrod of Beechmont; five grandchildren, Penny Denise (Dickerson) Knight of Georgetown, Jana Michelle (Penrod) Downing of Louisville, Beverly Dawn (Dickerson) Peterson of Greenville, Lora Renee (Penrod) Arrendell of Belton and Paula Rae (Dickerson) Adams of Nelson Creek; and eight great - grandchildren, Allison Simpson, Tiffany Downing, Bailey Peterson, Derek Downing, Sarah Peterson, Logan Adams, Drew Arrendell and Will Knight.

Imogene Smith Fulkerson
Imogene Smith Fulkerson, 61, died Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at her residence.
Born in Muhlenberg County Nov. 25, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Truman Smith and Cova Smith. She was preceded in death by a brother, Schley Smith.
Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Shirley Lee Fulkerson; two brothers, Truman Smith of Evansville, Ind. and Hobert Smith of Chandler, Ind.; two sisters, Darline “Gracie” Schroyer of Chandler, Ind. and Eyvone Rager of Bremen.
Private services were held at her residence. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Robert Raymond Craig
DUNMOR - Robert Raymond Craig, 81, died Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital after a short illness.
Born in Chicago, Ill. Nov. 30, 1923, he was the son of Thomas Craig and Florence Platt Craig. He was a factory worker, attended Penrod Baptist Church and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a brother, Thomas J. Craig of Dunmor; four nieces, Barbara Craig, Mary Craig and Sandra Alexander, all of Dunmor and Kandy Keller of Portage, Ind.; a nephew, James Craig of Dunmor and several great - nieces and great - nephews.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. July 28 at Penrod Baptist Church in Penrod with the Rev. Jerry Winters officiating. Burial followed in the Penrod Baptist Church Cemetery. Gary’s Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Born in Muhlenberg County July 20, 2005, he was the son of Amanda Johnson of Central City and Brian Knight of Greenville.
Survivors include his grandmother and step - grandfather, Wanda and Everett Dabney, of Central City; his grandfather and step - grandmother, David and Shannon Vick of Greenville; his grandmother, Janice Knight of Greenville and his grandfather, Danny Knight of Rochester.

BUCK CREEK - Christine McPherson, 82, died Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at her residence.
Born in Muhlenberg County July 18, 1923, she was a homemaker and a member of Union Chapel General Baptist Church in Ennis. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Harold McPherson, four sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include a son, Wayne McPherson of Buck Creek; a daughter, Lynn Sweeney of Livermore; three brothers, Caryle Robinson, Paul Robinson and Tommy Robinson, all of Muhlenberg County; three grandchildren and one great - grandson.

Born in Muhlenberg County Jan. 19, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Garnett and Lizzie Majors Stewart. She was a retired sales clerk from the former Atlantic Mills Department Store in Detroit and a member of the Baptist Faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Stringer, in 1967.
Survivors include two daughters, Hilda Koch of Franklin, N.C. and Lila Knight of Gainesville, Va.; five grandchildren and six great - grandchildren.

Born in Logan County Jan. 30, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Clarice Porter Field. She was a licensed insurance agent and a co - owner of the Hayden Insurance Agency in Calhoun. She was a member of the Calhoun Baptist Church and an active member of the Vienna Lodge #66 Order of Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, John K. Sunn in 1978.
Survivors include a son, David Sunn of Calhoun; a brother, Bobby Field of Owensboro; five grandchildren and 10 great - grandchildren.

She was a homemaker and had lived in Greenville since 1943. She was preceded in death by a sister, Nona Wray and two brothers, Stanley Gilbert and Maurice Gilbert.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Irvin Gibson; a daughter, Erma Simms of Greenville; a son, Jerry Dean (Pam) Gibson of Bowling Green and three grandchildren, Chris (Emily) Simms, Tabitha (Steve) Mercer and Lindsay Gibson.
