Born in Cook County Ill., Aug. 2, 1959, he was disabled and a former resident of Muhlenberg County. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Fay Sadler; a son, Jason Neil Sadler and his step - father, Scott Justice.
Survivors include his father, Cecil Sadler of Beech Creek; his mother, Eva Justice of Ripley, Tenn.; a daughter, Jessica Sadler of Beechmont; two brothers, Terry Sadler of Macon, Ga. and Randall Sadler of Carlisle, Ind.; a half - brother, Phillip Sadler of Browder and one grandson.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. July 15 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Glendel Hardison and the Rev. Marcus Hardison officiating. Burial followed at Ebenezer Cemetery in Drakesboro.
Charles Piper III
DRAKESBORO Charles Piper III, 28, died Saturday, July 15, 2006 at his residence.
He was born in Muhlenberg County Sept. 21, 1977.
Survivors include his father, Charles Piper Jr. of Nelson Creek; a daughter, Charlie Daniell Piper; two brothers, Frankie Wayne Piper of Beech Creek and Franklin Brown of Cleaton and five sisters, Kathy Robertson of Belton, Terrie Garrett and Felicia Piper, both of Powderly, Samantha Robinson of Cleaton and Jennifer Doss of Central City.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. July 19 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Fraze officiating. Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery in Cleaton.
Alma Boggess Fox
DRAKESBORO Alma Boggess Fox, 90, died Saturday July 15, 2006 at her daughter’s home in Central City.
Born in Muhlenberg County Feb. 28, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Howard and Ada Bell Oates Boggess. The youngest of 12 children, she married William Joseph Fox in 1939, who preceded her in death in 2001 after 62 years of marriage. She taught school in Muhlenberg County for 40 years from 1939 - 1979, which included her first year in a one - room school at Browder. The rest of her career she spent teaching 1st and 2nd grade at Drakesboro. She was a graduate of Ennis High School and Western Kentucky University. She enjoyed sewing, teaching young children, and talking.
Survivors include two daughters, Joanna Fox of Drakesboro and Janice Fox of Central City; three nieces, Brenda Davis of Seneca, Ill., Mary Jo Warwick of Md. and Hylda Moore of Fla. and four nephews, Billy Howard Cox of Shephardsville, Ky., Tommy Brooks of N.C., Norman Boggess of Madisonville and Darrell Boggess of Bloomington, Ind.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. July 18 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Stovall officiating. Burial followed at Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville.
Lorene M. Martin
MORRISTOWN, TENN. Lorene M. Martin, 96, died July 15, 2006 at the Morristown - Hamblin Hospital in Morristown.
Born in Butler County, Oct. 26, 1909, she was a House Parent for the Kentucky Children’s Home in Louisville and a member of the Beechmont Baptist Church in Louisville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Katie McClellan; her husband, Ben Martin; two daughters, Mary McBurney and Margaret Lowe; four brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include her daughter, Martha Russell of Morristown; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and several great - great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. July 18 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Lowe officiating. Burial followed at the Rochester Cemetery in Rochester.
Allen Dwight Richardson
DRAKESBORO Allen Dwight Richardson, 55, died July 17, 2006, at Owensboro Medical Health System.
Born in Muhlenberg County June 2, 1951, he was a member of Life and Praise Fellowship Church in Greenville and was a miner.
Survivors include his wife, Cletta Garrett Richardson; his mother, Essie Lear of Greenville; a son, Allen Dwight Richardson, II of Drakesboro; a daughter, Rebecca Gore of Greenville and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. July 19 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Steven Hibbs officiating. Burial followed at Allen’s Chapel Cemetery in Browder.
Guy Glendel Drake
GREENVILLE – Guy Glendel Drake, 79, died Monday, July 3, 2006 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital after a short illnes.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Aug 22, 1926, he was the son of the late Guy Oath Drake and Amanda Brooksie Dukes Drake. He retired in 1985 from the U.S. Postal Service where he was a mail carrier. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the Navy and was a member of Cherry Grove Church of Christ in Weir. He was preceded in death by a son, Terry Kent Drake in 2001 and a brother Bobby Lynn Drake.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Nila Jean Gates Drake; a brother, James (Jane) Drake of Greenville; three granddaughters, Kristal G. (Jim) Cobb of Greenville, Joy Blanchard of Centertown and Amanda (Dylan) Stafford of Jacksonville, Fla.; a step - granddaughter, Betsy (Colin) Nelson of Greenville; six great - grandchildren Christopher, Travis, Sarah, Autumn, Brandon and Drew; two step - great - grandchildren Kent and April and one great - great - granddaughter, Linzey.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. July 6 at Gary’s Funeral Home with Mr. Robert Gardner officiating. Burial followed at Cherry Grove Cemetery in Weir with military honors.
Sarah Jane Wilkinson
GREENVILLE – Sarah Jane Wilkinson, 83, died Sunday, July 2, 2006 at her daughter’s home in Island after several years of illness.
Born in South Bend, Ind., May 25, 1923, she was the daughter of the late John Upton Neeley and Ruby Claire Jeffers Neeley. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Greenville, where she served on the kitchen committee for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Albert Wilkinson in 2005; a grandson, Ricky Chappell in 2004 and a granddaughter, Teresa Davis in 2005.
Survivors include four daughters, Jane Gordon (Tim) Lamke of Elkton, Mary Margaret (Ronnie) Edmonds of Island, Sarah Lee (Gene) Todd of Owensboro and Jimmie Ann Wilkinson of Greenville; a sister, Margaret Wheeler of Greenville; a brother, Joseph (Sherry) Neeley of Las Vegas, Nev.; three grandchildren, Timmy Chappell, Faith Ann Mefford and Bryant Mitchell and seven great - grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. July 5 at Gary’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary McAbee officiating. Burial followed at Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville.
James Raymond Scott
James Raymond Scott, 63, died Monday, July 3, 2006 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Harlan County Jan. 12, 1943, he was a sawmill worker.
Survivors include three brothers, Walter W. Scott of Central City, Archel Scott of Hillsboro, Ohio and Denny Lane Scott of Drakesboro; four sisters, Lorene Best of Celeste, Texas, Frances White of McKenzie, Tenn., Vada Johnson of Radcliff Ky. and Faye Robertson of Utica and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. July 6 at Miller Cemetery in Cleaton with the Rev. Leroy Rearden officiating. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Myrl Tredway
OWENSBORO – Myrl Treadway, 89, died Sunday, July 2, 2006 at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tenn.
Born May 30, 1917, she was formerly of Crawford, Ill. She enjoyed cooking and sewing in her spare time. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Algona Mushrush Smith and her husband, Dale Marion Tredway.
Survivors include a daughter, Diana Tredway of Antioch, Tenn.; a son, Richard T. Tredway of Hammond, Ind.; a sister, Ramona Smith of Owensboro; a grandson, Brandon Tredway of Hammond Ind. and a great - granddaughter, Rachel Tredway of Hammond.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. July 15 at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Powderly, with Pastor John Morse officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 4770 Covert Ave., #101, Evansville, IN 47714.
Doris Lee Dukes
GREENVILLE – Doris Lee Dukes, 81, died Tuesday, July 4, 2006 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born March 3, 1925 in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Chesteen Layfette Lee and Neva Woodson Lee. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and sang in the choir all her life. An Avon representative for 30 years, she was preceded in death by one son, Kelby Gene Dukes in 1960.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Benjamin Dukes; a son, Bennie Lee Dukes of Greenville; a brother, Pascal (Margaret) Lee of Greenville; a sister, Sybil Broderick of Greenville and two grandchildren, Heather (Jason) Kempa of Atlanta and Kelby Andrew (Kasia) Dukes of Huntsville, Ala.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. July 6 at Gary’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Vincent officiating. Burial followed at Friendship Cemetery in Greenville

Bryant Wood Adler, 82, died Thursday, July 6, 2006 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Muhlenberg County Jan. 15, 1924, he was a member of First Baptist Church in Central City. He was a bridge painter and a Navy Veteran.
Survivors include his wife Dorothy Stewart Adler; a daughter Brenda (Ed) Ramey of Oak Lawn Ill.; a brother, Wilbur (Faye) Adler of Central City; a granddaughter, Ava Melissa (Joe) Creevy; a grandson, Edward A. Ramey and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. July 9 at Tucker Funeral Home with Rev Bob Lowery officiating. Burial followed at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Powderly.
George Edward Tucker, Jr.
George Edward Tucker, Jr., 59, died Monday, July 10, 2006 at his residence.
Born in Muhlenberg County Sept. 12, 1946, he was a retired machinist as well as a veteran and a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Sharon Willis Tucker; two sons, Kevin Tucker and Keith Tucker, both of Central City; two brothers, Leon Tucker of Elkhart, Ind. and Terry Tucker of Rochester; a sister Lovon Groves of Greenville and a granddaughter, Kaley.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. July 12 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Groves officiating. Military graveside services and burial will be at Coleman Cemetery in Central City.
Mr. Henry G. “H. G.” “Hank” Watkins, Jr.
MADISONVILLE - Henry G. “H.G.” “Hank” Watkins, Jr., 85, died Sunday, July 9, 2006 at the Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Feb. 21, 1921, he was the son of the late Henry G. and Floy Coffman Watkins. He served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II from 1942 - 1945 and was retired from BellSouth in Madisonville. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Louise Watkins; a son, Grady Watkins and three sisters, Edna Mae Lyons, Faye Stevens and Louise Wallace.
Survivors include three daughters, Ann Oldham of Madisonville, Rosemary Brown of Bowling Green and Janice Watkins of Fla.; a brother, Bob Watkins of Central City; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. July 12 at the Barnett - Strother Funeral Home with the Rev. Hughlan Richey officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery with military rites conducted by American Legion Post 6 and VFW Post 5480.
Eunice Skaggs Harkins
GREENVILLE - Eunice Skaggs Harkins, 84, died Sunday, July 9, 2006 at the Muhlenberg Community Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born Nov. 13, 1921 in Muhlenberg County, she was the daughter of the late Logan Skaggs and Lynnie M. Lyle Skaggs and was a member of Sharon Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Harkins in 1977 and three brothers, Carlos Skaggs, Jim Skaggs and Delbert Skaggs and two sisters, Leoda Skaggs and Ruth Skaggs.
Survivors include a son, Wilbur (Anna Mae) Harkins of Greenville; two brothers, James Skaggs of Racine, Wis. and Leroy Skaggs of Madisonville; three sisters, Bonnie Satterfield of Evansville, Velma Skaggs of Arizona and Louise Skaggs of Racine, Wis.; two grandchildren, Tim (Ketta) Harkins of Greenville and Beth (Greg) Lehmann of Louisville; five great - grandchildren, Ashlee (Derek) Gill, Drake Harkins, Grace Harkins, Paiton Harkins and Robert Lehmann and two great - great - grandchildren, Makenna Gill and Kyler Gill.

Roger Cramer, 39, died Thursday, July 14, 2005.
Born in Muhlenberg County Aug. 31, 1965, the son of Sharon Garrett and the late Eddie Cramer, he was of the Baptist faith and was employed as a mobile operator at Car - Hart in Hanson. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl and Opal Anderson and Bill and Anna Mae Cramer.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Noffsinger Cramer; two daughters, Miranda Cramer and Melissa Cramer, both of Central City; his mother and step - father, Sharon and Buddy Garrett of Central City; two brothers, Jimmie Cramer of Central City and Wesley (Christy) Garrett of Bremen; a grandchild, Haley Jones of Central City; his father - in - law and mother - in - law, Steven and Dianna Noffsinger of Central City; sisters - in - law and brothers - in - law, Susan and Rodney Burch and Stephanie and John Robinson, all of Central City and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Born in Muhlenberg County Oct. 15, 1952, the daughter of Helen and Charles Doss, she was a homemaker and a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include a son, Leon Brandon Basham of Ind.; a daughter, Charlotte Renae Basham Morris of Dawson Springs; two brothers, Bobby Blake of Madisonville and Thomas Blake of Beechmont; a sister, Rebecca Blake Jarvis of Nortonville and a grandchild.

David Lee Engler
GREENVILLE - David Lee Engler, 63, died Sunday, July 17, 2005 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Muhlenberg County Feb. 1, 1942, the son of William Vernie Engler and Gertrude Penrod Engler, he served in the United States Air Force and was discharged on April 2, 1967. He was a building contractor for over 40 years and a member of the Browder Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Patricia Elizabeth Riley Engler; two daughters, Tina (Scott) Cartwright of Shelbyville, Tenn. and Michelle Jozwiak of Columbus, Ga.; three sisters, Edith Dukes of Beech Creek, Sonja Webb and Kay Pike, both of Drakesboro; four brothers, Bobby Engler of Bellview, Fla., Billy Engler of Mulberry, Fla., Jimmy Engler of Browder and George Engler of Drakesboro; four grandchildren, Whitney Goff and Kristan Goff, both of Columbus, Ga. and Zach Cartwright and Peyton Cartwright, both of Shelbyville, Tenn.; one aunt and several nieces and nephews.
