Eva Downs, 89 Russell Springs, KY passed away Thursday, April 30, 2003 at the Russell County Hospital. She retired from 700 WLW in Cincinnati and worked in the television industry as well.
She is survived by two sons, Dave Downs, Ossian, IN and Jessie Downs, Salyersville, KY; one sister, Lillie Tucker, Stearns, KY ; and 16 grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were Monday, May 5, 2003 with Bro. Carroll Egnew officiating.
Interment was in the Mill Springs National Cemetery.

Aline Huddleston
Aline Huddleston, 76, Russell Springs, KY passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2003 at the T.J. Samson Hospital in Glasgow, KY. She was a retired upholsterer and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her husband, Jack Huddleston, Russell Springs, KY; three sons, Dennis Hall, Russell Springs, KY, Tony Hall, Travelers Rest, S.C. and Jerry Hall, Lutz, FL; one daughter, Cheryl Conover, Russell Springs, KY; one step son, Jerry Huddleston and one step daughter, Jackie Naughton, both of Chicago, IL;one brother, Gene Lawless, Somerset, KY; two sisters, Inez Fagala, McAllen, Texas and Sondra Frost, Russell Springs, KY.
Funeral services were Saturday, May 3, 2003 in the chapel of the Bernard Funeral Home with Bro. Daryl Coe officiating.
Bernard Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Elsie Loy
Elsie Loy, 83, Russell Springs, KY passed away Saturday, May 3, 2003 at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Jamestown, KY. She was a homemaker and a member of the Fairview Separate Bpatist Church.
Survivors include five grandchildren, Melinda Thomas, Russell Springs, KY, Sandra Loy, Indiana, Darrell Davis and Greg Davis, both of Russell Springs, KY and Jody Loy, Jamestown, KY; four great grandchildren, Jordan and Jacob Thomas, Mariah and Dakota Loy; one son-in-law, Ernest Davis; one brother, Rester Higginbotham, Russell Springs, KY; five sisters, Ruby HIll, Jamestown, KY, Arvella Garner, Viola Bunch, both of Russell Springs, KY, Helen Hadley, Clearwater, FL and Willie Ruth Sprits, Richmond, IN.
She was preceded in death by one son, Billy Loy and one daughter, Betty Davis.
Funeral services were Monday, May 5, 2003 in the chapel of the Bernard Funeral Home with Bro. Ronnie Loy officiating.
Special music was provided by Louise Duff, Diane Ford, Charles Knight and Steve Stapp.
Interment was in the Russell Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Kenton Thomas, Darrell Davis, Greg Davis, Jody Loy, Jordan Thomas, Jacob Thomas and Danny Blair.

Leonard Roy Hudson
Leonard Roy Hudson, 49, Jamestown, passed away Wednesday, August 25 at Russell County Hospital.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
He was the son of the late Raymond Hudson and Ollie Lawless Hudson.
He is survived by three sisters, Cola Faye Hudson, Russell Springs, Nancy Carolyn Polston and Cleda Simpson, both of Jamestown; three brothers, Lilburn Hudson, Nancy, Lannie and Ronnie Hudson, both of Jamestown; two special great nieces Cheyenne and Brittany Simpson; and nine nieces and nephews.
Services were held Friday, August 27, 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Rippetoe Funeral Home with military rites and Bro. Leon Simpson officiating.
Burial was in Lawless Cemetery off the Moores School House Road.

Wade G. Ensminger
Wade G. Ensminger, 76, Shelbyville, Indiana, died August 24 at Major Hospital in Shelbyville, Indiana.
He was born March 16, 1923 in Fairland, Indiana to the late Floyd Ensminger and the late Mamie Purcell.
He had lived in Shelby County the last 52 years. He had lived in Moscow (Rush County) his early life and attended Milroy Schools. He married
Virginia Mohler June 29, 1941 and she survives. He retired from Chrysler in Indianapolis in 1985 after 30 years - having served as a Union Representative #1226) the last 20 years. He was also a horse trainer (of standard breds) the last twenty years. He was a 50 year member of the Milroy Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite in Indianapolis, and a past member of the Shriners.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son Budd Ensminger, Shelbyville, Indiana; two daughters, Janice (Chuck) Daffron, Jamestown and Mary Margaret (Dennis) Garnett, Florence, Kentucky; two grandsons, Wade Daffron, Jamestown and Wade Haney, Indianapolis, Indiana; one granddaughter, Amanda Posz, Florence, Kentucky; and three great grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday, August 28, 1999, 10:00 a.m. at Moster and Cox Mortuary in Rushville, with Rev. Corlis Dees officiating.
Burial was in Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville, Indiana.

Elmer Bray
Elmer Bray, 75, Columbia, KY, passed away Friday, August 27, 1999 at Westlake Regional Hospital.
He was the son of the late Kie and Nancy Clinton Bray.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lydia Carter Bray on June 14, 1979; two brothers Elvin Bray and Delmar Bray.
He is survived by one daughter Fayrene Denton and her husband Billy, Columbia; one son Coy Bray and his wife Kathy, Russell Springs; two brothers, Velmer Bray and his wife Mary and Eldred Bray, both of Clinton, Illinois; three grandchildren, Troy Denton, Tony Denton and Kevin Bray; two great grandchildren, Jared Denton and Evan Bray; four sisters-in-law, Beatrice Bray and Mary Carter, both of Columbia, Kentucky; Sally Bray and Minnie Sullivan, both of Russell Springs; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Elmer was a member of the Free Union Separate Baptist Church, a retired farmer, sawmill worker, and a Veteran of WW II.
Services were held Sunday, August 29 at 2:00 p.m. at Free Union Separate Baptist Church, with Bros. Ritchie Curtis and Jim Goff officiating.
Interment was in Freedom Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Kevin Bray, Troy Denton, Tony Denton, Jerry Kerr, Robert Knight and Willard Bryant.
Honorary pallbearers were Timmy Hudson, Ronnie Hudson, David Johnson, Bill Wilson, Walter Thomas, Ed Shaw and Adrian Conover.

Earl Holt
Earl Holt, 73, died Friday at the University of Louisville Hospital.
He was a retired businessman and farmer, well known in both Russell and Adair County. He was very active in Republic politics - former bulldozer owner and operator - started A & R Stone in Adair County - developed Holt Cattle Company and Holt Ford Tractor Sales in Columbia. He was a Veteran of WWII.
He is survived by two children, Linda Story, Roseville, California and Timmy Holt, Russell Springs; one grandchild; one brother, Eris Holt, Bloomington, Indiana.
Funeral services were held Monday at the Chapel of the Rippetoe Funeral Home, with Bro. Mark Hale officiating.
The organist was Steve Stapp.
Burial was in Russell Springs Cemetery.
