She was preceded in death by a brother, M. Colan Collins and also an infant brother, Jackie. Funeral services were Wednesday, August 27, 2003 in the chapel of the Bernard Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Kingry officiating. Special singers were Shawna Wallace, Jane Ann Coffey, Elaina Andrew and Ann Blakey. Interment was in the Blakey Cemetery. Audra Shearer Compton, 82, A resident of Fair Oaks Nursing Home, formerly of Jefferson County, died Saturday, July 22, 2003 at the nursing home. She was the daughter of the late Granvel and Emma Floyd Shearer and a retired educator in several school systems. She is survived by two sons, Bro. J.D. Melson, Jamestown, KY and Gary Dean Foley, Louisville, KY; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were Monday, July 28, 2003 in the chapel of Wilson Funeral Home with Bro. Dewey Cooper officiating. Interment was in the Rippetoe Springs, Cemetery. Clearcy Jewell Conner, 99, Jamestown, KY passed away Saturday, January 25, 2003 at the Russell County Hospital. She was a homemaker. She was the daughter of the late James and Winnie Gossett Conner. She is survived by three sons, Billy J.(Lola) Conner, and Norman Conner, both of Jamestown, KY and Buford (Lana) Conner, Indianapolis, IN; one daughter, Patsy (Joey) Garrett), Franklin, IN; eight grandchildren and four step grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and five step great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by one son, Murrell Conner. Funeral services were Monday, January 27, 2003 with Bro. J.L. Skaggs officiating. Interment was in the Grider Hill Cemetery. Eva Gadberry, 89, A life-long Columbia resident passed away Sunday, August 24, 2003 at the Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, KY after several months of illness. She was a homemaker and a member of the Jamestown Church of Christ and a longtime employee of Callison Cleaners and the post mistress of Gadberry Post Office for several years. Survivors include one son, Joseph Gadberry, Columbia, KY; three grandchildren, Frances (Kenton) Antle, Columbia, KY, Gertrude Gadberry, Columbia, KY, Elaine Turner, Columbia, KY; one sister, Mary Riggins, Columbia, KY; three grandchildren, Brett Antle, Michele Hale, Rodney Turner; two great grandchildren, Audra and Amber Turner. Funeral services were Wednesday, August 28, 2003 in the chapel of Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Bro. Scott Eubank and Bro. Randall McPherson officiating. Bernice Garner, 78, Village Dr. passed away Sunday, December 29, 2002 at her home. She was a retired nurse and a member of the Russell Springs Christian Church. She is survived by one son, Jeffery Brent George, Mooresville, IN; three daughters, Judy Carroll George, Speedway, IN, Ruby Joette Beck, Brownsburg, IN, Julie Ann Baker, Russell Springs, KY; one brother, Calvin Hart, Indianapolis, IN; three sisters, Velice Cottingin, Speedway, IN, Thelma Dowell, Mooresville, IN, and Nancy Hughes, Indianapolis, IN; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were Thursday, 12:00 noon in the chapel of the Wilson Funeral Home with Bro. Carroll Egnew officiating. Interment was in the Mill Springs National Cemetery at Nancy. Larry D. Gaskin, 32, Rushville, IN, passed away May 18, 2003 at his residence. Larry was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, bicycling, softball, and basketball and was a avid Cincinnati Reds fan.. He was also a member of the Clear Springs, Baptist Church in Russell Springs, KY. He graduated from Vincennes University with an Associate of Science Degree in 1990 and was also a graduate of Lincoln Technical Institute in Automotive Service Management in 2001. He is survived by his father, Glen Gaskin, Jamestown, KY; two brothers, Roger Gaskin, Sheridan, IN and Leslie Gaskin, Indianapolis, IN; two half brothers, Bobby Gaskin, Shelbyville, IN and Matthew Gaskin, Oklahoma; two half sisters, Vickie (Joe) Nevens, Indianapolis, IN and Robin (Jimmy) Hall, Jamestown, KY; and two uncles, Gregory Gibson, Coatesville, IN and Estel Gibson, Indianapolis, IN. Funeral services were Thursday, May 22, 2003 in the chapel of the Moster & Cox Mortuary. Interment was in the Little Blue River Cemetery in Rushville, IN.
