Willard Lee Popplewell, Sr., 63, Shelbyville, IN, formerly of Russell County, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2003 at his residence. He was a carpenter. Survivors include two sons, Chris Popplewell, Russell Springs, KY and Willard Popplewell, Jr., Dade City, FL; one daughter, Lorie Bailey, Greenwood, IN; five brothers, Marlus, Paul, Tommy, Ola, and Roy Popplewell, all of Russell Springs, KY; two sisters, Nadine Wilson and Meredith Hopper, both of Russell Springs, KY; and eight grandchildren. Funeral services were Saturday, May 31, 2003 in the chapel of the Bernard Funeral Home with Bro. Elvis Tucker officiating. Interment was in the Holt Cemetery. Morris E. Gaskins, 70, Edinburgh, IN formerly of Russell County, passed away Friday, August 22, 2003 at the Columbus Regional Hospital, Columbus, IN. He retired in 1996 after 34 years service as a core finisher for Golden Casung. Survivors include his wife, Beulah Mae Gaskins, Edinburgh, IN; four daughters, Rebecca Collins, Greenwood, IN, Nettie Gaskins, Edinburgh, IN, Susie Gaskins, Edinburgh, IN and Doris Hommel, Franklin, IN; two brothers, Leon Gaskins and Losier Gaskins, both of Russell Springs, KY; one sister, Patty Gaskins, Russell Springs, KY. She was preceded in death by a son, William Gaskins; a grandson, Brian Lee Hommel and by two brothers, Claude and William Gaskins. Survivors include one son, Harold Gilbert, Keokuk, Iowa and one daughter, Barbara Lawless, Jamestown, KY; also surviving are three grandchildren and one great grandchild. Anna M. Yarberry, 74, Columbia, KY formerly of Russell County, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2003 in Campbellsville, KY after an illness. She was a member of the Sparksville Church of the Nazarene and a retired factory worker. She was the daughter of the late Carlie and Mary A. Davis Polston and the widow of G.V. Yarberry who preceded her in death April 5, 2003. Survivors include three sons, Gaylon (Phyllis) Yarberry, Campbellsville, KY, Tyrone and Rocky Yarberry, both of Columbia, KY.; one daughter, Diane Murrell, Columbia, KY; four brothers, Kenneth Polston, Wallace Polston, and Willard Polston, all of Wisconsin and Keith Polston, Ohio; four sisters, Carol Cowan, Phyllis Fudge and Della Montgomery, all of Columbia, KY and Arlene Miller, Wisconsin; five grandchildren, one great grandchild, three step grandchildren, five step great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends also survive. She is survived by one son, Jim(Jan) Hadley, Somerset, KY; one daughter, Ruby Gail (Clyde) Kean, Jamestown, KY; five grandchildren, Brian Antle, Lisa Hadley, Bethany Hadley Trenton Harvey, and Jacob Harvey; and a special friend, Hiram Wooldridge. She was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Wayne Hadley. Funeral services were Tuesday, May 13, 2003 in the chapel of the Bernard Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Dunbar officiating. There will be no visitation and Burial will be in Royal Oak, MI.
