James E. “Bud” Hughes, 57, Glensfork, KY, formerly of Jeffersonville, IN passed away on Friday, September 5, 2003 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, KY after a short illness. Mr. Hughes was a retired Postal Employee from the Jeffersonville, IN Post Office and he was an avid fisherman and hunter, a U.S. Army veteran and devoted son. Survivors include his mother, Maurine Andrew Hughes, Glensfork, KY; one sister, Barbara (Harold) Vibbert, Pendleton, IN; one nephew, Jamey Vibbert, Lapel, IN; one niece, Kelly Kerchner, Anderson, IN; six great nieces and nephews, Stephen, Jeremy and Devon Humphries and Breanna, Cody and Kayle Vibbert. Funeral services were Monday, September 8, 2003 in the chapel of Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with the Rev. Jay Damron officiating. Interment was in the Haven Hill Cemetery in Columbia, KY. Juanita Meece York, 60, Russell Springs, KY, passed away Sunday at her residence. She was a homemaker and a member of the Windsor First Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Verlman York, Russell Springs, KY; three daughters, Joyce Ann (Jeff) Mondie, Modella Paulina (Mark) Bernard and Margaret (Billy) Cook, all of Russell Springs, KY; her mother-in-law, Durella Turner York, Russell Springs, KY; three brothers, Hyman Luke (Betty) Meece, Decatur, IL, Garry Allen (Sandy) Meece, Shelbyville, IN and Selby Neil Meece, Dunnville, KY; two sisters, Wanda (Junior) Luttrell, Russell Springs, KY and Dinah Rose (Gene) Moore, Indianapolis, IN; also surviving is one grandson, Mark Patrick Bernard and one granddaughter, Brandi Arietta Bernard. and Baby Cook due in August. Funeral services were Wednesday, May 7, 2003 in the chapel of Wilson Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Morris officiating. Interment was in the Wilkerson Cemetery. Richard Glisson, 75, Lawrenceburg, TN, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2003 at the Crockett General Hospital, Lawrenceburg, TN. He was a retired diesel mechanic for Case Tractors. He was a veteran of US Army. Survivors include two daughters, Lou A. Davis and Jackelyn K. Stevens, both of Elkton, TN; one twin brother, Ralph Glisson, Branson, MO; four grandchildren, Debra Denison and Charles Stevens, both of Elkton, TN, Desiree L. Denison, Lawrenceburg, TNand Richard D. Stevens, Lewisburg, TN; two great grandchildren, Kennedy A. Sutton, Elkton, TN and Lainey A. Denison, Elkton, TN; and several nieces and nephews also survive. James Elvis McElroy, 78, Lawrenceburg, TN, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2003 at his residence. He was born in Russell Springs, KY to the late and Laura Owens McElroy. He was a retired self employed farmer, loving husband and father. He was preceded in death by one brother, Lewis McElroy. He is survived by his wife, Sara Fox McElroy, Lawrenceburg, TN; two daughters, Lillie McElroy (John), West of Arlington, TX, and Michelle McElroy (Martin) Simmons, Franklin, TN; two step sons, Paul (Betty Ann) Fox, Columbia, TN; one brother, William McElroy, Whiteland, IN; two sisters, Gracie Brown, Russell Springs, KY and Evelyn Rice, Danville, KY; four grandchildren and one step grandson. Randy Meece Sr., 59, Louisville, KY passed away Monday, July 14, 2003 at Norton Audobon Hospice Care Center. He was retired from General Electric as a Benefit Specialist and a member of the Parkland Baptist Church in Louisville, KY. He was an avid supporter of the Cards Club Special Forces for the University of Louisville. Survivors include his wife, Sara Harris Meece, Louisville, KY; one daughter, Rhonda (David) Grider, Louisville, KY and one son, Randal (Tonya) Meece, Jamestown, KY; and his mother, Hope(Artise) Tarter, Liberty, KY; and five grandchildren, Shannan, Brittany, Deanna, Johnathon and Molly.

Patricia A. Murray Malone, 54, Noblesville, IN, formerly of Jamestown, KY, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2003 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. She had worked at Riverview Hospital and Shades of Tan in Indiana for many years. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Lapel, IN and was a member of the Moose Lodge in Noblesville, IN and enjoyed playing Bingo. She is survived by one son, Greg (Shari) Malone; one daughter, Kim (Steve) Cook; three brothers, Bobby (Pat) Murray, Jeff Murray and Steve Murray, all of Noblesville, IN; two sisters, Debbie (Dennis) Bond, Noblesville, IN and Phyllis Williamson, Fishers, IN; two grandchildren, Garrett Matthew Cook and Bryan Dale Malone; host of nieces and nephews and a best friend, Bernice Partain, Noblesville, IN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Weldon Malone and her parents, Elmer Ray and Martha Anilene Murray.
