Donna Jean Hicks Compton, 69, passed away in Louisville, Ky. on Thursday, August 17, 2000, as a result of complications form an auto accident in Russell County several weeks ago.
She is survived by her husband, Willard Compton and two sons, Mitchell of Somerset, Kentucky and Gary of Jamestown; one sister, Vivian Glidwell of Jefferson, Indiana and one grandson.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 19, 2000 in the chapel of Rippetoe Funeral Home with Brother Mile Lemon, Bobby Atwell and Sam Burris officiating.
Burial was in the Rippetoe Springs Cemetery.
Rippetoe Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Eva Hadley Shearer
Eva Hadley Shearer, 100, died Sunday, August 20, 2000, at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Jamestown.
She was the widow of Cameron Shearer.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, August 23, 2000 in the Chapel of the Rippetoe Funeral Home with Bros. Donnie Coffey and Garnett Hammond officiating.
Burial was in the Hadley Cemetery on Garr Ridge Road.

Aunita Berniece Richardson
Aunita Berniece Richardson was born to Eskel and Bertha Southwood on May 15th, 1933, and passed away on September 14, 2000, being 67 years old.
She professed her faith in Christ in 1959. She showed her love for Christ by being a wonderful pastor's wife for the past 39 years.
She was united in marriage on December 2,1950 to Rev. Virgil Richardson, who survives her. She is also survived by two daughters and one son: Jetta Upchurch and her husband Russell of Louisville, Kentucky, David Richardson and Delores West and her husband Wayne all of Monticello, Kentucky.
She was a wonderful Granny to six grandchildren: Allen Upchurch and wife Regina, Jill Richardson, Stephen Upchurch, Anita Richardson, Cheryl Tarter and husband John and Brian West. She was also a great Mammie to four great grandchildren: Leann Parmley, Daniel Upchurch, Whitney Spencer and Chase Spencer.
She was preceded in death by her father and one sister, and survived by six brothers and four sisters: Betty Deane, Sonny Southwood, Curtis Southwood, Russell Southwood, Tojo Southwood, Bob Southwood, Dottie McClane, Randy Southwood, Carol Bennett and Janet McQueary. She also left a host of nieces, nephews and many relatives and friends.
Even though she will be sadly missed by us all, we are so happy that she is with her Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, and her earthly father and best friend, Eskel Southwood.
Funeral Services were held on Sunday, September 17, 2000 at Hickey and Son Funeral Home Chapel with Bros. Eugene Dick and John Tarter officiating. Burial was in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
Eliza Mae Coe
Eliza Mae Coe, 57, Russell Springs, died Saturday, September 23, 2000 at Norton's Hospital in Louisville.
She was born July 18, 1943 in Jamestown to the late Kermus and Bessie Lee Andrew.
She was a seamstress.
She is survived by her husband Richard Coe; two daughters, Beverly Edmond, Russell Springs and Vickie Redmon, E. Canton, Ohio; three sons, Neal Reeder and Curtis Reeder, both of Jamestown and Darren Andrew, Russell Springs; three step-daughters, Susan Coe, Jeffersonville, Indiana, Cherrie Akers and Jeanette Bray both of Russell Springs; three step-sons, Richard Coe, Middlesboro, Kentucky, Johnny Coe, Russell Springs and Roger Coe of Pensacola, Florida; two sisters, Alvie Lofton, Columbia, Kentucky and Beulah Mann, Jamestown; one brother Kermus Andrew, Jamestown; seven grandchildren; eleven step grandchildren; and 1 step great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Monday, September 25, 2000, 2:00 p.m. at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel with Bro. Tim Dennis officiating.
Special music was provided by The Egnews.
Burial was in the Keaton Cemetery in Jamestown.
Pallbearers were Micheal Mann, David Mann, Joshua Bunch, Rick Seratt, Doug Capps and Jimmy Reeder.

Elizabeth Back
Elizabeth Back, 82, James-town, died Saturday, September 16, 2000 at her home.
She was born August 15, 1918 in Jackson, Kentucky to the late Larken and Nannie Bell Smith Clemons.
She was a housewife and a member of the Jamestown First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Back.
She is survived by one daughter Lois (Lee) Bradley, Jamestown; two sons, Floyd (Judy) Back, Jamestown and E. Lee Back of San Antonio, Texas; one sister, Sally Fugate, Phoenix, Arizona; one brother, Oscar Clemons of Phoenix. Arizona.; eight grandchildren Penny, Kenny, Rusty, Steve, Sherri, Scott, Sabrina and Leigha; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 20, 2000, 10:00 a.m. at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel with Dr. Daryl Covington officiating.
Burial was in the Jamestown Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Mark Brewer, Kenny Price, Rusty Riggenbach, Steve Back, Scott Back and Raymond Rogers.

Frank Aviles Jr.
Mr. Frank Aviles Jr., 24, Bowling Green, Kentucky, died September 18, 2000 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was an educator with the Logan County School System, teaching at Chandler's Elementary School.
He is survived by his wife, Shawna Ann Weddle , Bowling Green; one sister, Cynthia Christine Avile, Texas; his mother, Brenda Carol Clark, Russellville; his father, Francisco Aviles Sr., North Carolina; his grandparents, Carmen Lizardi and Francisco Aviles of Puerto Rico; one aunt, Carmen Aviles; his mother and father-in-law, Jeston and Phyllis Weddle and a special friend Matthew Weddle, all of Russell Springs.
Funeral services were held Thursday, September 21, 2000, 11:00 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kenneth Hammond officiating.
Interment was in Salem Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Dale Anderson, Rocky Hammond, Tim Coe, Matthew Weddle, David Prater, Jeb Bennett, Francisco Aviles and Francisco Aviles Jr.

Mabel Eddleman
Mrs. Mabel Eddleman, 75, a resident of the Britthaven Care Facility in Somerset, died on Tuesday, September 19, 2000 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
She is survived by four children; Dianne Leighman, Berne, Indiana, Kathy Stephens, Russell Springs, Lisa Bennett of Shelbyville, Indiana, and Chris Eddleman, Russell Springs.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held on Thursday, September, 21, 2000, 10:00 a.m. at Concord Cemetery on Bernard Ridge with Bro. Fred Disney officiating.
Special music was provided by Jackie West.
