Robert Lee DeFeet was born November 25, 1923 in Cincinnati, Ohio and departed this life on September 8, 2000 at his home in Sardinia, Ohio.
He was the son of the late Hettie Jane (Rexroat) and Robert Lee DeFeet Sr.
He was preceded in death by his brother Raymond Lookout DeFeet; his daughter, Judy Marie DeFeet; and granddaughter Rebecca Renee Jackson.
He was united in marriage with Lucy Marie (Stargel) on May 3, 1942 in Russell County where most of his youth and young adulthood was spent.
He is survived by four daughters Carol Lee, (George) Harvey Ely, Lane (Forrest) Linden Jackson, both of Cincinnati, Ohio, Joyce Mae (Delbert) Ballou, Goshen, and June Faye (Roger) McPherson of Cinnaminson, New Jersey.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.; two sisters, Ruby DeFeet Robertson Riley and Hazel DeFeet Helm of Burgin.
He was baptized as a young man at the New Friendship Baptist Church in Russell Springs.
He was a life long member of the VFW, American Legion and Disabled American Veterans. He served our country in WWII in both France and Germany earning several medals.
He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be missed by his family, friends and fellow veterans.
Funeral services were held Monday, September 11, 2000, 2:00 p.m. at Beam-Fender Funeral Home.
Burial was in Burial Sardinia Cemetery with military honors.
Memorials are ask to be donated to Cancer Fund, D.A.v., Hospice and the Red Cross.

Phillip Lee Powell
Phillip Lee Powell, 59, Jamestown, died Tuesday, September 26, 2000 at the home of his brother in Jamestown, after a short illness.
He was born May 14, 1941 to the late Nannie Skaggs Powell and the late Otis Powell.
He was a heavy equipment operator
He is survived by one son Danny, Resaca, Georgia; three daughters, Tammy and Tina, both of Aransas Pass, Texas and Marita, Harriman, Tennessee; four brothers, Delmane Powell, Columbia, Kentucky, J.O. Powell, Louisville, Kentucky, Clarence Powell, Russell Springs, Kentucky and William Powell, Jamestown, Kentucky; two sisters, Mary Beagle, Russell Springs and Ruth Lyles, Carrolton, Kentucky; and ten grandchildren.

Mrs. Norma Phillips
Mrs. Norma Phillips, age 72, a resident of Fairoaks Nursing Home and widow of James R. Phillips died October 2, 2000 at Russell County Hospital.
Funeral services were held Thursday, October 5, 2000 at 12:00 noon at Everidge Funeral Home in Whitesburg with interment in the Allen Cemetery.

Mr. Gary Dean Powell
Mr. Gary Dean Powell, age 51 of Mills Road, Jamestown, died Monday, October 2, 2000 at his residence. He was a highly decorated veteran in the United States Marines having served in the Vietnam War and among many awards received a Purple Heart.
He is survived by one son Todd Dean Powell and his parents Bennie and Nadine Ballenger Powell all of Jamestown; two sisters, Laverne Powell Hadley of Columbia and Sherry Powell Bowmar of Jamestown; two brothers, Donnie and Calvin Powell both of Jamestown; his aunt and uncle, Lowell and Jerelene Cummings.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 4, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Jim Antle, Bro. Garlin Wilson and Bro. Alvin Young officiating, special music was provided by Mae Hadley, Janice Popplewell, Charles Knight and Steve Stapp.
Active pallbearers were Chris Powell, Josh Powell, Clifton Reeder, Lowell Cummings, Roy Lawless and Billy Joe Holt. Honorary Pallbearers were Dwan Hadley, Dean Bomar, Al Sullivan, Willard Compton, Alvin Young, Jr. and Joe Cummings.
Interment was in Helm-Loy Cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Full military honors were given by Russell and Casey County DAV and DAV Auxiliary.
Kathy Marie Burton
Kathy Marie Burton, 48, Russell Springs, died Monday, October 9, 2000 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
She was born in Jefferson county, April 10, 1952 to the late Earl Jackson and Betty Jean Clark Jackson, who survives.
She was a former nursing home employee and of the Baptist faith.
Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband Elwood Burton; four brothers, David Hunt, Glen Jackson, Danny Jackson and Kenneth Jackson, all of Louisville, Kentucky; and one sister Penny Nail, Louisville, Kentucky.
Services will be held October 12, 2000 (today), 1:00 p.m., at Bernard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donnie K. Smith officiating.
Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery.

Rev. Oda S.Wright
Rev. Oda S. Wright, 87, Russell Springs, died Monday, October 9, 2000 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.
He was born in Adair County, January 14, 1913 to the late Nancy Pierce Wright and the late Columbus Wright.
He was a retired Methodist Minister and a member of French Valley United Methodist Church.
He pastored churches all through Western part of Kentucky and Central Kentucky regions.
He was preceded in death by one son Knox Wright; and two brothers Charlie and Kenneth Wright.
He is survived by his wife Mallie Massengale Wright; one daughter, Betty Overstreet, Russell Springs; one grandson Gary (Lisa) Overstreet), Louisville, Kentucky; two great grandsons, Andrew and Zachary Overstreet; one brother Ray Wright, Columbia, Kentucky.
Services were held Wednesday, October 11, 2000, 1:00 p.m. at Bernard Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bill Davenport and Rev. Gary Hardin officiating.
Burial was in Russell Springs City Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were fellow ministers.
Active pallbearers were Willie Ray York, Charles Edwards, Haven Coffey, Lynn Wheat, Joe Hadley and Travis Hale.

Elsie Wilson
Elsie Wilson, 84, Windsor, Kentucky, died Saturday, October 7, 2000 at Westlake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Columbia.
She was born in Casey County, May 3, 1916 to the late Lizzie Jane Wilson Loy and the late William Riley Loy.
She was a retired farmer and a member of Jennie's Chapel United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one sister-in-law, Shirley Jane Loy, Covington, Georgia; one nephew Marion Loy, Covington, Georgia; and five cousins.
Services were held Wednesday, October 11, 2000, 10:00 a.m. at Bernard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard West officiating.
Burial was in Jennie's Chapel Cemetery.
