Harvey Johnson
On April 26, 2008, Bro. Harvey Johnson, 86, achieved his greatest victory.
He died in Christ.
He was born on September 21, 1921 to the union of Lewellyn and Lizzie Johnson in Kirbyville, Texas.
He was raised and educated in Weirgate, Texas.
Following his graduation from high school the family moved to DeRidder, Louisiana, where he was employed by Crosby Chemical Plant until he was drafted into the United States Army during World War II.
He served in England, France and the Philippines.
He retired from Civil Service at Fort Polk, Louisiana.
He was baptized into the body of Christ in 1961, where he remained a good servant in the kingdom until his health failed.
So the man who was affectionately known as, "Big Shot" has more than earned his promotion of glory.
Now he has taken his sabbatical, now he has entered into the rest promised by the Hebrew writer.
He was a unique personality that we shall miss, yet his influence in the Lord's Church will live on.
