Baron C. Keel, Jr., 57, passed from this life on Friday, November 28, 2008 at Beauregard Memorial Hospital in DeRidder, Louisiana.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, Louisiana.
Survivors include: brothers: Patrick Keel, Jack Keel, Sr. and spouse, Holly, and Dorman Keel; nephew: Jack Keel, Jr. and niece: Stacey Bailey; great-nephew: Curtis Keel; cousin: Annie Mae Hicks.
He is also survived by special friends: Danny Hamilton; Michelle Ford; Randall and Stephanie Burrow and David Johnson.
Preceded in death: wife: Linda Keel; father: Curtis Keel and mother: Ruth Keel.

Jessie Arthur Young

Jessie Arthur Young, 85, passed from this life on Friday, November 28, 2008 at his residence in Merryville, Louisiana.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 30, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, Louisiana.
Mr. Young is survived by the following: wife: Norma Jean Young of Merryville, Louisiana; daughters: Doris Fontenot and spouse, Don of DeRidder, Louisiana; Sharon Higginbotham and spouse, Troy of Merryville, Louisiana; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.

Bessie Hennigan Griffith

Bessie Hennigan Griffith was born on February 11, 1914 in Merryville, Louisiana, to Thomas and Margret Hennigan.
She went to be with the Lord on November 25, 2008 after a brief illness at Willis Knighton Hospital in Bossier City, Louisiana.
A free spirit who loved life for 94 years and who touched the hearts of many.
A memory that never forgot anything.
Preceded in death by her son, Mark Wayne Griffith.
Left to cherish her memory is her son: Jesse Griffith and spouse, Brenda of Haughton, Louisiana; grandson: Richard Griffith and great-grandchildren: Ashley and Austin Griffith.
Visitation will begin on Friday, November 28, 2008 at 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Kimball officiating at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, Louisiana.
Burial will be in Cannon Cemetery in Merryville, Louisiana.
Thanks to the SICU Nurses and Doctors for the special care all who helped.
Thanks to the young man from First Baptist Church of Bossier City, Louisiana.
We could not remember your name, but you were our angel.

Evelyn Owens Warden, 72, passed from this life on November 20, 2008 at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2008 from noon - 9 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, Louisiana.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, Louisiana.
Burial is at Newlin Cemetery in Singer, Louisiana.
Survivors include: son: James and wife, June Warden of DeRidder, LA; daughters: Brenda Warden and husband, Joe Comeaux of Lake Charles, LA, and Becky and husband, Dalton Everett of DeRidder, LA; brother: Leck Owens of Woodville, TX; sisters: Bessie Freeman of Odessa, TX, Pauline Ewing of Doucette, TX, and Hettie Mae Allen of Woodville, TX; 6 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Donald Neil Hinton

Donald Neil Hinton, 45, passed from this life on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Survivors include; mother: Jo Helen Hinton of DeRidder, LA; son: Dane Trail of DeRidder, LA; sisters: Lola White of North Carolina, Cynthia Hinton of DeRidder, LA, Lisa Hinton of DeRidder, LA, Vickie McCallop (Ricky) of Indiana, Emery Hinton of DeRidder, LA, and Patricia Dear (Tommy) of North Carolina; brother: Ronnie Hinton of DeRidder, LA, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Bernice S. Turnbull

Bernice S. Turnbull, 87, passed from this life on Friday, November 14, 2008 at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital in Lake Charles, LA.
Visitation will be Monday, November 17, 2008, beginning at 5:00 until 9:00 at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, Louisiana.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at 10:00 at Temple Baptist Church in DeRidder, Louisiana, with the Reverend Bobby Slaydon officiating.
Interment will be in Beauregard Cemetery.
Survivors included her son, Allen Turnbull of DeQuincy, Louisiana; daughter, Annette and spouse, Michael Smith of DeRidder, Louisiana; sister, Dorothy Scully of Boyce, Louisiana; 4 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Enos Alford Turnbull.

Leslie Bradyse Jeans

Leslie Bradyse Jeans, 79, passed from this life on Monday, November 10, 2008.
Visitation is on Thursday, November 13, 2008 from 5 – 9 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.
Funeral Service will be held November 14, 2008 at 10:00 am at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA, with the Bro. Irby Perkins and M.B. Frank officiating.
Survivors: spouse: Linda Jeans of Merryville, LA; daughters: Michelle Cryer and Russell Lanier of Merryville, LA, and Sharon and Kenneth Fowler of DeRidder, LA; brother: Charles Jeans of Merryville, LA; sisters: Helen Franks; Maxie Stephens and Regina Grant, all of Merryville, and Rita Appleton of Safford, Arizona; three grandchildren: Melinda Cryer and Brandon Hanks of Merryville, LA; Laci Butler and Kelvin Fowler of DeRidder, LA; Michael Butler of DeRidder, LA; two great-grandchildren: Kelsi Dove of Merryville, LA, and Jayden Fowler of DeRidder, LA.
He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: Arthur Jeans and Betha Franks; sisters: Billie Faye Roby of Spurger, Texas, and Beatrice Chandler of Paris, TN.
Mr. Jeans had a love of hunting, fishing and gardening.
He also enjoyed visiting with family and friends.

Gertrude Navarre Bailey Raiford

Gertrude Raiford, 90, passed from this life on Monday, November 10, 2008 at Rosepine Retirement and Rehab Center in Rosepine, Louisiana. She was a lifelong resident of the DeRidder area since 1949 and was known as "The Angel Lady" for her collection of over 3,000 angels.
She was a Grace Church Charter member and sang at the local nursing homes.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, Louisiana.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home.
Burial is at Old Cypress Cemetery.
She is survived by the following: son: Edward Raiford (Patsy) of DeRidder, Louisiana; daughters: Shirley Ramsey of DeRidder, LA; Juiquetta Russell (Tom) of DeRidder, LA; Mona Bailey of Southbend, Indiana; Dianne Manning (Ronnie) of DeRidder, LA; 17 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: father: Wallace Navarre; mother: Maggie Sheppard Navarre; husbands: Ethard Bailey and J.T. "Son" Raiford; brothers: James Navarre, Charles Navarre, Ray Navarre, Wallace R. Navarre; sister: Deloris Willard, Myrtle Davis and Wava Riggle.
