The Rev. Samuel "Ezra" Murphy of Monroe, a Southern Baptist pastor, died Sunday.

Funeral service for Reverend Ezra Murphy will be held Wednesday April 20, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Cypress Baptist Church in West Monroe, with Rev. Lynn Townsend and Rev. Larry Eubanks officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.
Reverend Murphy was born March 1, 1918 and went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 17, 2005.
Reverend Samuel Ezra Murphy pastored for many years.
He served the Lord at Second Baptist Church in Crossett, Arkansas, New London Baptist Church in Strong, Arkansas, Horseshoe Baptist Church in Mer Rouge, Louisiana, New Zion Baptist Church In Oak Grove, Louisiana, Homesville Baptist Church in Downsville, Louisiana, Newton Baptist Church in Dunn, Louisiana, and Corinth Baptist Church in Dubach, Louisiana.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Murphy, two sons, Donald Murphy and wife, Wanda, Eddie Murphy and wife, Sherry.
He was blessed with grandchildren: Don Murphy, Jr., and wife, Carolyn of West Monroe, Sandy Humber and husband, Ed of Nashville, TN, Matt Murphy of Monroe, Paul Murphy of Porter, TX, Wanda Landry and husband, Steven, of Sulphur, LA, Jamie Bolin of Sterlington, LA, and Dawn Harper of Monroe, LA.
He enjoyed his great-grandchildren also: Casey Odom of Shreveport, Wade and Brock Murphy of West Monroe, Nick, Lauren, Taylor, and Tristen Humber of Nashville, TN.
Rev. Murphy served in the Coast Guard from 1942 to 1945, and was ordained to the ministry in 1958, by Cypress Baptist Church winning many souls for Christ, some of whom are in the ministry today.
"Pastor", "Ezra", "Ed," "Dad", and "Pawpaw" will be greatly missed, but we rejoice in the assurance that he is in heaven.
Pallbearers are: Bobby Murphy, Jr., Micky Murphy, Wade Murphy, Matt Murphy, Ed Humber, and Gary Murphy.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rev. Doyle Wesson, Mitchell Wyatt, Leo Wyatt, L.E. Wyatt, Wayne Murphy, Glen Murphy, James Robert Murphy, Charles Ray Murphy, David Murphy, Robert Murphy, Rev. Frank Morgan, Jr., and Nick Humber.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home and Wednesday from 9:30 AM until service time at the church.
The family offers appreciation to Rev. Murphy's caregivers: Dr. Charles Knight, Dr. Kovak, The EMT's, the staff at LSU, and St. Francis Hospitals, Christine White and many others.

Donna Martin Robbins, 41, was killed in a tractor accident on Sunday, April 17, 2005.
Donna was born in Winnsboro, Louisiana, on October 27, 1963.
She was a lifelong member of Boeuf Prairie Methodist Church.
Visitation will be a Gill First National Funeral Home in Winnsboro, Tuesday, April 19, 2005 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
The funeral will be at Fort Necessity Baptist Church at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, April 20, 2005.
Rev. Howard Childs will officiate.
Interment will be in the Boeuf Prairie Methodist Church Cemetery.
Donna was a lifelong resident of Fort Necessity, and graduated from Fort Necessity High School.
She is also a graduate of Northeast Louisiana University with a Bachelor in Nursing.
Most of her career and all of the last 15 years Donna was a loyal employee of St. Francis Medical Center.
Donna's first love was not her career however, but her family.
She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter and sister.
She especially enjoyed coaching and participating in South Franklin Baseball.
Her hobby became photography, because she loved to take pictures of her children.
Donna is survived by her loving husband of 18 years, high school sweetheart, and best friend, Jerry, her children Jamie, Kristen and John, all of Fort Necessity.
Donna is also survived by her survived by her parents, J.C. and Anne Martin, Fort Necessity; sister and brother-in-law, Debra Barker and Rex, Fort Worth, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Terry Martin and Vicki of Fort Necessity; brother and sister-in-law, Glyn Martin and Lisa, Holden, LA; nieces and nephews Sarah Barker, Lilly Martin, Jessie Martin, Cuyler Martin, Bailey Winters and husband Jeff, and a special great-nephews, Blane Winters.
Pallbearers will be C.L. Robbins, Danny Robbins, Randy Moroni, John Moroni, C.J. Ezell, and Alvie Vick.
Honorary pallbearers will be all coaching staff of South Franklin Dixie Youth.
