Funeral Services for Mrs. Audine Goacher Neighbors (90) of Monroe, LA, formerly of Little Rock, AR, will be held Monday, April 25, 2005 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe, LA, with Rev. Tom Eaton and Rev. Terry Hinds officiating.
Graveside service will be in Little Rock, AR, at 4:00 PM that afternoon, with Rev. Rodney Shanner officiating.
Mrs. Neighbors was born August 18, 1914 in Little Rock, AR, and passed away on Friday, April 22, 2005 in Rayville, LA.
Mrs. Neighbors was a member of First Baptist Church in Swartz, and a former member of First Church of the Nazarene in Monroe.
She was a retired employee of The Woman's Shop and Wal-Mart.
She was an excellent mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, sister and aunt to her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Charles Oliver, her two husbands, Albert Goacher and Leroy Neighbors, as well as her brother, George Oliver.
Surviving Mrs. Neighbors are her daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Glen Kerr of Monroe; grandson, Albert Kerr and wife, Dawn and great-grandson, James Albert Kerr, all of Monroe; brothers, Charles Oliver of Tampa, FL, and Albert Oliver of Anniston, AL; nephew, Charles Wayne Oliver of Tampa, FL; nieces, Vickie Elmemdorff of Little Rock, AR, Carolyn Wilson of Little Rock, AR, Michelle Oliver of AL, and Karen Nitschke of North Little Rock, AR; and step-granddaughter, Lisa Jones of Albuquerque, NM.
Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM, Monday at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Memorials may be made to Fairbanks Baptist Church, Fairbanks, LA, or Calvary Church of the Nazarene, Little Rock, AR.
MARY ALICE RUSHING NORWOOD
Rabenhorst Funeral Home - Baton Rouge, LA
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Alice Rushing Norwood, age 70, of Baton Rouge, LA, will be 2:00 PM Sunday, April 24, 2005 at Rabenhorst East Chapel with Rev. Huey Moak officiating.
Interment will be in the Greenoaks Memorial Park, under the direction of Rabenhorst Funeral Home-East, Baton Rouge, LA.
Mrs. Norwood passed away Thursday, April 21, 2005 at Our Lady of The Lake RMC.
Mrs. Norwood was a lifelong member of Istrouma Baptist Church, Member of American Business Women's Association and former Miss Louisiana College.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Sam C. and Alice Rushing.
Survivors include her two daughters and sons-in-law, Della and Ronnie Smith, Baton Rouge, Nelda and Cody Young, Austin, TX; one son and daughter-in-law: James Clayton "Clay" and Shaunne Norwood, West Monroe, LA; three grandchildren, Brandon and Ann Marie Young and Haley Nicole Norwood; two sisters, Margaret Ann Huckabee, Baton Rouge, and Florence Hall, Bell Buckle, TN; brother: Samuel C. Rushing, Jr., New Roads, LA; five nieces and one nephew; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be David Huckabee, Jamie Covington, Shawn Liner, Jim Easley, Ronnie Smith and Darrel Denham.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 24, 2005 at Rabenhorst-East after 12:00 PM.
MR. H. C. "BUD" SHAW
Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home - Winnsboro, LA
Funeral services for Mr. H. C. "Bud" Shaw, 76, of Winnsboro, LA, will be held at Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro, on Monday, April 25, 2005 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Ernest Oliver and Rev. Benton Moore officiating.
Interment will follow at Myrtle Memorial Cemetery, under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home, Winnsboro.
Mr. Shaw was a contractor.
He belonged to several organizations, including the Winnsboro Mason Lodge #246, New Hope Shriners, Ducks Unlimited, and a lifetime member of the National Wild Turkey Federation.
He was an instructor of a hunter's safety class for years and helped to establish the hunter's safety program in this state.
He was a member of the Temple Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hollis Harvey Shaw and Ettie Evelyn Shaw; four brothers: Harvey Shaw, Bouey Shaw, Logan Shaw, Carl Shaw; and one sister, Evelyn Bigelo.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Mae Reed Shaw; one son, Mike Shaw of West Monroe; two daughters, Debbie Cox of Port Charlotte, FL, Sherrie Miller of Denver, CO; six stepchildren, Wanda Turnbow, Carl Evans, Glenda Bumpers, Erlene Watson, Shelton Evans, and Kenny Evans; one brother: H. B. Shaw, Sr. of West Monroe; two sisters, Una Woods of Winnsboro, Maggie King of Winnsboro; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The pallbearers will be George Caraway, III; Terry Winburne, Buddy Rhodes, Buddy Parks, Joe Daughty, and Louis Robinson.
Honorary pallbearers will be G.A. Ghram, David McLemore, Jack Stanley, Donnie Ellerman.
The family will receive friends at Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro, Sunday, April 24, 2005 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
