Kilpatrick Funeral Home - West Monroe, LA

Funeral services for Mr. Curtis Wayne Cathey, 37, will be 2:00 PM, Friday, January 21, 2005 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in West Monroe, Louisiana.
Officiating will be Rev. George Bonner.
Interment will follow immediately at Cypress Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe, Louisiana.
Mr. Cathey was born on March 23, 1967 and passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2005.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mike Cathey, brothers; Michael Henry Cathey, Charles Richard Cathey and Donald Ray Cathey.
He is survived by his brother Jerry Cathey and wife Dawn of Eros, LA, numerous relatives and friends, and close companion, Ted Ray. Curtis will be remembered as a loving and wonderful person.
Pallbearers will be family members.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday, January 20, 2005 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe, Louisiana.

SISTER LINDA CONSTANTIN O.S.F.
Rabenhorst Funeral Home - Baton Rouge, LA

Sister Linda Constantin O.S.F. was an example to all about how to live life abundantly.
Her passion, energy and joyfulness of spirit touched all she knew whether through prayer, service, or friendship.
Her character was both forthright and fun leaving an indelible mark on the lives of many.
To the countless people she met through her work as a nurse, her love of fishing and her zeal for new experiences, Sister Linda's dedication, tenacity and uncompromising standards for excellence were well-known and the hallmarks of her mission.
She believed deeply in justice for all and service as a privilege, encouraging others to share her passion through good works and kindness, even in the final days of her life.
While deeply appreciative of the many prayers and words of encouragement during her illness, Sr. Linda's constant request was a good deed done for another and lifted up to God in her name.
Her life was remarkable and her legacy vast.
May we all continue to honor her through our generosity of spirit and selflessness for another in need.
Sister Linda Constantin, O.S.F., passed away at home, Jacoba House, Tuesday, January 18, 2005 following a courageous battle with cancer.
A native of Rayne, Louisiana, Sister Linda was born November 3, 1947.
She entered religious life as a Sister joining the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady in 1967 and was professed in 1970.
She graduated from the nursing program at Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe and became a RN.
She also completed a Master's of Arts Degree in Theology from St. Bonaventure University in New York.
Her personal ministry and vocation were synonymous as she served friend and stranger alike through her work with the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System.
For 30 years, as a nurse and administrator she tirelessly served patients, families, physicians and staff at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge and St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe.
Since 1995, Sister Linda has served as Vice-President of Mission Integration at Our Lady of the Lake.
In addition, Sister Linda offered her leadership to the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady serving as a member of the Provincial Council since 2002.
She was named a 2003 YWCA Woman of Achievement.
But her most meaningful contributions can be seen through the many individuals and organizations she touched throughout her life. .
She left an indelible mark on the lives of many people, one person at a time.
Sr. Linda's civic activities and contributions are too numerous to list but included Volunteers in Public Schools, Capital Human Services District, Junior and Special Olympics, United Way, Baton Rouge Area Food Bank, St. Vincent de Paul, YWCA, Committee of Friends to assist HIV patients and Children's Miracle Network.
True to her Franciscan beliefs, Sr. Linda knew no other way to help out than by being handson.
She approached all that she took on with her trademark energy and resourcefulness.
With this approach, she set up numerous programs to care for those most in need working diligently for the poor, the ill, the young, the aged, for the disabled and for the hungry.
She was an outspoken advocate for women, for the Catholic faith and for healthcare.
She is the daughter of Marguerite and the late Dewey Constantin of Rayne, and granddaughter of Martin and Renola Heinen (deceased) of Robert's Cove, and Maurice and Etta Constantin (deceased) of Rayne.
She is survived by her siblings Margaret Constantin Richard and her husband, Russell, of Lafayette; Lloyd Constantin and Lisa Aucoin, of Rayne; Bernadette Constantin Miller and her husband, Mark, of Rayne, and the late Sheila Chitwood, Sr.
Linda is also survived by eight nieces and nephews, Kent Richard, Jason Richard, Penny Credeur, John Chitwood, Alexis Constantin, Amber Miller, Courtney Miller and D.J. Miller and seven great-nieces and great-nephews, Keavin Richard, Kurstie Richard, Victoria Richard, Harlan Nugent, Havan Nugent, Winston Broussard and Kaitlyn Chitwood.
She is also survived by her religious community and other close friends.
At the request of Sr. Linda, donations should be sent to the Our Lady of the Lake Foundation and designated to the Children's Miracle Network, CMN Bass Tournament, OLOL Cancer Center or St. Anthony's Home.
Donations may also be made to Myriam's House, Hospice Foundation of Baton Rouge, FMOL Haiti Mission, St. Vincent DePaul, Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank, Crisis Intervention Center and Brighton Academy.
Visitation will be at St. Jude the Apostle Church at 9150 Highland Road in Baton Rouge, on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with an evening prayer service at 7:00 PM.
Visitation will be at 8:30 AM Friday and a Mass in Celebration of Life will be at 10:30 AM at St. Jude's Church.
Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetary.

Funeral services for Mrs. Cynthia Diane Grey, age 35, of Tyler, TX, will be 2:00 PM Friday, January 21, 2005 at the Goodwill Church of God, Goodwill, LA, with Troy Williams and Rev. Jason Strong officiating.
Interment will be in McGaha Memorial Cemetery, Red Wing, LA, under the direction of Cox Funeral Home, Oak Grove, LA.
Mrs. Grey was born October 3, 1969 and passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2005 in Tyler, TX.
Mrs. Grey was a native of West Carroll Parish.
She graduated from Forest High School in 1987.
She received her pharmacist degree from ULM in 1994.
She was employed by CVS in Tyler, TX, as a pharmacist.
She is survived by her husband Cris Grey of Tyler, TX; daughters: Haley Sheiron Grey, and AnnaGrace Rose Grey both of Tyler, TX; father: John L. Whorton, Oak Grove, LA; mother: Joan Whorton, Oak Grove, LA; mother-in-law: Geraldine Stanley, Oak Grove, LA; sister: Sandra Johnette Adams, West Monroe, LA; brother-in-law: Scott Adams, West Monroe, LA; sister: Leslie Coahoma Praetorius, Oak Grove, LA; brother-in-laws: Shane Michael Praetorius, Oak Grove, LA, and Jay Stanley, Oak Grove, LA; sister-in-law: Brandi Stanley, Oak Grove, LA; brother-in-law: George Grey, Jr., Oak Grove, LA; sister-in-laws: Mitzi Grey, Oak Grove, LA, Mary Grey, Oak Grove, LA, and Joy Malone Oak Grove, LA; brother-in-law: Jeremy Malone, Oak Grove, LA.
Family will receive friends at Cox Funeral Home in Oak Grove.

THOMAS RICHARD "RICKY" HYLAND, II

Services for Thomas Richard "Ricky" Hyland, II, 27, of Acworth, GA, formerly of Monroe, will be 2:30 PM, Friday, January 21, 2005, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Dr. Pete Bradfield officiating.
Burial will be in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Ricky died January 17, 2005, in an automobile accident in Acworth, GA.
He was a graduate of Neville High School, Class of 1996, where he was a member of the Soccer Team for 3 years and was an All District player.
He was also a member of the Golf Team.
In 1985, Ricky received a Gold Medal from AAU Karate Tournament Championship as a semifinalist in Columbus, OH.
He was an accomplished swimmer, diver, surfer, and skateboarder.
He was a plumber in Acworth, GA.
Survivors include his father, Thomas Richard "Rick" Hyland; mother Katie Hyland Love; brother, Lomax Anderson, IV; sisters, Amanda Hyland Stephenson, Celeste Lubenow and Wendy Dinwiddy; fianc , Jaqueline Telbalt of Acworth, GA; three nieces, Taylor Nicole Hyland, Jordan Stephenson, and Cheyenne Stephenson; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Thomas J. Hyland; maternal grandmother, Billie Bruneau; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be James R. Love, Jr., Justin Yeager, Ron Shemwell, Adam Risner, Paul Edward Love, and Ronnie Angel.
Honorary pallbearers will be Henry Cole, Max Anderson, Jamie Love, John Mark Love, and the entire 1995 Neville High School Soccer Team.
Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 2:30 PM, Friday, January 21, 2005, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

Graveside services for Mr. George Allen Jones, 64, of Monroe, will be 2:00 PM, Friday, January 21, 2004, at Riverview Cemetery, with Bro. Chris Brooks officiating.
Burial will be under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Mr. Jones, a surveyor, died January 18, 2005.
He retired from the Louisiana State Highway Department after 34 years of service.
Survivors include his children, David Levasseur, Jimmy Jones, Sandra Barkley, Bobby Jones, Billy Jones, and Lori Truelove; seven grandchildren; sister, Norma Wilson; and two nieces, Rhonda Wilson and Sharon Arange.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday, January 20, 2005, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
