Funeral services for Mrs. Carol Jean Saterfiel Arrant, 67, will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 22, 2005 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.
Interment will be at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery, West Monroe, LA.
Officiating will be Rev. Woody Rimes under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.
Mrs. Arrant was born on November 8, 1937 in Dearborn, Michigan, and passed away after a lengthy illness in West Monroe, LA, on Thursday, January 20, 2005.
Mrs. Arrant was retired as a private duty nurse.
Mrs. Arrant was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Herman Buford Saterfiel, her brother James Herman Saterfiel and infant twins.
Mrs. Arrant is survived by her husband of 50 1⁄2 years, Raymond D. Arrant, Jr. of West Monroe, LA, her mother, Faye Elizabeth Saterfiel; son and daughter-in-law: David and Frances Arrant of Dale City, Virginia; Son: Armond Ray Arrant of Hartselle, Alabama; daughter and son-in-law: Avie and Roger Williams of West Monroe, LA; daughter: Norma Jean Davis of West Monroe, LA; sisters: Mary E. Kazarain and husband, John, Sharon Knox, and Paula Knox and husband Earl of West Monroe, LA; brother and sister-in-law: Carl (her twin brother) and Sharon Saterfiel of Shelbyville, Texas; seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Alvin Poole, Nicholas Austin, Kevin Redl, Brian Redl, Mitchell Williams, and Roger Williams, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Saterfield, Eric Knox, and Dave Kazarain.

?Funeral Services for Mrs. Ruby Mae Brown Crawford Ball, 87, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 23, 2005 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA, with Rev. Woodson McGuffie and Rev. Donald Reeves officiating.
Burial will be in the Dean Cemetery near Marion, LA.
Mrs. Ball was born on September 9, 1917 in Natchitoches, LA, and died on January 20, 2005 at her residence in West Monroe, LA.
She graduated from Natchitoches High School at the age of fifteen.
After graduation, she attended Northwestern State University, known as Normal College, where she received her Bachelor's in Education.
At the age of eighteen, she began her teaching career.
Mrs. Ball had her Master's and Specialist degree in Education and worked on her Doctorate at Southern Mississippi University in Hattiesburg, MS.
She taught Elementary and Secondary Education for many years.
Mrs. Ball was a Professor at Northeast Louisiana University (ULM) from 1952 until 1978, where she retired with twenty-five years of service.
She was a member of the Twenty-Five Year Club.
While at Northeast, she was the first Dorm Mother at Harrison Hall.
She was the sponsor of Phi Mu Fraternity for many years and was active in many other organizations and committees.
For many years, Ruby was a faithful member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy.
She became a member in 1985 and served in many different Capacities, such as President of Ouachita Rangers Chapter UDC; President of District I UDC and Louisiana Division President (19901992).
Ruby traveled to the General meetings in Richmond, VA, numerous times, where she assisted with registration papers during her visits.
Ruby was very active in committee work in the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Her special interest was American Heritage.
She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Colonists Chapter, located in Covington, LA.
Ruby was also a former member of the Monroe Garden Club, and attended First Baptist Church in Monroe, for many years.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Crawford Pardue and her husband Rodney; grandchildren, Mariana Christina Gross (Tina), John Walter William Gross (Coby) and fiance' Brenda and Stacy Nicole Gross; step-grandchildren, Randall Pardue, Rodney Pardue and wife Anna and Rhonda Vogt; great-grandchildren, Macy, Samuel, Tristyn and Tyler.
Pallbearers will be J.C. Ainsworth, Bob Pardue, Nickey Haye, Dean Olden, Harry Neese and Aubrey Gates.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday, January 22, 2005 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.
The Family would like to give a special thank you to the caregivers at Rosemont Assisted Living, who Mrs. Ball considered part of her family.
In teaching, Mrs. Ball touched many lives over the years, and those lives will forever be enhanced.

Memorial Services for Buddy Poindexter will be held at 3:30 PM Sunday, January 23, 2005 at the Bethel Assembly of God in Monroe, LA, with Pastor Frank Sellers officiating.
Buddy, a Vietnam Veteran, was born on January 11, 1952.
He bravely lost a two-year battle with brain cancer on January 6, 2005.
All through his battle, he inspired others with his faith, humor, and smiles.
He never met a stranger.
All who knew him loved him and will remember him forever.
Buddy had a great love for his children and grandchildren.
He also loved his five puppy dogs, Sasha, Sugar Bear, Benji, Stevie, and Stormie.
In hopes that his illness could help others, he donated his body to science for medical research.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Cynthia Lynn Poindexter; grandparents, Andrew and Margaret Forbito and an aunt, Theresa Forbito Guice.
He is survived by his wife, Helen "Loggie" Poindexter; mother, Marie Forbito; father and stepmother, Bill and Ann Poindexter; daughters, Shannon Landry and husband Mark, Dana Spillers and husband Kris, Dara Poindexter, Drue Poindexter and son, Dex Poindexter; grandchildren, Jessica, Josef, Makenna, Kaylee, Kelsey, Alexis, Alyssa, Angel and two more that he was looking forward to loving; brother, John Poindexter and wife Teresa; stepbrother, Gary Fontenot; stepsister, Sue Davis; special cousins, Bret Guice and wife Melissa; bonded brothers, Billy, Marty, Clay, Lee, Kelsey; very special friends, Tina Caples and Bill and Dorothy Storm.

A retired employee with the State Department of Labor, she pursued her passion of teaching by earning a degree in Education from Northeast Louisiana University in 1996.
She had been teaching for the past seven years at Columbia Elementary School, in Columbia, LA.
She was a member of Welcome Home Baptist Church in Hebert, LA, for over thirty years.
She was also an active member of the Laubach Literacy Program and loved sharing and teaching others how to read.
Mrs. Stovall is survived by her three sons, Sam Stovall and wife Lou of Hartland, WI; Tom Stovall, Jr. and wife Virginia, of Houston, TX; D. Logan Stovall and wife Sherri of Hebert, LA; one daughter, Karen Stovall Rocklage and husband Curtis of Mandeville, LA; two brothers, Mr. and Mrs. John Housley of Hebert, LA; George Louis Housley, of Monroe, LA; two sisters, Teresa Housley, of Hebert, LA; Theo Mae Hargrove and husband Ralph of Jackson, MS; two sister-in-laws, Ophelia Housley of Wisner, LA; and Merle Housley of Hebert, LA.
She is also survived by five grandchildren: Summer Joy Garner, Matt Garner, John Michael Stovall, Kimberley Stovall Schulze, Alexa Ashland McGuffee, and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Stovall was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas N. Stovall, Sr.; her brothers, Sollie A. Housley, Murphy Housley, and O.T. Housley; one niece, Cindy Lynn Housley; and her grandson, Marcus Lee Garner.

Funeral services for Mary Elizabeth "Granny" Yates, age 84, of Bastrop, will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 22, 2005 in the Golden Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. Tim Post and Al Duncan and J.H. Lockwood officiating.
Interment will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM tonight at Golden's.
Granny, along with her husband, Howard, owned Yates Conoco and Yates and Tubbs Phillips 66 Wrecker and Ambulance Service for over 30 years and continued to serve as bookkeeper for many years.
She was an active member of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church for many years, until illness made it difficult to attend.
She passes on a love for missions to her children.
She loved gardening and working in her yard.
She shared her plants, seeds and flowers with others, earning the "Green Thumb Award" on several occasions.
Granny was also known for her love of ceramics.
She shared many good times with her children and grandchildren making ceramics and, for a number of years, shared her love with residents of area nursing homes.
As a wonderful cook, Granny always made food for those in need for, and her children and grandchildren, who have great memories of Christmases filled with the delicious smells of Granny's cooking.
She is preceding in death by her husband, Howard Yates.
Granny is survived by three daughters, Katherine Yates Tubbs of Bastrop, Dorothy Yates Driggers of Bastrop and Peggy Yates Bonner of Starkville, Miss.; her son, Hilton Yates of Plano, Texas; five grandchildren, Mike Tubbs and wife Cassundra, Chris Bonner, Steve Tubbs and wife Dee, Cindy Driggers and Tyler Yates; six great-grandchildren, Sarah Tubbs, Zach Tubbs, Murphy Tubbs, Will Bonner, Bryant Bonner and Derrick Harper; a host of extended friends and family and her faithful companion and pet of five years, Charlie.
Pallbearers will be Mike Tubbs, Chris Bonner, Steve Tubbs, Tyler Yates, Zach Tubbs, Murphy Tubbs, Jacob Post and Derrick Harper.
Honorary pallbearers will be Cindy Driggers, Sarah Tubbs, and Will and Bryant Bonner.
