Mrs. Floy Davison Hammett
Mulhearn Funeral Home - West Monroe, Louisiana

Services for Mrs. Floy Hammett will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 25, 2005 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, with Dr. David Uth officiating.
Interment will follow at New Chapel Hill Cemetery in West Monroe.
Mrs. Hammett was born on December 3, 1916 in Atlanta, LA, and passed from this life on January 21, 2005, at the age of 88.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George Melton Davison and Edna Francis Mitchell Davison; husband, Marshall Hammett; sister, Gladys Harbour; and brother, Joel Davison.
She is survived by her daughter, Jo Ann and son, Gerald; granddaughters: Kelly and husband, Scott Howard, Kim and husband, Tim Whitehead, and Jan and husband, Troy Marino; great-grandchildren: Mallory, Baron, Grant, Morgan, Jenna, and Ethan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hammett will be remembered as a sweet and loving mother and grandmother, with a special love for children and animals.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Donald Hammett and Dr. Jay Weiss, and the staff at Cornerstone Hospital, who took such loving care of her.
Pallbearers will be nephews, Jerry Harbour, Jeremy Ratcliff, Justin Ratcliff, Buddy West, Richard Fewell, Jr., and Glenn Luttrell.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer s Association or the Louisiana Baptist Children s Home.

John O. Skains
Farrar Funeral Home - Farmerville, Louisiana

Funeral services for Mr. John O. Skains, age 89, of Farmerville, LA, will be Monday, January 24, 2005 at 10:00 AM at Sardis Baptist Church of Farmerville, with Bro. Wendall Sellers officiating.
Interment will follow at Sardis Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home of Farmerville, LA.
Mr. Skains, a retired logger, died Saturday, January 22, 2005.
He was a member of Sardis Baptist Church, a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, and a member of the American Legion, Post 149 in Farmerville, for sixty years.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Arley Skains.
Survivors include his wife, Orare B. Skains of Farmerville, LA; four children: Ruth Albritton, Bennie Skains and wife, Nan, Taylor Skains and wife, Maxine and Danny Skains and wife, Debbie, all of Farmerville, LA; a sister, Shelly Prim, also of Farmerville, LA; eight grandchildren: Marlan and Bob Maddox, Vickie Key and husband, Greg, Theresa Hutto, John Skains and wife, Karen, Marleen Marchant and husband, Mike, Cindy Bryan and Wendy Skains; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Coleson, Ricky Skains, Kim Skains, Stan Bearden, Donnie Bearden and Jimmy Cole.
Honorary Pallbearers are Lester Bearden, Earl Bearden, Tony Nolan, Albert Stansbury, Jr. and Leonard Hayes.

Mr. Edward D. Van Etten
Mulhearn Funeral Home - Monroe, Louisiana

Graveside services for Mr. Edward D. Van Etten, age 74, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 25, 2005, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel.
Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Van Etten was born on November 15, 1933 to Mr. David P. and Eunice Van Etten.
He passed away on January 23, 2005 at Christus St. Joseph Nursing Home in Monroe.
Mr. Van Etten was born in Beulah, MS, and then later, moved to Edwards, MS, where he attended Edwards High School and served as president of his senior class and was Valedictorian.
Mr. Van Etten was also a U.S. Army Veteran, who served during the Korean Conflict.
He retired after thirty-two years of service with the Illinois Central Railroad.
Survivors include his wife, Billie J. Van Etten; daughter, Brenda J. Smith-Allen and her husband, Jacky all of Monroe, LA; grandson, Shawn Smith and his wife, Amanda of Ruston, LA; brother, Henry S. Van Etten of Bryan, MS; and three sisters.
Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until service time.

Alberta F. Berry, 69

Alberta F. Berry of Winnsboro, a homemaker, died Saturday.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today at Chase Pentecostal Church.
Burial will follow at Coax Cemetery near Winnsboro, under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home, Winnsboro.
Visitation will be held today until time of service at the funeral home.

Thelma N. Bryan Everett, 89

Thelma N. Bryan Everett of Lake Charles, died Saturday.
The funeral will be held at 6 p.m. today in Lake Charles.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mulhearn Memorial Park in Monroe, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home, Lake Charles.

Clifton Leroy Craft, 55

Clifton Leroy Craft of West Monroe, died Saturday.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
Private family services will be held today.

Orion Gresham, 89

Orion Lee Cobb Gresham of Monroe, a homemaker, died Friday.
The funeral is at 2 p.m. today at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe.
Burial will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home.

Sam Kirby, 77

Sam Kirby of West Monroe, died Saturday.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.

Gloria Gilliam, 70

Gloria Gilliam of Monroe, a retired nurse, died Thursday.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hester Central State Funeral Home Chapel, Monroe.
Burial will be at Richwood Memorial Garden.

James 'Humpy' LaBorde, 82

James "Humpy" LaBorde of Swampers, died Sunday.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fish Bayou Baptist Church.
Burial will be at Harris Cemetery under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home, Winnsboro.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Harold A. Lestage, 85

Harold A. Lestage of Ruston, retired from the U.S. Air Force, died Saturday.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Ruston.
Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.
