Mrs Owens was born February 22, 1914 in Brownwood, TX, to Union Parish natives Wilmer and Betty Calk Glass.
She returned with her parents to Louisiana, as a small girl, traveling by covered wagon.
She grew up in Swartz, LA, and graduated from Ouachita Parish High School.
She lived in the Union Parish Community of Haile, for the past 62 years.
Mrs. Owens was a member of Haile Baptist Church.
Mrs. Owens was preceded in death by her husband, Bert Owens.
She is survived by her two children; Annette Aries and husband Jim of Sammamish, WA, and Jerry Owens and wife Kathy of Haile, LA; two grandchildren; Lisa Dempsey and husband Grafton of Calhoun, LA, and Julie Morris and husband Warren of Alexandria, LA; four great-grandchildren; Brandon Bell of Haile, LA; Jacob Bell of Hessmer, LA, Amelia Morris and Hettie Morris of Alexandria, LA; one sister; Madeline Gardner of Vidalia, LA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Danny Allen, Jimmy Dean, Johnny Gunter, Bobby Jenny, Richard Gayland Lowery, Lanny Parker, John Drew Taylor and Joe Wheeler.
