Services for Syble Cole Burton will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, January 27, 2005, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Dr. Randy McGee and Dr. John Traylor officiating.
Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Mrs. Burton passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2005.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas H. Burton; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank E. Cole; a sister, Kitty McCollum; and three brothers, James G. Cole, Ellis R. Cole and Mac A. Cole.
Mrs. Burton was a native of Avoyelles Parish.
She spent her adult life in Monroe, LA, working for 47 years as a Registered Nurse at E.A. Conway Hospital (LSU Medical Center).
She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Monroe, where she taught an adult Sunday, School Class.
Surviving relatives include her sister, Mrs. Doris Bryant; brothers, Rev. Jerry L. Cole and wife Merdis of Tioga, LA, and Frank Cole, Jr. of Center Point, LA; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Michael Hammons, Stephen Hammons, Matthew Bryant, Chris McLin, Darryl Cole, and Roger Cole.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Bryant, Ken McCullum, and James McCullum.
The family requests that any memorials be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund or your favorite charity.

Graveside services for Mr. Larry Blain Clifton, Sr., age 66, will be 11:00 A.M., Friday, January 28, 2005 at Monroe Memorial Park.
Officiating will be Rev. Stewart Bedillion and Rev. Butch Goodman under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Monroe, LA.
Mr. Clifton was born in Epps, LA, on March 28, 1938 and passed away after a lengthy illness on Tuesday, January 25, 2005.
Mr. Clifton was a retired Major of the Shreveport Police Department and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.
He was also a Shriner and member of the Eastern Star.
He enjoyed playing dominoes at the Senior Center in Sterlington.
He was a deacon in the Fairbanks Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife of forty years, Mrs. Anne Adams Clifton of Sterlington, LA; children: Larry B. Clifton, Jr. of Shreveport, LA, Larie Anne Clifton of Arlington, TX, and Howard Blain Clifton of Sterlington, LA; brothers: Earnest Kenneth Clifton, Jerry Glen Clifton and Karl L. Clifton and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Glenn Futch, Brian Futch, Darren Futch, Kevin Adams, Steven Clifton and Derald Hamlett.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the men of the Fairbanks Baptist Church Adult Men Sunday School Class.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM until 8:00 P.M., Thursday, January 27, 2005 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Monroe, LA.

Mrs. Peterson, a resident of Grayson, LA, died Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at St. Francis Specialty Hospital in Monroe, following an extended illness.
Lillie Mae Peterson was born on April 1, 1920 in Vienna, LA, to the union of her late parents Joe and Minnie Olivia Sims Moody.
She was a homemaker and an active member of Grayson Baptist Church and had lived most of her adult life in Grayson, LA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Peterson and two grandchildren, Preston and C.J.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mona and Jack Dortch of Grayson, LA; son and daughter-in-law, Aubrey and Lenora Peterson of Grayson, LA; five grandchildren: Cliff Peterson, Tommy Peterson, Jeff Peterson, Tonya Dortch, and Barry Dortch; six great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is at Riser Funeral Home on Thursday, January 27, 2005 from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM.

Services for Mr. Lynn L. Roberts, age 75, of Monroe, will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 28, 2005, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Msgr. Edmund Moore officiating.
Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Roberts was born in Pioneer, LA, on November 25, 1929, and passed away on January 25, 2005, at his home with his loving family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edie McGaha Roberts and Jessie Roberts; sisters, Mildred Durbin and Jessie Crockett; and brother, J.L. Roberts.
He was an avid outdoorsman who spent many hours on his favorite lake, Bayou Desiard.
He was also a loyal Tiger and loved Neville High School, but his favorite times were spent with his family especially his grandchildren.
Mr. Roberts is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, LaMae Roberts; son, Gary Roberts and wife, Joani; grandchildren, Kyle Roberts, Josh Roberts and Kaki Roberts; sisters, Alice McCart, Irma Eubanks, Norine Edwards, Lita Buckles and Litha Warren; sister-in-law, Myrtle Ottnett; step-grandchildren, Thomas, Taylor and Matt Reeves; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to his sister who cared for him in death as in life.
Pallbearers will be Phil Roark, Mike Miletello, Joe Giovingo, Bill Harvey, Jamie Smith, and Jerry Ottnott.
