MR. H. A. BARBER

Funeral services for Mr. H. A. Barber, 63, will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, February 18, 2005 from the Stateline United Pentecostal Church. The Reverends Glen Ray Travis, and W.L. Tullos will officiate.
Mr. Barber, a resident of Monroe, Louisiana, died at the John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas on Friday, February 11, 2005. He was born July 29, 1941 in Tylertown, Mississippi, the son of Gladys Travis Barber of Bogalusa, Louisiana, who survives, and the late Obie D. Barber. He was the owner and operator of Basic Auto Sales in Monroe, Louisiana. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by one daughter, Teressa Worthy.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Barber is survived by two daughters: Lisa Newman of Vicksburg, Mississippi, and Tammy Barber of Monroe, LA; one son: Huette "Chip" Barber, Jr. of Monroe, Louisiana; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Burial will be in the Stateline Cemetery.
Visitation on Friday, February 18, 2005 from 11:00 AM till service time at 3:00 PM at Stateline United Pentecostal Church.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Holley, Bill Clampit, Robbie Davis, Chuck Hicks, Dwayne Givens, and David Travis.

BERNADINE "DOODE" CROSBY BECKE

Graveside services for Mrs. Bernadine Becke of Fort Worth, Texas, will be Saturday February 19, 2005 at 1:00 PM at New Forest Cemetery, Forest, LA.
Mrs. Becke was born September 16, 1925 in Pioneer, LA, and died February 14, 2005, in Fort Worth, Texas. She was a graduate of Pioneer High School and Draughn's Business College in Jackson, Mississippi.
Mrs. Becke was a longtime resident of Bridge City, Texas, where she was the owner of International Antiques. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Bridge City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.S. Crosby, her brother, T.L. Crosby and sister Hilda Midkiff.
Survivors include her son, Terry Becke, and wife, Sherry of Forth Worth, Texas; her sister, Sally Hines of Monroe, LA; nieces, Linda Reeves of Monroe, LA, and Susie Broach of Woodbridge, VA, Merida Vogt of Monroe, LA, and Joey Shaver of Garland, Texas; six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

MRS. ELSIE TEMPLES BROWN

Funeral services for Elsie Brown, 76, of Monroe, will be at 1:00 PM Friday, February 18, 2005 at Calvary Baptist Church, Monroe. Rev. Ken Johnson and Mrs. Brown's grandsons, Rev. Justin Clark and Rev. Jon Finley will be officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Baptist Church Cemetery in Winnsboro, LA, under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Monroe, LA.
Mrs. Brown was born on January 21, 1929 in Franklin Parish, and passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2005 at home in Monroe, after a lengthy illness.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, J.D. Temples, her parents, Tillman and Katie Smith; sisters: Rose Reeves, Mae Hampton and Marie Smith; brothers: G.B., John Wesley, O.C., F.W., O.G., Bob and Randy Smith.
Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband Earl R. Brown of Monroe; daughters: Mona Clark and husband, Mitchell of West Monroe and Debra A. Finley of West Monroe; grandchildren: Elizabeth Clark of West Monroe, Justin and Alisha Clark of Alexandria and Jon and Tyler Finley of Lynchburg, VA; sister: Annabell Lee of Monroe, and brother: Dock Smith of Winnsboro, LA. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Mrs. Brown was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Monroe. She accepted Jesus Christ as her savior in 1958 and faithfully served Him.
Visitation will be from 12:00 PM noon Friday until the time of service at 1:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church, Monroe, under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Monroe, LA.

MARY "MAE LUE" WILLIAM HAYES

Funeral services for Mary "Mae Lue" Williams Hayes, 48, will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 19, 2005 at the Macedonia Baptist Church in Rayville, LA. Officiating will be the Rev. C.R. Jackson. Interment services will immediately follow at the St. Peter's Rock Baptist Church in Bee Bayou, Louisiana, under the direction of Tennant Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.
Mary departed this life on Monday, February 14, 2005 at the LSU Medical Center in Monroe, Louisiana.
Mary was baptized at an early age and accepted Jesus Christ as her Personal Savior and joined the Macedonia Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful member until her untimely demise. She always cherished her love of family and respect for God that she learned early in life. Mary was also very active with the St. James Baptist Church in Rayville, Louisiana.
She attended the elementary and secondary schools of the Richland Parish School System, graduating from Rayville High School in 1974. Accepting the challenge of higher education, Mary graduated from Northeast Louisiana University in 1980, with a Bachelor of Science degree. Mary also completed additional hours toward her Master's. At her death, she was employed with the Ouachita Parish School System where she had been employed for 15 years as a special education teacher and later as a homebound instructor.
Mary demonstrated her commitment to service and mankind as a member of Monroe Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. Mary was selected as the Soror of the Year for 2005 and was looking forward to accepting this honor. Mary was member of Order of Eastern Star Love Chapter 49, Rayville, Louisiana and the Rayville Beautician Club Local Number 10.
Mary was preceded in her death by her mother, Juanita Moore, father, Ray Williams and two brothers, Henry and Jimmie Lee Brown. Though we miss her tremendously, those of us who remain will cherish her memory of love, service, and commitment: a husband, Michael, three children, Christopher, Stephen, and Ashley, two grandchildren, Shakeyah and Takeyah Coward, four sisters, Shirley Williams Jones (Roger) of Shreveport, LA, Ola Mae Tenant (George) of Rayville, LA, Charlene Warner of Rayville, LA, and Dewanda Gail Anderson (Henry) of Rayville, LA, three brothers, Ray Williams, Jr., (Shirley) of Crowley, LA, Wesley Williams (Cynthia) of Rayville, LA, and Kenneth Lane Moore (Joyce) of Monroe, LA, two godchildren, William Gundy and Jerrika Rice, Minden, LA. Mary also leaves a very special friend, Jacqueline Lewis, her in-laws, two uncles, two aunts, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom she loved dearly.
Active pallbearers will be Robert L. Hayes, Abdul Black, Arthur B. Hayes, Baron Glass, Whitney Hayes, Anthony Williams, Jerry Chapman, Henry Anderson, Bryman Williams, and Roderick Coleman.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Macedonia Baptist Church Choir. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, February 18, 2005 at Macedonia Baptist Church in Rayville.

HAROLD WAYNE JOHNSON

Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, age 67, Harold Wayne Johnson, was united with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 16, 2005.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2005, at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church, Minden. Officiating will be Reverend Wayne DuBose, Pastor of First Baptist Church, Minden. Interment will be at Gardens of Memories Cemetery. Visitation with family and friends will be held at Rose Neath Funeral Home in Minden on Friday, February 18, 2005 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Harold was born in Kingsland, AR, on March 3, 1937, to Doris Helen Goggans Johnson and William Leslie Johnson. He married in 1958 to Ruth Cummings of Delhi, LA.
After graduating from Cotton Valley High School, Harold received a degree in Business Management from Louisiana Tech University where he was active in Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves.
Harold lovingly devoted his life to his family and his church. For many years, he served his church as a Sunday School teacher and Deacon. He was a Gideon and had been a member of the Jaycees and Lions Club. He has also served on the Webster Parish School Board, Webster Parish Police Jury, and the Glenbrook School Board.
Harold is survived by his loving wife of forty-six years; two daughters, Rhonda Legg and husband David, and Constance Madden and husband David, all of Minden, LA. He was the proud and loving grandfather of six grandchildren: Matthew, Will, and Caroline Madden and Olivia, Adrienne, and John David Legg. He is also survived by two sisters, Wanda Stinson and husband Buddy, and Joan Johnson, all of Cotton Valley, LA. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Marshall Woodard, Matt Woodard, Jason Woodard, Tommy Walker, Lem Grigsby, James McKenzie, Graydon Kitchens, and James Legg.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Davis, Bob Johnson, Bobby Grafton, Andy Walker, Truman Walker, and John Woodard. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to First Baptist Church, Minden or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

NORMAN MCCALLON

Norman McCallon, 79, went to join his wife and the Lord on February 16, 2005. He died at St. Francis Hospital in Monroe, LA.
Mr. McCallon was born on August 1, 1925 in Fullerton, LA. He is the son of the late James Archie and Levi Sweat McCallon.
Mr. McCallon served in the United States Army during World War II. He retired from the Morgan and Lindsey and the G.C. Murphy Companies after 39 years of service. During his retirement, he was an avid fisherman and sports enthusiast.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Ruby Lee Simmons McCallon.
He is survived by two daughters, Debra Sykes of Vicksburg, MS, Tina McCallon of Dallas, TX; one son, Norman Jeffrey McCallon of Dallas, TX; a granddaughter, Jennifer Thomas of Little Rock, AR; and a large extended family.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2005 at 10:30 AM in the Chapel of the Bailey Mortuary in Springhill, LA. The Rev. Garth Collier will officiate. Burial to follow at the Welcome Cemetery in Welcome, AR.
Pallbearers will be Frank Sykes, Mark Thomas, Steve Hale, Larry Roberts, John McCallon and Mark McCallon.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.

JUANITA HONEYCUTT MYHRA

Juanita Honeycutt Myhra, age 77 of Winter Park, FL, was born on January 3, 1928 in Collingston, Louisiana, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 15, 2005.
She is predeceased by her husband, Major Irvin A. Myhra. Their travels took them to Spain, upstate New York, and Japan until his retirement from the U.S. Air Force in 1965, while living in Winter Park.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed her times with family. She enjoyed gardening, classical music, sewing for herself and family, and the joy of life itself.
She will be deeply missed by her daughter Ava M. Gehrig, her son-in-law Thomas V. Gehrig, her grandson Corey T. Gehrig, her sister Mildred H. Jones of Peachtree City, Georgia, her sister Evelyn H. Duke of Columbia, Louisiana, her sister Judy M. Honeycutt of Bastrop, Louisiana, her brother James L. Honeycutt, Jr., and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte Ann H. Hogg, her father James L. Honeycutt, and her mother Virgil Ollie Rossitter Honeycutt.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2005 at 3:30 PM at the Columbia Hill Cemetery in Columbia, with Rev. Pam Roy officiating.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Gehrig, Corey Gehrig, Danny Swabado, Mark Hogg, Russ Cronin and Judy Honeycutt.
Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Riser Funeral Home, 7131 Hwy 165, Columbia, Louisiana.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Vitas Hospice Care, care of Manor Care, 2075 Loch Lomond Drive, Winter Park, Florida 32792.

Mrs. Rider was born in Gilbert on December 19, 1928 to the union of Howard and Rebecca Kenney Floyd and died Wednesday, February 16, 2005 at the Citizens Medical Center in Columbia.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Burroughs Pentecostal Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Bill Rider, her son: Billy Rider, her brothers: Huey Floyd, Robert Floyd and Matt Floyd, her stepfather: Frank Sasser, her son-in-law: Johnny Ray Nelson and her granddaughter: Barbara Mabry. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law: Gary and Linda Rider of Grayson, John and Pat Rider of Columbia, her son: Larry Rider of Grayson, her daughters and sons-in-law: Bobbye and Bob Harrison, Gayle and David Jenkins, Joyce and Allan Jenkins all of Grayson and daughter: Charlotte "Cookie" Nelson of Grayson, her sisters: Bertie Kelly of Columbia and Diann Sasser of Deer Park, TX, her brother and sister-in-law: Charlie and Cathy Sasser of Sequin, TX, twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Harrison, Heath Rider, Joe Rider, Gavin Jenkins, Billy Waynee Rider, Kevin Nelson, Bryan Nelson and Nicky Gilmore. John Walter Rider will serve as a honorary pallbearer. Visitation will be at the church until time of services.
