Funeral services for Ben T. Carter, 77, of Bastrop, formerly of Crossett will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, February 20, 2005 at Golden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Moffett officiating. Interment will follow at Carter Cemetery at Crossett, AR. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Golden's.
Mr. Carter, a retired International Paper employee for 41 years, passed away Friday, February 18, 2005 at Morehouse General Hospital.
Mr. Carter grew up in Crossett, AR, and moved to Bastrop, when he was about 18 years old. He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the Office. He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. He was a charter member of the Morehouse Parish Emergency Response Team.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Maggie Cox Carter of Bastrop; a son, Benjie Carter; three daughters; Joyce and Danny McLeland of Russellville, AR; Amy and Billy Womack and Judy and Heath Doles all of Bastrop; ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; brother: Billy and Shirley Carter of West Monroe, LA.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, his parents, Emma and Ben Carter, and four siblings.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. E. D. Baker, Hillary Duncan, Alton Reeves, and members of the Morehouse Parish Emergency Response Team.

Mr. Eubanks, a retired Stauffer Chemical Employee, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2005 at the Northeast Louisiana War Veteran's Home in Monroe, LA. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Navy, and also a member of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church in Bastrop, serving as a deacon.
Mr. Eubanks is survived by his wife, Ida Rose Terrell Eubanks of Bastrop; three daughters, Rosie Lockwood and husband, Mike of Dadeville, AL, Nancy Fowler and husband, Sherieal of Bastrop, Linda Wells and husband, Stephen of Brandon, MS; a sister, Bernice Case of Woodward, OK; two grandchildren, Chris Robinson and wife, Judy of Russellville, AR, and Dana Harrison and husband, Brad of Bastrop; numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Eubanks is preceded in death by his parents, six sisters, three brothers, and a son, William Glen Eubanks.
Pallbearers will be the deacons of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Spikes, M.O. Porter, Dr. Carter Cox, Goleman Moore, and members of the Men's Sunday School Class of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church.

Mrs. LaMonica was born in Ruston, LA, on January 4, 1906 as the first child of William Arthur Arant and Rhynie Lacky Arant. She went to be with the Lord and many loved ones on February 17, 2005.
After the death of her father, as a young child she and her younger brother and sister went to live at the Methodist Children's Home in Ruston, LA, where she lived until she was 13 years old.
At that time, her mother and new stepfather came to bring them to their new home in Monroe. She went to school and helped her mother run a boarding house for railroad men. This is where she met her future husband, Mr. E.J. LaMonica.
They were married on September 8, 1926. She worked as a plant manager at Monroe Cleaners for many years. Over the years, she has been active in many organizations.
She was most involved in the Women's Life Association for over 70 years and held many offices within that organization. She was also an active member of the Welcome Garden Club, Catholic Daughters of America, Book Club, Missouri-Pacific R.R. Women's Club, and St. Joseph's Alter Society.
Her true life's work was to her family as a loving and supportive daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt. She loved to travel, shop and entertain family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Arthur Arant and Rhynie Arant Holmes; her stepfather, Robert Holmes, Sr.; her husband of 49 years, Edward James LaMonica; her baby son, Edward James LaMonica, Jr.; her only sister, Alma Laurent; and brothers, Edwin Arant and William Arthur "Dub" Arant; a grandson, Fredrick Joseph Scalia; and her very best friend, Mrs. Mildred Lucky.
Mrs. LaMonica is survived by her cherished and loving daughter and son-in-law, JoAnn and Roy Scalia of Monroe, LA; her grandchildren who were so very precious to her, Monica Long and husband, Charlie of Mandeville, LA; Frank E. Scalia and wife, Myra of Little Rock, AR; and Michelle Conti and husband, Gerald of Monroe, LA; her great-grandchildren, who thrilled and amazed her, Staff SGT. Jason Long and his wife, Nerissa of Omaha, NE; Joseph, Jacob, and Joshua Long of Mandeville, LA; Kristin, Sarah, and Allison Scalia of Little Rock, AR; Samuel Conti of Monroe, LA; and Tori Shelton and husband, Tim of Vicksburg, MS; and fifth generation, great-great-grandchildren, Kate and Jack Shelton of Vicksburg, MS and Charles Joseph Long of Omaha, NE. She is also survived by her cherished baby brother, Robert Holmes, Jr. and wife, Betty of Monroe, LA; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Staff SGT. Jason Long, Joseph, Jacob, and Joshua Long, Jack Arant, and William Arthur Laurent. Honorary pallbearers will be Dick Morrison, Frank V. Scalia, J.C.
