EFFIE MEDLOCK GARDNER
Renaissance Funeral Home - Gonzales, LA

Services for Mrs. Effie Medlock Gardner, age 93, of Denham Springs, LA, formally of DeRidder, LA, will be 12:00 PM Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at the Community Memorial Funeral Home, Winnsboro, LA, with Rev. Bill Moon and Rev. Bill Foster officiating.
Interment will be in the Old Chase Cemetery, Chase, LA, under the direction of Renaissance Funeral Home, Gonzales, LA.
Mrs. Gardner was born June 11, 1911 and passed away Saturday, March 12, 2005 at Our Lady of the Lake.
Mrs. Gardner was a graduate of Normal College in Natchitoches, LA.
She taught in a one-room school at Kendrick's Ferry and later taught 6th grade at Gilbert High School until she retired in 1959.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Scott Gardner, son, John Marshall "Buddy" Gardner, parents, John C. and Millicent Mooney Medlock, sisters, Palma Townsend and Octavia Schott, brothers, Mark and Tresmer Medlock.
Survivors will be her two daughters: Judy Dunlap of Denham Springs, and Nancy Gardner of Baton Rouge; one granddaughter: Susan D. Mack and husband, Pat of Denham Springs; one grandson: John G. Dunlap and wife, Charamie of Baton Rouge; nephew: Cdr. Marshall N. Townsend, ret. and wife Dorothy; five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John Dunlap, John Calhoun, Joey Smith and Pat Mack.
Visitation will be at the Community Memorial Funeral Home Winnsboro, LA, Monday, March 14, 2005 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Tuesday, March 15, 2005 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM.

Lurline Watson Bailey, 76

KINMUNDY, Ill. Lurline Watson Bailey, formerly of Wisner, a retired Mississippi Agriculture Department employee, died Friday. Funeral arrangements are incomplete under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home, Winnsboro.

Della Lee Cox, 66

Della Lee Cox of Monroe, a seamstress, died Feb. 28.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. today at Hasley Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe.

Lucille Golden, 86

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. Lucille Golden, a homemaker, died Thursday.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at New Prospect Baptist Church.
Burial will be at Colvin Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Ruston.
Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. to service time at the church.

Yvonne Grigsby Goss, 79

RUSTON Yvonne Grigsby Goss, a wedding consultant, died Sunday.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Grace United Methodist Church, Ruston.
Burial will be at Wesley Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Ruston.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at Christian Family Life Center.

Joseph 'Papa' McDonald, 56

Joseph "Papa" McDonald of West Monroe, a chief pipeline inspector, died Thursday.
Services will be 3 p.m. today at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe.
Visitation will be noon today until service time today at the funeral home.

Nannie Cox Shumaker, 99

Nannie Cox Shumaker of Grayson, a homemaker, died Sunday.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete under the direction of Riser Funeral Home, Columbia.

Ewell D. Singleton, 85

Ewell D. Singleton of West Monroe, a retired Glenwood Regional Medical Center administrator, died Friday.
Services will be 10 a.m. today at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe.
