LANA MURRAY FUTCH
Kilpatrick Funeral Home - Monroe, LA
A memorial service for Lana Murray Futch, 60, will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 26 at First Baptist Church in West Monroe.
Officiating will be Dr. David Uth and Rev. Claud Hughes.
A retired pharmacist, she was born in Lake Providence, Louisiana, on January 12, 1945 to parents, Wilma Murray Moore and Corbett K. Murray, and passed away on March 24, 2005 at her home in Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her father and her sister, Linda Murray Ware.
Survivors include her devoted husband, Jerry Futch of Monroe; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Sabrina Futch of North Little Rock, Arkansas; daughter and son-in-law, Kellie and Ed Williams of Murphy, Texas; daughter, Karla Futch of Piano, Texas; and her grandchildren: Kaleb, Nicholas, Amelia, Anna, and Olivia Futch and Cole, Blake, Maggie and Drew Williams.
She is also survived by her mother, Wilma Murray Moore and her loving sister, Lynthia Murray Piccione and her family; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-niece, cousins and many friends.
Lana graduated from Rayville High School and Northeast Louisiana University with a degree in pharmacy.
She worked at several pharmacies in Little Rock, Oklahoma City, Monroe, and Oak Grove.
It was necessary for her to take disability retirement several years ago.
Lana's life was centered on her family and her Christian beliefs.
She was happiest when she was planning and anticipating family events which included all of her children and grandchildren.
Her family has enjoyed and will remember the many wonderful times when the entire family was together.
She was very proud of each of her nine grandchildren and was considered by them all to be a great "Nana."
Lana had strong Christian beliefs and shared them openly with anyone she could, whether it was a friend, relative, or stranger.
Although she was involved in several church activities, she felt a special calling for the Fair Ministry at First West.
She spent hours ministering to the fair workers both physically and spiritually.
Lana was a key person in her Life Group and was always looking for opportunities to reach out to visitors or new members.
Lana was a wonderful person and will be missed by many relatives and friends.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the members of the Dioko Life Group, Pam Hill, Jane Jones, and Paula Gates.
They also wish to thank the staff of Cornerstone Hospital in West Monroe, for the wonderful care they extended to Lana during her stay there.

Funeral services for Mr. C. O. "Shorty" Myrick, age 81, of Bastrop, LA, are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, March 26, 2005 at Antioch Baptist Church.
Officiating will be Rev. Jerry Shows.
Assisting will be Revs. Shorty Leggett, Carl Wilson, Lynn Townsend, Pat Guice and Dave Kennedy.
Interment will be in the Bonita Road Baptist Church Cemetery, under the direction of Golden Funeral Home.
Mr. Myrick is survived by his wife of 60 years, Josephine Bienz Myrick; daughter, Pam Myrick Clark of Bastrop, LA; two sons, Rev. Andy Myrick and wife, Brenda of Bastrop, LA, Jeremy O'Neal Myrick of Bastrop, LA; two brothers, Bill Myrick and wife, LaVern of Odessa, TX, Johnny Carroll Myrick and wife, Frances of Conroe, TX; two grandchildren, LaDonna Myrick Smith and husband, Mark of West Monroe, LA, Jessica Renea Florenza of Bastrop, LA; two great-grandchildren, Caroline and Kalie Smith of West Monroe, LA; numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Allie Myrick, sisters, Juanita Kennedy, Lois Robison, Lucille Rodgers, Ellen Grace Ainsworth; brothers, Tom, Spencer and Udell Myrick.
Mr. Myrick, a retired employee of 37 1/2 years with International Paper Company and U.S. Navy veteran of WW II, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2005 at North Monroe Hospital.
He was a charter member, deacon, and served in many other capacities at Antioch Baptist Church.
He was also a member of Tillou Hunting Club, Five Points Hunting Club and the Morehouse Fox Hunters Association.
He loved his church, his family, hunting, and dog running.
Pallbearers are: Danny McGrew, Burl Stewart, Roy Riles, Tommy Cooper, Brian Bienz, Mark Smith, Bobby Cooper and Casey McGrew.
Honorary pallbearers are: Mike Avery, Ralph Holland, Frank Cooper, Floyd Tomboli, Rusty Cox, Ronald Cameron, Dan Hayes, Deacons and Men of Antioch Baptist Church, members of Tillou and Five Points Hunting Clubs and members of the Fox Hunters Association.
Visitation will be held at Antioch Baptist Church, Saturday from 10:00 AM until service time.

Mrs. Margaret Waits, born April 6, 1941, passed away at Lincoln General Hospital, on March 24, 2005, after a bout with pneumonia.
Visitation will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Arcadia, on Sunday, March 27, 2005 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 28, 2005 at First Baptist Church in Arcadia.

Interment will follow at Hurricane Cemetery North of Arcadia.
Margaret was an avid of Louisiana Tech athletics, especially the Lady Techsters basketball program.
She and her husband were members of the Ouachita Valley Quarterback club for the Tech football coaches.
Margaret was preceded in death by her father, Mr. J. D. Smith and Mrs. Margarette Barber.
She is survived by her husband Ray Waits of Arcadia, brother, James David Smith and wife Kitty of Benton, brother, David Wayne Smith and wife, Becky of Plain Dealing, sister, Brenda Antee and husband, Shane of Arcadia, son, Steve Summerlin and wife, Donna of Shreveport and son, Kevin Summerlin and wife, Amber of Virginia Beach, VA, step-son, Tony Waits and wife, Heather of Arcadia, three granddaughters, Holly, Stacy and Katy, three great-great-grandchildren, Tyler, Baylee and Camden, step-grandson Drew.
Pallbearers will be Eugene Smith, Ray Dean Smith, Justin Gorman, Zack Crawford, Billy Waits, and Mack Waits.
