Raymond Langlois, a retired longshoreman with Atlantic & Gulf Stevedoring, died Thursday at Chalmette Medical Center. He was 79. Mr. Langlois was born in New Orleans and lived in Chalmette. He was a Navy veteran. Survivors include a daughter, Carol L. Reis; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held today at 11 a.m. at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.

Brian A. Lopez, reprographics engineer for AAMCO, died Thursday of cancer at East Jefferson General Hospital. He was 43. Mr. Lopez was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie. He was a member of the Krewe of Caesar, APA Dart League and BCA Pool League. Survivors include his companion, JoAnn Holland; a son, Joycelyn W. Lopez; a stepson, Jeffery Gaither; two stepdaughters, Michelle Gonzalez and Catherine Marino; a brother, Marc A. Lopez; a sister, Debbie L. Schlumbrecht; and five grandchildren. A funeral will be held Saturday at noon at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. Visitation will be today from 7 to 10 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. Burial will be in Lake Lawn Park Cemetery.

Clifford Magee, retired proprietor of Magee's Movers of Fine Furniture and Antiques, died Thursday at Memorial Medical Center. He was 76. Mr. Magee was born in Tylertown, Miss., and lived in New Orleans for more than 50 years. He was a graduate of Magee's Creek High School and Jackson College. He served as a sergeant in the Army. He was a member of Prince Hall Association St. Luke No. 4 and Platta Temple No. 15. Survivors include two sons, Gregory and Larry Magee; two daughters, Deborah Magee Myers and Sonji Magee; a brother, Jewel Magee Sr., of Buffalo, N.Y., two sisters, Allean Commodore of Charlotte, N.C., and Venita Stallings of Tylertown, Miss.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Hartzell United Methodist Church, 2014 Caffin Ave., with visitation from 6 p.m. Dismissal will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the church. Luverne James Rongstad, a former minister, died Saturday of complications from surgery at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. He was 68. Mr. Rongstad was born in Dovray, Minn., and lived in Gretna before moving to Covington 27 years ago. He was a Navy veteran. Survivors include his wife, Carol Rongstad; two sons, Thomas David Rongstad and Luther James Rongstad; two daughters, Sharon Robinson and Nancy Rongstad; and seven grandchildren. A memorial service will be held today at 2 p.m. at Bagnell and Son Funeral Home, 75212 Louisiana 435 near Covington.

Burnell "Bunny" Davis, a construction worker, died Friday at Charity Hospital of gunshot wounds. He was 21. Mr. Davis was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. He attended Frederick Douglass High School. Survivors include his companion, Tory Henderson; a daughter, Ber-jhan Davis; his father, Burnell Manning; his mother, Patricia Davis; two brothers, Charles and Donald Davis; his grandfather, James Curtis; and his grandmothers, Marie Curtis and Etheleen Ross. Ethel Robert Mire, co-owner of J.A. Mire Grocery and Hardware Store, died Thursday at Slidell Memorial Hospital. She was 87. Mrs. Mire was a lifelong resident of Slidell. She was a former member of the Lamp Lighters. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Slidell. She was also a member of Olde Towne Merchants Association and was queen of Olde Towne's St. Patrick's Day parade in 1984. Survivors include five sons, James E. Mire of Covington, Julius Andrew Mire Jr. of Baton Rouge, Paul L. Mire of Folsom, Robert E. Mire of Loudon, Tenn. and John M. Mire; a daughter, Jan M. Felder; a sister, Alice L. Robert; 19 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West, Slidell. She was a parishioner of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. She was a member of the Legion of Mary and a volunteer at the New Orleans Home and Rehabilitation Center. Survivors include her husband, Gaston Louis Gaudet; two sons, Gaston L. Gaudet Jr. of Stuart, Fla., and William Hobbs Gaudet of Covington; a daughter, Barbara Gaudet Danos; and five grandchildren.
