Lillian Boudreaux Brown, a homemaker, died Tuesday at East Jefferson General Hospital. She was 77. Mrs. Brown was born in Matthews and lived in Harahan for the past 30 years. She graduated from Lockport High School. Survivors include three sons, Wallace Sawaya of Haltom City, Texas, and Raymond and Stanley Brown Jr.; a brother, Horace Boudreaux; a sister, Mildred Cantrelle; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. A Mass will be said today at noon at Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp Funeral Home, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd., Metairie. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Garden of Memories.
KOLSTAD, LORRAINE WILLIE

Lorraine Willie Kolstad, a retired assistant principal and teacher at St. Raphael School, died Monday in Orlando, Fla. She was 84. Mrs. Kolstad was born in New Orleans, lived in Metairie and moved to Orlando a few months ago. She graduated from Tulane University. She was awarded the Order of St. Louis Medallion in 1988. Survivors include two sons, Toby M. Kolstad Jr. of Portland, Ore., and Kevin Kolstad of St. Paul, Minn.; two daughters, Merrill Cox of Cypress, Texas, and Lori Merritt; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A Mass will be said Friday at 10 a.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Lafayette Cemetery No. 1.

Alpha Katherine Webb "Sammie" Johnson, a homemaker, died Saturday in an auto accident in Harrisonburg. She was 49. Ms. Johnson was born in Baton Rouge and lived in Harrisonburg. Survivors include her husband, John F. Johnson; a son, Nathaniel Hunter "Nat' Casey; two daughters, Sarah Kathrine Casey of New Orleans and Hallye Elizabeth Casey; two stepsons, Derek Johnson of Monroe and Kyle Johnson of Jonesville; and three sisters, Sharon W. Malek of San Antonio, Texas, Elizabeth W. "Betty" Sanders of Osyka, Miss., and Mary Webb. A funeral will be held today at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Harrisonburg. April Marie Jefferson, a student at Sarah T. Reed High School, died Friday after being struck by a train near Haynes Boulevard. She was 15. Miss Jefferson was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. She attended C.J. Colton Junior High School. Survivors include her father, Ronald Comadore; her mother, Contessa Dugas Comadore; two brothers, Dwayne Alexander and Michael Wright; four sisters, LaKeisha, Shawanda, Sharonda and Tiffany Woods; and her grandparents, Althea and Louis Stewart. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Tharp-Sontheimer-Laudumiey Funeral Home, 5001 Chef Menteur Highway. Ruby Fay Benge Frederic, a former telephone operator and clerk for the federal government, died Thursday at Northshore Living Center in Slidell. She was 92. Mrs. Frederic was born in Jacksonville, Texas, and lived in Lacombe for more than 50 years. She was a member of United Methodist Church's Women's Missionary Union. She was a member of the Lacombe Garden Club and Camellia Club, and she received many ribbons and awards for raising rare plant specimens and blooms. Survivors include three daughters, Charlotte F. Smith of Lafayette, Gayle F. Wiess of California and Faye F. Jasent of Oakridge, Ore.; four sisters, Ruth B. Wiley of Albuquerque, Marguerite B. Byers of Arlington, Texas, Ceuba W. Benge and Lois B. Keller; and eight grandchildren. A funeral will be held today at 11 a.m. at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West, Slidell. She was a graduate of Mt. Carmel Academy and attended the University of New Orleans. Survivors include a son, John Jules Ballatin; and a grandchild.
