Survivors include a brother, Charles Mason Jr., and a sister, Ethel Mason. A Mass will be said today at 10 a.m. at St. James Major Catholic Church, 3736 Gentilly Blvd. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. A second visitation will be held from 12:30 to 1 p.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church in Reserve. Elsie Wattigny Fourroux, a retired teacher with the Jefferson Parish school system, died Wednesday at Northwest Medical Center in Margate, Fla. She was 90. Mrs. Fourroux was born in Kenner and lived in Parkland, Fla., for the past two years. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Altar Society. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association. Survivors include her husband, Wilfred J. Fourroux; two daughters, Catherine F. Peterson and Gwendolyn F. Guitierrez; a sister, Dorothy W. Fitzgerald; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. A Mass will be said today at 12:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 1908 Short St., Kenner. Willie James "Deek" Adams, a retired driver for New Orleans Tours, died Wednesday of lung cancer at his home. He was 63. Mr. Adams was born in Marven, Ga., and lived in New Orleans for the past 33 years. He graduated from Chalmette High School and the Louisiana State University Law Enforcement Training Center. He worked as a St. Bernard Parish sheriff's deputy, a bus driver for St. Bernard Parish schools and a tractor driver for Atlas Van Lines. He was a deacon at Greater Progressive Baptist Church and a community activist in the Lower 9th Ward. He was a member of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, the Ebony Van Club and the Cajun Cowboys. Survivors include his wife, Joan Pichon Adams; five sons, Willie Adams Jr. of San Jose, Calif., George Dupard of Lithonia, Ga., Adrian Dupard of New Roads, and Kerry and Terrence Dupard; five daughters, Debra A. Showers of Bartow, Fla., Sherri D. Young of Lithonia, Ga., Sherrill D. Coleman of Pineville, Nicole Graves and Tonita D. Thaggard; a brother, Ulysses Adams Sr. of Tampa, Fla.; four sisters, Minnie Sampson of Tampa, Margarite A. Stokes of Toms River, N.J., Iva A. Johnson of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Bernice Adams of East Orange, N.J.; 29 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She graduated from Annunciation High School. She was a former employee of Zetz Bottling Co., and had been with the Sugar Bowl for 30 years, serving twice as interim executive director. Survivors include her husband, Russel Thedy; two sons, Tod and Clay Thedy; and three grandsons.
