Emmett Louis Foster, a heavy equipment operator, died Saturday of pulmonary arrest at Memorial Medical Center. He was 61. Mr. Foster was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. He graduated from Booker T. Washington Senior High School. He was a member of Operators Engineers Union. Survivors include his companion, Rosealie Miguel Foster; a son, Anthony Rene Foster of California; two daughters, Patrice Foster Brown and Delisia Foster Crayton; a brother, Raymond Foster; and five grandchildren. A funeral will be held today at 12:30 p.m. at D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home, 3933 Washington Ave. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will be in All Saints Mausoleum.

James Dean Tisdale, a marine design engineer and shrimp boat captain, died Wednesday of complications from diabetes at Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He was 61. Mr. Tisdale was born in Florala, Ala., and lived in West Pearl River Village in Slidell for 25 years and in the Lake Catherine area for the past 15 years. Survivors include his wife, Linda McBride Tisdale; two daughters, Susan T. Sprague of Slidell and Sandra T. Witherspoon of Memphis, Tenn.; and three grandchildren. A funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West, Slidell. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Biloxi National Cemetery, Biloxi, Miss.

Ella Laney Woolf, a homemaker, died Wednesday at Memorial Medical Center. She was 100. Mrs. Woolf was born in Columbus, Ga., and lived in New Orleans for many years. She attended Shorter College in Rome, Ga., and graduated from Newcomb College. Survivors include a son, John King Woolf Jr.; a daughter, Betty Woolf Fowler; eight grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church in Demopolis, Ala. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Cemetery in Demopolis.

Marguerite Pichon Parker, a retired nurse at Charity Hospital, died Tuesday at Tulane University Medical Center. She was 90. Mrs. Parker was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. She was a graduate of Dillard University. Survivors include a daughter, Patricia P. Montague; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild. He graduated from Holy Cross High School, Loyola University and Loyola School of Dentistry. He had his own practice. He also was a high school football referee. He was a member of the Kells Odontological Honor Society and Psi Omega dental fraternity. He was a Loyola football team letterman and captain and basketball team letterman. He was a veteran of the Navy. Survivors include his wife, Ruth VanGeffen Booth; two sons, Dr. Dennis J. Booth and Dr. Perry J. Booth III; two brothers, Barrett and Dr. John Booth; a sister, Zwelda Booth Ritter; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Germain Baratgin, a retired teacher and principal in the New Orleans school system, died Sunday at Memorial Medical Center. She was 91. Miss Baratgin was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. She was a graduate of Tulane University and received a master's degree in educational administration and supervision from Loyola University. She was active in the French literary and theater communities and had served as secretary and treasurer of Les Comediens Francais de la Nouvelle Orleans. She was twice decorated by the French government for her promotion of French language and culture and was a member and officer of dans les Palms Academiques. Survivors include four nieces.
