Fulton J. Olivier, a retired petroleum engineer with Exxon, died Sunday of complications related to cancer at Ochsner Foundation Hospital. He was 79. Mr. Olivier was born in Donner and lived in River Ridge for the past 40 years. He graduated from Terrebonne High School in Houma and graduated from Louisiana State University with a degree in engineering. He was Exxon's unit coordinator for the Southeast region and president of Exxon Annuitant's Club in New Orleans. He was a senior member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and a member of the Interstate Oil Compact Commission. He was a parishioner of St. Matthew the Apostle Church, where he was secretary-treasurer of the usher society and a member of the Holy Name Society. He served as a first lieutenant in the Army during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Patsy B. Olivier; two sons, Evans J. Olivier II and Fulton "Rocky" Olivier Jr.; a daughter, Karen Guiberteau; two stepsons, John Patrick Elzey Jr. and Paul Blaise Elzey; two stepdaughters, Patricia Elzey Wren and Priscilla Elzey Bourgeois; 28 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A Mass will be said today at 1 p.m. at St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church, 10021 Jefferson Highway, River Ridge. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Lake Lawn Mausoleum.
MARGOT, HOWARD MATTHEW

Howard Matthew Margot, an electronics specialist and retailer, died Sunday of pulmonary fibrosis at his home. He was 79. Mr. Margot was born in New Orleans, moved to Ponchatoula in 1991 and returned to New Orleans last year. He attended St. Aloysius High School and Holy Cross High School, which he left before graduation to join the Coast Guard. He graduated third in his class from the Coast Guard's Gallups Island Resident Radio School in Boston. Mr. Margot served in the Merchant Marines' Project Liberty during World War II as chief radio officer transporting munitions in the Pacific and North Atlantic theaters. He had also worked many years for the Orleans Parish School Board. He also served in the Air National Guard and was awarded the Marksman Badge. Survivors include his wife, Margie Bellue Margot; a son, Howard Margot Jr.; a brother, Louis Margot of Baton Rouge; and two sisters, Myrtle Margot Hoover of Ponchatoula and Gloria Margot of Bay St. Louis, Miss. Mr. Margot's body was donated to Tulane University School of Medicine. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at St. Charles Avenue Baptist Church, 7100 St. Charles Ave.

Toyoko Ko "Miyako" Reilly, a homemaker, died Saturday of cancer at Gulfport Memorial Hospital in Gulfport, Miss. She was 67. Mrs. Reilly was born in Osaka, Japan, and lived in New Orleans from 1956 to 1990, when she moved to Long Beach, Miss. She was a former employee of Shogun Restaurant in Metairie. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and was a parishioner of St. Thomas Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband, John P. Reilly; two sons, Michael and Thomas Reilly; four daughters, Brenda and Sharon Reilly, Cynthia R. Render Leach and Linda Reilly Mullins; and four grandchildren. A Mass will be said today at 9:45 a.m. at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.

Mae Reulet Gravois, a retired teacher, died Sunday of heart disease at Memorial Medical Center. She was 90. Ms. Gravois was born in Vacherie and lived in New Orleans for the past 67 years. She graduated from the University of New Orleans. Survivors include five sons, Warren F. Gravois of Destin, Fla., Ronald J. Gravois of Mandeville, Richard C. Gravois of Austin, Texas, James M. Gravois of Auburn, Ala., and Charles G. Gravois; two daughters, Carolyn Gravois and Rosemary Kerrin; three brothers, Woodrow Reulet of Bush, John Reulet of Baton Rouge and Lewis Reulet of Gonzales; five sisters, Bernice Goley of Pensacola, Fla., Janice Daigle of Reserve, and Florence and Helen Gravois and Marjorie Granier of Vacherie; 23 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. Minnie Powell Spencer, a homemaker, died Saturday at Memorial Medical Center. She was 80. Mrs. Spencer was born in Canton, Miss., and lived in New Orleans for the past 60 years. She was a graduate of Canton High School. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Survivors include a son, Sherman Gill Jr.; two daughters, Ethel M. Gill and Joan Johnson; seven grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. Helen Banks Drummond, a retired teacher with the Orleans Parish school system, died Tuesday at Marion General Hospital in Columbia, Miss. She was 92. Mrs. Drummond was born in New Orleans and lived in Columbia for the past four years. She attended Xavier Preparatory High School and Xavier University and received a master's degree from the University of Southern California. She taught for more than 40 years and was a former parishioner of Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Survivors include a son, Louis B. Drummond Diamond; and a grandchild. A Mass will be said Monday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Columbia. Alma Lee Williams, a teacher at Frederick A. Douglass High School, died Feb. 5 of a stroke at Pendleton Memorial Methodist Hospital. She was 63. Mrs. Williams was born in Liberty, Miss., and lived in New Orleans for the past 40 years. She was a member of Delta Sigma Theta sorority. Survivors include three sons, Makarios B. and Gerald D. Shira Arielle Kansas, a resident physician in emergency and internal medicine at the University of Maryland Medical Center, died Thursday from complications of an adrenal tumor at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. She was 28. Miss Kansas was born in New Orleans and lived in Baltimore for the past year and a half. She graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School, received a bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of Texas and graduated from Louisiana State University School of Medicine. She was the campus United Jewish Appeal co-chairperson at the University of Texas and president of her class at LSU. She was a member of the Congregation Beth Israel, a participant and counselor in Hadassah's Young Judaea Year Course in Israel, a camp counselor at Camp Judaea in Hendersonville, N.C., and a member of Alpha Epsilon Phi Sorority. She was named a fellow to the International Diarrhea Disease Clinic in Bangladesh, a Hillel delegate to the Moscow-Israel Mission and a fellow at the Betty Ford Clinic Medical Training Program. As a young girl, she held several swimming records for the United States Swimming Association. Survivors include her fiancé, Alexander N. Hecht of Baltimore; her father, Jacob Kansas; her mother, Leonore Diamond Kansas; a brother, Alan Fisher Kansas; and a sister, Rachael Beth Kansas. Leslie Bennett Brownlee, a retired claim agent and supervisor of safety for the Union Passenger Terminal, died Wednesday at Metropolitan Hospice. He was 95. Mr. Brownlee was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie for the past 60 years. He graduated from Warren Easton High School. He worked for Illinois Central and Southern Pacific Railroads. He served in the Navy during World War II as a chief petty officer with the 7th Fleet in the Pacific. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Bialas Brownlee; a son, Robert Brownlee; a daughter, Patricia Brownlee Franicevich; two sisters, Edith B. Schreiner and Thelma B. Larmann; and three grandchildren. Anthony Joseph "A.J." Graffagnino, a retired lawyer and businessman, died Monday from complications of Alzheimer's disease at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge. He was 75. Mr. Graffagnino was born in New Orleans and lived in Jefferson Parish. He graduated from Metairie High School, Loyola University and the Loyola University School of Law. He was a Navy veteran. He was Jefferson Parish assistant district attorney, judge ad hoc and past president of the Jefferson Parish Bar Association. He was past president of the Metairie Business Association and an officer in the Jefferson Parish Junior Chamber of Commerce. He was a co-founder and CEO of Commercial Bank and Trust Co. and a member of the board of directors of Merchants Trust and Savings Bank. He was a member of the Good Ole Metairie Boys. Survivors include two sons, Paul Allain and Gary Anthony Graffagnino; a daughter, Gayle Graffagnino Ackermann of Denham Springs; and a sister, Lurline Graffagnino Sargent.
