Vesta Grenn Brogdon, a homemaker and artist, died Sunday in Slidell. She was 88. Mrs. Brogdon was born in Brookhaven, Miss., and lived in Greenwich, Conn., Port Sulphur and in Slidell for the past 21 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, the St. Tammany Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, the Tammany Twirlers and Country Club Garden Club. Survivors include two sons, V. Hubert Brogdon III of Granbury, Texas, and William Grenn Brogdon of Mobile, Ala.; two daughters, Vesta Louise Burnett of Atlanta and Diane Gustafson; 15 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held today at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 1041 Ninth St., Slidell. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. William Edgar Elliott, owner and broker of Bill Elliott Realty, died May 23 of colon cancer at his home. He was 69. Mr. Elliott was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie for the past four years. He attended New Orleans Academy and Tulane University. He was a Paul Harris Fellow and past president of the Metairie Sunrise Rotary. He was a member of the Tipmasters, the Esplanade Square Civic Association, the George Washington Sons of the American Revolution Roundtable Club and Louisiana 102 Masons. Survivors include his wife, Jacklyn Tigner Elliott; two sons, John Albert Elliott of Lauderdale Lakes, Fla., and Bean Arthur Elliott of Metairie; two daughters, Grace Madeleine Marie Elliott of Culver City, Calif., and Mignon Danielle Elliott of Metairie; his mother, Margaret Elliott Storm; and two grandchildren. Florence R. Gamble, a retired machine operator for Schulze & Burch Biscuit Co. in Chicago, died June 1 at Faith Health Care Center in Florence, S.C. She was 75. Miss Gamble was born in New Orleans and lived in Chicago for the past 43 years. She attended Knoxville College in Tennessee. She was a member of the Household of Ruth Eastern Stars.
