Robert Allen Serino, a retired instruments specialist for Exxon Mobil, died Wednesday of undetermined causes at his home. He was 60. He was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. Mr. Serino graduated from St. Augustine High School and the University of New Orleans. He was a past parishioner of Epiphany Catholic Church and a Marine veteran. He was awarded a Good Conduct Medal and a Marksman's badge. Survivors include his wife, Wanda C. Serino; three daughters, Rashan A. Serino of New York City, Andrea S. Perkins and Robin A. Serino; his mother, Vernice McLean Serino; a sister, Carolyn Serino St. Etienne; and three grandchildren. A Mass will be said Monday at 10 a.m. at Epiphany Catholic Church, 1949 Duels St. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Mac Joseph Baudoin, a retired pipefitter with Avondale Shipyards, died Wednesday of complications from diabetes at West Jefferson Medical Center. He was 59. Mr. Baudoin was a lifelong resident of Marrero. Survivors include his companion, Loretta Burr; two sons, Ivy M. and Nathan J. Baudoin; a daughter, Sonia Baudoin Lanassa; two sisters, Dorateel Baudoin Ardeneaux and Jody Baudoin Burlet; and six grandchildren. A Mass will be said Saturday at 9 a.m. at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero. Visitation will be today from 5 to 10 p.m. and Saturday at 8 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Raceland.

Bessie Lucille "Bette" Allen Polo, a homemaker, died Friday at Chalmette Medical Center. She was 85. Mrs. Polo was born in Lynville, Ky. She was a former resident of New Orleans and lived in St. Bernard Parish for the past 40 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chalmette and the Naomi Sunday School class. Survivors include a son, Arthur A. "Arty" Polo Jr.; two daughters, Betty Ann Carollo and Sondra Lea Paretti; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Vickers, Verrette and Dornan Funeral Home, 3027 Jean Lafitte Parkway in Chalmette. Mary Miller Nolan, a homemaker, died Saturday of diabetes at her home. She was 70. Mrs. Nolan was born in Vicksburg, Miss., and lived in New Orleans for 48 years. She was formerly employed by the Radisson Hotel. She was a choir member at Spiritual Sunlight Baptist Church. Survivors include her companion, William Crosby; four sons, Charles, Earl, Joseph and Jonathan Nolan; three daughters, Gloria Nolan, Carolyn Hughes and Hilda Garnett; a brother, Albert Dotson; a sister, Ruth Turner; 28 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Spiritual Sunlight Baptist Church, 2400 Independence St., New Orleans. Burial will be in Providence Park. Natalie Pekinto, a waitress at the Waffle House, died Sunday of injuries suffered in an automobile accident in Slidell. She was 20. Ms. Pekinto was born in Marrero and lived in Pearl River for many years. She graduated from Pearl River High School. Survivors include her father, Gerald Francis Pekinto; her mother, Kathleen Mangin Pekinto; two brothers, Jerrith Pekinto of Bay St. Louis, Miss. and Michael Lemoine; a sister, Stacey Bercegeay; and her grandmother, Ethel Pekinto of Bay St. Louis. Joseph T. Kenney Jr., a retired Navy veteran and self-employed contractor, died Saturday of a heart attack at Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He was 84. Mr. Kenney was born in New Orleans and lived in Lacombe for the past 35 years. He was a veteran of World War II and served on the USS Drew, APA 162. Survivors include his wife, Euna Foret Kenney; two sons, Denis D. and Thomas M. Kenney Sr.; a stepson, Dennis E. Mouchon; a sister, Marie K. Bell; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Maria Rose Perez, a homemaker and former seamstress, died Jan. 19 of cancer at Metropolitan Hospice. She was 86. Mrs. Perez was born in Havana, Cuba, and lived in Metairie for the past nine years. She was a former seamstress at D.H. Holmes. Survivors include a son, Guy Lehman; a daughter, Nelly Gauthe; 10 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. A private service was held. United Funeral Service handled the arrangements.
