Cyreaque L. "C.J." Duet Jr., a contractor, died Friday at Ochsner Foundation Hospital. He was 82. Mr. Duet was born in Larose and lived in Luling. Survivors include two daughters, Mary D. Leblanc and Dorothy D. Duhe; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a stepgreat-grandchild. A Mass will be said Monday at 1 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Luling. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in St. Charles Mausoleum in Luling. Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Patrick McMahon, funeral director, 81

Patrick "Mr. Pat" Joseph McMahon Jr., retired executive representative for Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, died Tuesday at Sunrise Assisted Living Center in New Orleans. He was 81.
Mr. McMahon was a lifelong resident of New Orleans.
He graduated from Warren Easton High School and attended Tulane University and La Salle Extension College. He had been a track standout and a swimmer.
He was a Navy and Coast Guard veteran of World War II.
Mr. McMahon joined his father's business and became a licensed funeral director and embalmer in 1941. During his career, he served for 23 years as assistant manager of McMahon-Coburn Funeral Home; as president of McMahon-Coburn Life Insurance Co.; for eight years as general manager and director of operations of Lamana-Panno-Fallo Funeral Home; and for almost two decades as funeral director and arranger at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home and All Faiths Funeral Home.
He was past president of the Louisiana Insurers Conference and the Kiwanis Club of the Third District. He was a member of the board of directors of the Fireman's Charitable and Benevolent Association and former member of the board of directors for Commercial Bank and Trust Co. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion Lyons Post and the Ancient Order of Hibernia. He was a member of the Krewe of Alhambra.
In 1988, he was chosen an outstanding employee of Stewart Enterprises. He was recognized in 1999 by the New Orleans Funeral Directors Association for his 55 years as a licensed funeral director and for his contributions to the community.
He was a parishioner of St. Dominic's Catholic Church, where he was an usher for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Betty McMahon; a son, Pat McMahon, three daughters, Maurine Sickinger, Marilyn Meyer of Tampa, Fla., and Lisa Ellard of Baton Rouge; and eight grandchildren.
A Mass will be said Friday at 1 p.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Boulevard. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Rosalind Lindsey, a homemaker, died Thursday of complications from pneumonia at Tulane Medical Center. She was 38. Ms. Lindsey was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. She attended New Orleans public schools. Survivors include a son, Oliver Lindsey; two daughters, Rosalind and Rechelle Lindsey; three brothers, Floyd, Anthony and Troy Lindsey; a sister, Gwendolyn Martin; and a grandchild. A funeral will be held today at 10 a.m. at Tilly's Funeral Home, 2831 St. Claude Ave. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Burial will be in Holt Cemetery.

Renard Joseph Carter Jr., a kitchen helper, died June 6 at Charity Hospital of multiple gunshot wounds. He was 20. Mr. Carter was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. He attended Frederick Douglass High School. He worked at Mike Anderson's Seafood Restaurant. Survivors include a daughter, Re'ion Carter; his father, Joseph Carter Sr.; his mother, Delores Johnson Singleton; a stepfather, Maurice Singleton; a brother, Michael Carter; three sisters, Chequila, Renell and Delores Carter; and two grandparents, Joseph and Audrey Carter. Douglas Russell Chetta, a plumber, died May 23 of undetermined causes at his home. He was 31. Mr. Chetta was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie for the past 10 years. He had worked for Fassbenders Plumbing. Survivors include a daughter, Kelly Bivona; his father, Frank Chetta Jr.; his mother, Ernestine Simmons; four sisters, Peggy J. Jordan of Shreveport, Donna Alvet of Slidell, Connie Canifield and Connie Wilson; and his grandfather, Clifford Simmons. Dana "Kris" Brown, a supervisor with St. Charles Parish Mosquito Control, died Saturday of a heart attack while on the job. He was 50. Mr. Brown was born in Salisbury, Pa., and lived in Boutte for the past 13 years. Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Blanchard Brown; a stepson, Ed Raymond Veillon Jr. of Paradis; a stepdaughter, Tammy Veillon Pfeil of Bridge City; his father, Ralph Brown of Salisbury; his mother, Laura Brown of Salisbury; a brother, Nick Brown of Salisbury; a sister, Bonnie Mull of Salisbury; and three grandchildren. Edna Belisa Lopez, a medical technologist, died Monday of respiratory failure at Ochsner Foundation Hospital. She was 81. Miss Lopez was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico, and lived in Metairie for the past 38 years. She worked at Ochsner Foundation Hospital for 44 years and Touro Infirmary for 25 years. Herbert "Bud" Cooley, a carpenter, died May 8 of a heart attack at Regional Medical Center in Aiken, S.C. He was 63. Mr. Cooley was born in Hattiesburg, Miss., and lived in New Orleans for many years and in Trenton, S.C., for many years. He was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church in Zavalla, Texas. Survivors include his wife, Janice Cooley; three sons, William Mark Cooley of LaPlace, Johnathan Cooley of Cedar Hill, Texas, and Braxton Mark Cooley; two daughters, Arlene Laitinen of LaPlace and Christina Cooley of Detroit; a stepson, Robert Bohnenstiehl of Metairie; two stepdaughters, Kristi Cook of LaPlace and Kelly Bohnenstiehl of Trenton; four sisters, Mary Brooks of Zavalla, Cathy Cannon of Covington, Elaine Galvin of Metairie and Joan Jagneaux of Pearl River; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
