Ronnie Fernado McMaster Sr., a businessman and manager, died Sunday of a gunshot wound at St. Bernard Avenue and Owens Street. He was 36. Mr. McMaster was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. He graduated from St. Augustine High School and received a bachelor's degree in business administration from Southern University at New Orleans. He worked at the New Orleans Business and Industrial District, was a partner in Jazzland Amusement Park Concession and managed the singing group Gentle Touch. He was a parishioner of St. Monica Catholic Church. Survivors include his companion, Nicole S. Montrell; two sons, Ronnie F. McMaster Jr. and Ronnie Neal; a daughter, Calandra Lynne McMaster; his mother, Audrey J. Lee; two brothers, Bruce McMaster Jr. and Damon McMaster; two sisters, Nikki N. Lee and Stacey McMaster Henderson; and his grandmother, Pernella Jenkins. A funeral will be held Saturday at noon at D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home, 3933 Washington Ave. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Isiah "Ike" Nelson, a laborer, died Monday of liver cancer at West Jefferson Medical Center. He was 65. Mr. Nelson was born in Big Ben and lived in New Orleans for the past 60 years. Survivors include two brothers, Bobby Barker Sr. and Levy McGlory. A funeral will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church No. 2, 3928 Clematis St. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Restlawn Park Cemetery in Avondale. Georgia Mamela Power, a retired wedding consultant, died Sunday at Lafon Nursing Facility of the Sisters of the Holy Family. She was 87. Mrs. Power was born in Sacramento, Calif., and lived in New Orleans most of her life. Survivors include two sons, William J. Power Jr. and Michael J. Power; a daughter, Georgia Power Horne; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. A Mass will be said today at noon at St. Matthew the Apostle Church, 10021 Jefferson Highway, River Ridge. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Metairie Cemetery. Josefina "Inang" Guevarra Reyes, a homemaker, died Friday of kidney failure at her home. She was 74. Ms. Reyes was born in Las Pinas, Philippines, and lived in Harvey for many years. Survivors include six sons, Eddie, Lito, Vic, Chico, Louis and Gene Reyes; five daughters, Belinda Carpio, Hennie Batiquin, Florrie Breaux, Chris Eusebio and Rosie Johnson; two brothers, Emilio and Tommy Guevarra; two sisters, Remedios Avendano and Estella Cristobal; 19 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. A Mass will be said Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 West Bank Expressway, Harvey. Freddie Robinson, a retired Army veteran, died Tuesday at Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He was 84. Mr. Robinson was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. He served in World War II. Survivors include his wife, Pearl Paul Robinson; two sons, Freddie Gerard and Kerry Martin Robinson; four daughters, Linda R. Johnson, Karen R. Honeycutt, and Dianne and Denise Robinson; 19 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held today at 10 a.m. at D.W. George Stewart, a retired engineer, died Thursday at Slidell Memorial Hospital. He was 77. Mr. Stewart was born in New Orleans and lived in Slidell. He was a staff sergeant during World War II and received the Good Conduct Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Theater of Operations Medal, the Philippines Medal, the Bronze Star and the Bronze Arrowhead. He was a graduate of Jesuit High School, attended Tulane University and was a graduate of Loyola University. He was a former employee of Gulf Engineering Co. of New Orleans and Raymond International Inc. He was a lifelong member of the Southern Yacht Club and a former member of the American Welding Society and the New Orleans Machinists Union. Survivors include his wife, Imelda Bruno Stewart; two sons, David W. and Dod S. Stewart; two daughters, Hope and Mary Stewart Morse; three stepdaughters, Dinah Trahan Stewart, Karen Trahan Baye and Dolly Trahan Reeves; and 11 grandchildren. A funeral will be held today at 1 p.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Lake Lawn Park.

She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. She was a member of St. Luke AME Church, where she served on the Usher Board. Maurice "Moe" John Vix, a district manager for Pernod Ricard USA, died Friday of cancer at his home. He was 44. Mr. Vix was born in Metairie and lived in Mandeville for the past four years. He graduated from Archbishop Rummel High School and received a degree in business from the University of New Orleans. He was a member of Wines Unlimited and The Nobles band. He was inducted into the Louisiana Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, coached soccer for the Lafreniere and Mandeville soccer clubs, and coached basketball for the Amateur Athletic Union girls' biddy basketball team. He was a past Grand Knight of the St. Christopher Parish Knights of Columbus and a member of Father Peter Boerding Council No. 6357. Survivors include his fiancee, Sheryl B. Cross; two daughters, Ashley L. and Emily C. Vix; his father, Clifford A. Vix Jr.; two brothers, Clifford A. "Skip" Vix III and Ronald P. Vix; and a grandchild. A Mass was said Monday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Belle Chasse. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mothe Funeral Home handled arrangements.
