Helen Ann Treadaway Cali, a paraprofessional with Fisher High School, died Tuesday of cancer at East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie. She was 47. Mrs. Cali was born in New Orleans and lived in Marrero for the past 23 years. Survivors include her husband, Frank C. Cali Sr.; two sons, Gregory Charles and Frank C. Cali Jr.; her father, Alvin J. Treadaway; her mother, Gloria Garrad Treadaway; two brothers, Michael P. and Alvin J. Treadaway Jr.; and a grandchild. A funeral will be held today at 11 a.m. at Mothe Funeral Homes, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Richard Patrick Maly, a senior mechanical engineer for Occidental Chemical Corp., died Tuesday of injuries suffered in a car accident in Luling. He was 38. Mr. Maly was born in Yankton, S.D., and lived in Crofton, Neb., before moving to Kenner. He graduated from Crofton High School and received a degree in engineering from the University of New Orleans. He formerly worked at Agrico Co. for nine years. Survivors include his fiancée, Kimberly Fryer of New Orleans; his father, Charles Maly, and his mother, Mariellen Maly, both of Crofton; three brothers, Russell Maly of Sumner, Wash., Timothy Maly of Norfolk, Va., and John Maly of Augusta, Kan.; and three sisters, Vicki Arens and Lori Mueller, both of Crofton, and Amy Bramschrieber of Sioux Falls, S.D. A Mass will be said Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Crofton. Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. with a vigil service at the church. Burial will be in St. Rose Cemetery in Crofton. Wintz Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Belle Larose Lemarie, a homemaker and retired executive secretary of American College of Emergency Physicians, died Thursday of pulmonary fibrosis at Memorial Medical Center. She was 74. Mrs. Lemarie was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. She attended Mercy Academy, Maryville College in St. Louis and Loyola University in New Orleans. She was the recipient of The Order of St. Louis Medal. With her husband, she co-founded Tarahumara Children's Hospital Fund. Shewas a parishioner of St. Dominic Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband, Sidney L. Lemarie; four sons, Lawrence F. Lemarie of Lafayette, James L., Russell L. and Paul L. Lemarie; four daughters, Mignon L. Treuting of Mandeville, Charlotte L. Noto of Katy, Texas, Clare L. Guilbault and Rhea Gonczi; and 21 grandchildren. A Mass will be said Monday at 12:30 p.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 775 Harrison Ave. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Metairie Cemetery. Mildred F. Brown, a homemaker, died Tuesday at her home. She was 82. Mrs. Brown was born in New Orleans and lived in Harvey for the past eight years. She attended Rosenwald High School in Marrero. Survivors include three sons, Larry James Brown, Louis Anthony Brown and Lyle Steven Brown; four daughters, Loreta B. Anderson, Lois "Maxine" Brown, Linda A. Brown and Lenora T. Griffin; two brothers, Okley and Otis Fazande; two sisters, Ethel Conway and Joyce Davis; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Henry Jude Joseph, a carpenter, died Saturday of cancer at his home. He was 62. Mr. Joseph was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. He attended St. Augustine High School. He was a corporal in the Army, receiving marksman badges for rifle, carbine and missile. He was a self-employed carpenter and also worked for New Orleans. Survivors include his wife, Ora Coleman Johnson Joseph; a son, Bryant P. Joseph Sr.; two stepsons, Donovan and Kirby Johnson; two stepdaughters, Sheryl Coleman and Cendi C. Rawles; four brothers, the Rev. Lloyd Mercadel, Maurice Mercadel and Arthur and Albert Joseph; two sisters, Arthurine Alevis and Ann Lawson; and 12 grandchildren. She graduated from Xavier Prep High School and Southern University at New Orleans. She was a former social worker with the Office of Community Services. Survivors include a brother, Byron W. Heath, and four sisters, Aurelia H. Orr, Bettye H. Wilkinson, Bernice E. Heath and Bernadette H. Hayes. Grace Guidry, a homemaker, died Monday of undetermined causes at Bayou Village Nursing Home in Crowley. She was 71. Ms. Guidry was born in Lake Arthur and lived in Crowley for many years. Survivors include a son, Jerry Guidry of Escondido, Calif.; two daughters, Gloria Guidry of Jefferson and Liza Taylor of Grand Couteau; four brothers, William Kershaw of Millington, Tenn., Murphy Kershaw of Iowa, La., Adam Kershaw of Sulphur and Clifford Kershaw of Moss Bluff; and a sister, Lydia Delaney of Lake Charles. John Boogaerts, an architect and urban planner, died Thursday of injuries suffered in a car accident in New York City. He was 68. Mr. Boogaerts was born in Alexandria and lived in New Orleans for many years before moving to Greenwich, Conn. He graduated from Tulane and Columbia universities. He was the principal urban designer for the New York Housing and Development Administration under Mayor John Lindsay. He initiated the major historic designations for Manhattan's South Street Seaport and Carnegie Hill. He was a longtime Upper East Side zoning activist, and he successfully organized a community defense of East 86th Street's low-rise character, achieving the greatest exchange of zoning density in the history of the New York City Zoning Resolution. In 1974, he ran for a seat on the U.S. House of Representatives as a Republican candidate opposing Edward Koch. He also created the first comprehensive Arabic and English maps of Saudi Arabia while acting as a United Nations envoy from the Centre for Housing, Building and Planning. As an architect and planner for the U.S. General Services Administration in New York, he helped restore the historic federal courthouse in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico, and helped renovate 6 World Trade Center, the U.S. Customs House that was later destroyed in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. He was a member of the Century Association and was writing a book about New York clubs. Survivors include his wife, Florence Boogaerts; two sons, F.J. Whitmore Boogaerts of Westport, Mass., and Pieter F. J. Boogaerts of Kensington, Md.; two daughters, Charrette Boyce of South Hadley, Mass., and Yvonne Trapolin Boogaerts of Providence, R.I.; and three grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Presbyterian Church of Old Greenwich in Connecticut.

Eduardo Stamp Sr., a chef for Treme Corner Cafe, died March 14 of a stroke at Pendleton Methodist Memorial Hospital. He was 60. Mr. Stamp was born in Rotan, Honduras, and lived in New Orleans for the past 10 years. He was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church. He taught young adults about the cooking and restaurant business. Survivors include a son, Eduardo L. Stamp Jr.; two daughters, Scarlet X. and Peggy L. Stamp; a brother, Gary Bogel; and two grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Monday at 7 p.m. at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 1130 N. Rampart St. Burial will be private. Charles J. "Chief" Prevost Sr., a retired bricklayer, died Monday at his home. He was 80. Mr. Prevost was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. He was a member of International Union of Bricklayers & Allied Craft Workers Local No. 1. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
