Larry Joseph Jackson, a certified nursing assistant at West Jefferson Medical Center, died Wednesday of cancer at West Jefferson Medical Center. He was 53. Mr. Jackson was born in New Orleans and lived in Marrero for the past 10 years. He graduated from L.B. Landry High School. He was an elder at Greater Zion Field Full Gospel Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Ida Jones Jackson; three daughters, Tiffany and Javada Goodwin and Renata Lyons; a stepson, Charles Wilson Cheatam; a stepdaughter, Demetri Cheatam; his father, Clarence Williams; his mother, Yvonne Sullen Williams; a brother, Ronald Williams; two sisters, Sharon Richardson and Kim W. Broadway; his grandmother, Julia Fields; and four grandchildren. A wake is Monday at 7:30 p.m. at Greater Zion Field Full Gospel Baptist Church, 636 11th St., Westwego. Dismissal is Tuesday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. Davis Mortuary is handling arrangements.

Constance Osborne Harter, a former piano teacher, died Thursday of a brain hemorrhage at Memorial Medical Center. She was 80. Mrs. Harter was born in Brookville, Pa., and lived in New Orleans for more than 50 years. She attended Beaver College in Glenside, Pa. She was a volunteer at the New Orleans Museum of Art, a member of St. Charles Avenue Presbyterian Church, a founding member of Woodland Presbyterian Church and a former choir director. Survivors include a son, Sandy Harter; two daughters, Cynthia Cay Harter deBlanc and Rebecca Jane Harter; a brother, Herbert A. Osborne of Newark, Del.; two sisters, Joy O. Clark of Houston and Mitzi O. Carr of Trenton, N.J.; and four grandchildren. A memorial service will be held today at 3 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1329 Jackson Ave., followed by a reception at the Church Parish House. Bultman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Julia Esther Sellers, an infant, died March 14 of complications at birth at Woman's Hospital in Baton Rouge. Survivors include her mother, Dr. Denise Adair Sellers; her father, Andrew Parr Sellers; her grandmothers, Jeanie Maihes Sellers of Mandeville and Judy Judice Powers of Baton Rouge; and her grandfathers, Andrew Parr Sellers Sr. of Mandeville and John Dale Powers Sr. of Baton Rouge. A private graveside service was held Monday in Greenoaks Memorial Park in Baton Rouge. Rabenhorst Funeral Home in Baton Rouge was in charge of arrangements.

George Joseph "George The Barber" LeClercq, a retired barber, died Tuesday of respiratory failure at Chalmette Medical Center. He was 71. Mr. LeClercq was born in Plaquemine and lived in Marrero. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was the owner of George's Barber Shop and a former general contractor. He was a member of Forum Lodge No. 395, F&AM.; Survivors include his wife, Zoe Richoux LeClercq; a son, Keith LeClercq; two daughters, Gail Hodges and Karen Temple; a sister, Lottie Bouquet; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A Mass will be said today at 11 a.m. at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero. Visitation will begin at 7:30 a.m. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park in Gretna.

Adele Ann Barabino Martin, a homemaker, died Friday of kidney failure at Pendleton Memorial Methodist Hospital. She was 69. Mrs. Martin was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Ann Myers Wilson; three sons, Curtis, Mark Anthony and John Davis Myers; two daughters, Joyce Ann Myers and Lois Ann Brown; his mother, Lucinda W. Kenneth Joseph Dupre, a preventive maintenance supervisor at Avondale Industries , died Saturday at Touro Infirmary of complications from a work-related accident. He was 54. Mr. Dupre was born in Westwego and lived in Marrero for the past 10 years. He graduated from West Jefferson High School. He was a sergeant in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was head coach for the men's varsity soccer team at L.W. Higgins High School for four years and coached youth soccer for 20 years. Survivors include his wife, LaDonna Browning Dupre; two sons, Kenneth Brent Dupre of Prairieville and Brock Darren Dupre of Baton Rouge; a daughter, Rhonda Dupre Bourg; a sister, Margaret Dupre LeBlanc; and a grandchild. A Mass will be said Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, 146 Fourth St., Westwego.
