Minnie C. Berry, a retired employee of Charity Hospital, died Tuesday at her home. She was 77. Mrs. Berry was born in Folsom and lived in New Orleans. Survivors include a son, Curtis Berry; a daughter, Rita B. Gaines; three grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held today at 10 a.m. at D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home, 3933 Washington Ave. Burial will be in Providence Memorial Park.
DILLON, GLORIA ASKINS

Gloria Askins Dillon, a former employee of the Orleans Parish School Board, died Tuesday of leukemia at Pendleton Memorial Methodist Hospital. She was 61. Mrs. Dillon was born in Plaquemine and lived in New Orleans for the past 42 years. She was a member of Mount Herman Baptist Church and served on Usher Board No. 2. Survivors include her husband, Marshall Dillon Jr.; a son, Michael Askins; three daughters, Karen Askins, Pamela Davenport and Undrell Steward; a stepson, Rodney Dillon; two stepdaughters, Velda and Kimberly Dillon; her mother, Lillian J. Ovete; three brothers, Wesley Askins of Los Angeles and Ulysses Askins of New Orleans and Lawrence Ovete of Plaquemine; a sister, Lillian Banks of Plaquemine; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. A funeral will be held today at 9:30 a.m. at Mount Herman Baptist Church, 2153 N. Broad St. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park. William Edgar Elliott, owner and broker of Bill Elliott Realty, died May 23 of colon cancer at his home. He was 69. Mr. Elliott was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie for the past four years. He attended New Orleans Academy and Tulane University. He was a Paul Harris Fellow and past president of the Metairie Sunrise Rotary. He was a member of the Tipmasters, the Esplanade Square Civic Association, the George Washington Sons of the American Revolution Roundtable Club and Louisiana 102 Masons. Survivors include his wife, Jacklyn Tigner Elliott; two sons, John Albert Elliott of Lauderdale Lakes, Fla., and Bean Arthur Elliott of Metairie; two daughters, Grace Madeleine Marie Elliott of Culver City, Calif., and Mignon Danielle Elliott of Metairie; his mother, Margaret Elliott Storm; and two grandchildren. A memorial service will be held today at 3 p.m. at Tulane's Chapel of the Holy Spirit, 1100 Broadway. Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Woodrow Joseph "Woody" Bergeron Sr., a retired welder at Kaiser Aluminum Corp., died Thursday at Memorial Medical Center. He was 89. Mr. Bergeron was born in Napoleonville and lived in New Orleans for the past 73 years. Survivors include his wife, Elise Canepa Bergeron; a son, Woodrow J. Bergeron Jr.; a daughter, Jessie Brupbacher; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mary Katherine Bates, a homemaker, died Thursday of complications from diabetes at Slidell Memorial Hospital. She was 53. Mrs. Bates was born in Baton Rouge and lived in Harvey for many years and in Carriere, Miss., for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Henleyfield. Survivors include her husband, Daniel Bates; a brother, Leroy Holt of Gretna and a sister, Kathleen LeCompte of Bridge City. Robert F. Word, an air conditioning and heating technician, died Tuesday of complications from a stroke at his home. He was 36. Mr. Word was born in Rhode Island, previously lived in Slidell and lived in St. Joseph, Mo., for the past five years. He was a Navy veteran. Survivors include his son, Philip Word of Slidell; two daughters, Melissa and Lauren Word of Slidell; his father, Jimmy F. Word of Port Jervis, N.Y.; his mother, Carol T. Cameron of St. Joseph, Mo.; two brothers, Jimmy Word of Pensacola, Fla., and Jeffrey Cameron of St. Joseph, Mo.; and three sisters, Susan Vital of Slidell, Lisa Harford of Port Jervis, N.Y., and Norma Jean Nichols of Clyde, Texas. A funeral will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd., Slidell. Joseph Anthony Selzer, former owner and operator of the Ornamental Sheet Metal Works/Joe A. Selzer Roofing Company, died Wednesday at his home. He was 90. Mr. Selzer was born in New Orleans and lived in Arabi for 41 years. He attended Delgado Community College for two years. He was a founding member of St. Robert Bellarmine parish and he received the Order of St. Louis Medal from the Archdiocese of New Orleans for his dedication to the Catholic Church. He was an active member of the Explorer Scouts of America in Our Lady Star of the Sea parish. He was an active member of the Annunciation High School Cooperative Club and the Annunciation Alumni Association. Survivors include his wife, Rosalie Vachetta Selzer; three daughters, June Mary Selzer, Beverly Selzer Flauss and JoAnn Selzer Flauss; a brother, Jerome Q. Selzer Sr.; a sister, June Selzer DeBoer; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. A Mass will be said today at noon at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 815 Badger Drive in Arabi. Julio "Julito" Salgado, a retired dental technician, died Thursday of complications from diabetes at Doctors Hospital in Metairie. He was 68. Mr. Salgado was born in Havana, Cuba, and lived in the New Orleans area for the past 46 years. He received an associate degree in dentistry in Havana. Survivors include three sisters, Faustina C. Keen, Consuelo Salgado and Catalina Salgado. She was a junior high school teacher in the St. Tammany Parish public school system for 20 years. She was a parishioner of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband, John C. Lamarque Jr.; two sons, John C. "Charlie" Lamarque III and Joey Carr Lamarque; two daughters, Johnelle Claire Lamarque and Jaclyn Charlotte Lamarque; three sisters, Lynn Drumm, Noel Gates of Olympia, Wash., and Muriel Soileau of Conyers, Ga.; and two grandchildren. Bettye J. Pike Keller, a retired rehabilitation director for the Lebanon, Pa., County Redevelopement Authority, died Monday at her home. She was 80. Mrs. Keller was born in Harrisburg, Pa., and lived in Cleon, Pa. and in Harvey. She was a graduate of John Harris High School in 1938 and Central Pennsylvania Business School. She was a member of Aurora United Methodist Church in New Orleans. She was a former member and past president of the Cleona Women's Club, where she initiated the first recycling program in Cleona. She was a Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include two sons, Thomas G. Keller of Hinckley, Ohio, and Christopher P. Keller of Kenner; a daughter, Kim Wold of Harvey; two sisters, Ella Kreiser of Harrisburg and Carrie Lehrich of Bullhead City, Ariz.; and four grandchildren. A funeral will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Kreamer Funeral Home, 618 E. Main St., Annville, Pa. Visitation will be Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with military honors.
