Donald Walter Priest, a retired lab technician for Mobil Oil refinery, died Wednesday of lung cancer at Pendleton Memorial Methodist Hospital. He was 70. Mr. Priest was born in New Orleans and lived in Chalmette for the past 45 years. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of St. Mark's Marksmen. Survivors include a son, Gary Steven Priest, and two grandchildren. A funeral will be held today at 12:30 p.m. at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St. in Chalmette. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.

Valcour Dominic Sr., a retired brick mason, died Monday of undetermined causes at his home. He was 75. Mr. Dominic was born in Lebeau and lived in Harvey for many years. He was a veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Rideau Dominic; a son, Valcour Dominic Jr.; four daughters, Glenda D. Wilson, Jennifer D. Jackson, Valerie D. Curtis and Javanda Dominic; two brothers, Eugene Dominick Sr. and Edison Dominick; a sister, Mary Miles of Seattle, Wash.; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Herbert Joseph Brown, a painter, died Friday of liver disease in Metairie. He was 62. Mr. Brown was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie for the past 32 years. He was a sergeant in the Army. Survivors include two sons, Larry W. and Herbert J. Brown Jr.; a daughter, Cheryl B. Anseman; three sisters, Lin Incardona, Charlene Tavan and Sheila Caruso; and 10 grandchildren. Roger Kay Scott, a process and brine technician at Occidental Chemical in Taft, died Nov. 13 of heart failure at St. Charles Hospital in Luling. He was 53. Mr. Scott was born in Norco and lived in Luling. Survivors include his wife, Darlene Hill Scott; a son, Roger Scott Jr. of St. Rose; two daughters, Tamera Scott Brown of Slidell and Regina Scott; his mother, Sadie Mae Bailey Scott of Norco; two brothers, Harry Scott Jr. of Norco and Tyronne Scott of Norco; four sisters, Linda Martin and Beverly Scott of Norco, Betty Joe Bailey of Houston, and Gwendolyn Scott of Kenner; and seven grandchildren. Survivors include his father, Louis Hyde Sr.; his mother, Patricia K. Borja; a son, Jason Smith; two brothers, Louis Charles Hyde Jr. and Darren Lee Hyde; and two grandchildren. The Rev. Joseph Mitchell, a retired clerk printer, died Sunday of complications from diabetes at Ochsner Foundation Hospital. He was 67. The Rev. Mitchell was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. He attended the Baptist Seminary. He was a past employee at Deluxe Check Printer. He was a member of New Light Baptist Church, where he served on the Deacon Board. Survivors include his wife, Myra Ella Belisle Mitchell; a son, Joseph Belisle Mitchell; two daughters, Myra E. Mitchell Bickham and Connie E. James "Ron" Willingham, a retired insurance adjuster and private investigator, died Monday of heart failure at Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He was 66. Mr. Willingham was born in Morton, Miss., and lived in Lacombe for the past 30 years. He graduated from Demopolis High School and attended the University of Alabama. He was a veteran of the Navy and Marine Corps. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Kellum Willingham; two daughters, Tracy Scott and Shelly Willingham; a stepson, Chris Filby; five stepdaughters, Chris Johnson, K.K. McNeil, Nicki Cooley, Lisa Welty and Stacey Crouch'Law; two brothers, Ellis and Eddie Willingham; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Carrie Mace Young Chiocchio, the secretary of Third Presbyterian Church, died Saturday at Touro Infirmary. She was 99. Mrs. Chiocchio was born in Rosepine and lived in New Orleans for the past 68 years. She was a graduate of Rosenberg High School in Rosenberg, Texas, and the Baptist Bible Institute, now known as the New Orleans Theological Seminary. She was a former secretary for Canal Boulevard Baptist Church, where she served for 38 years. She was also a Sunday school teacher and active member of several committees at Third Presbyterian Church. Survivors include two sons, Thomas Stanley and Oddino Stanley Chiocchio Jr.; a daughter, Katherine Chiocchio Niemczuk; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1329 Jackson Ave. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m.
