Ethel Heider Belloni, a retired bookkeeper with the Church Supply House, died Sunday of respiratory failure at Waldon Health Care Center in Kenner. She was 88. Mrs. Belloni was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie for the past 49 years. She did volunteer work at St. Augustine Grammar School and St. Aloysius High School and for the Mother's Club and rectory of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Metairie. She also was treasurer of that parish's Altar Society for more than 20 years. She was a volunteer at East Jefferson General Hospital for 20 years, logging more than 5,200 hours of service. Survivors include a daughter, Ethel B. Tarleton of Kenner; three sons, Kenneth J. Belloni of Plano, Texas, Robert J. Belloni of Mandeville and Nathaniel F. Belloni Jr.; a sister, Armide H. Chenevert of Baton Rouge; 13 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. A Mass will be said today at noon at Lamana-Panno-Fallo Funeral Home, 1717 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in St. Louis Cemetery No. 3.

Gustavia Butler Barnes, a homemaker, died Thursday of congestive heart failure at St. Claude General Hospital. She was 65. Mrs. Barnes was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. She attended Kennedy High School. She was a former employee of the Orleans Parish School Board. She was a parishioner of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband, William Barnes; two daughters, Denise and Deborah Barnes of Marrero; a son, John Butler; three sisters, Evelyn B. Thomas, Gertrude Robinson and Shirley Robertson; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. A Mass will be said Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 1835 St. Roch Ave. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Arthur Jorden Vanner, a retired longshoreman, died May 21 of a heart attack at Memorial Medical Center. He was 78. Mr. Vanner was born in Pinckneyville, Miss., and lived in New Orleans for the past 40 years. Survivors include his companion, Mary Ann Davis; two stepdaughters, Lillimae Warren of Baton Rouge and Lucinda Jones; two sisters, Joyce Spann of Sebastopol, Miss., and Carine Stewart; 15 step-grandchildren; and 40 step-great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held today at 11 a.m. at Calvin J. Young Funeral Home, 2512 LaSalle St. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Burial will be in Providence Memorial Park.

Rosemary Sansoni Reich, a homemaker, died Tuesday at her home. She was 83. Mrs. Reich was born in New Orleans and lived in Loranger for the past 21 years. She was a past PTA president of several Jefferson Parish schools. Survivors include a son, Stephen Reich of Newport Beach, Calif.; five daughters, Jean Thompson of Orlando, Fla., Katie Merryweather King of Apopka, Fla., Helen Reich of Covington, Bonnie Lee Perk and Rosemary Tassin; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held today at 10:45 a.m. at Schoen Funeral Home, 1414 S. Tyler St., Covington. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Hammond.

Mildred Marshall Moody, a retired dietitian technician, died Saturday of heart failure at Physicians Hospital of New Orleans. She was 77. Mrs. Moody was born in Luling and lived in Gretna. She graduated from L.B. Landry High School. Mrs. Moody was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church, where she was the former president of the Senior Choir and treasurer of the Pastor's Aid Club. She also was a member of Pride of Gretna Chapter No. 60 Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include three sons, Lawrence Moody Jr., Morris Moody and Raynell Michael Moody Sr.; a daughter, JoAnn Moody; her mother, Victoria S. Marshall; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Dismissal will be today at 9:30 a.m. at St. Paul Baptist Church, 1509 Monroe St., Gretna. Burial will be in McDonoghville Cemetery in Gretna. Richard William Palmer, an inspector at Avondale Industries Inc., died Sunday of injuries sustained in a car accident on U.S. 90. He was 50. Mr. Palmer was born in St. Augustine, Fla., and lived in Boutte for the past 20 years. Survivors include his wife, Debbie Bourg Palmer; a son, Brad William Palmer; a daughter, Brandi P. Bertacci; a brother, Rodger E. Palmer; and his mother, Mary Prince Palmer. A funeral was held at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero. Burial was private.

William F. Norsworthy, who retired as director of information services for the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in 1988, died Tuesday at Slidell Memorial Hospital. He was 77. Mr. Norsworthy was born in Baton Rouge and lived in Slidell for 21 years. He was a graduate of the LSU School of Journalism. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific. During his journalistic career he was involved in newspaper, radio, television and public relations throughout Louisiana and in Texas. He was a member of the LSU Alumni Association, St. James Lodge No. 47, and Free and Accepted Masons in Baton Rouge and was a volunteer at Slidell Memorial Hospital. He was a lay eucharistic minister for the Diocese of Louisiana of the Episcopal Church and was a communicant of Christ Episcopal Church in Slidell. He is survived by his wife, Elaine McFaul Norsworthy; a son, William F. Norsworthy Jr. of Clearwater, Fla.; two daughters, Margaret N. Greenwood of Palos Verdes Estates, Calif., and Barbara N. Bourgeois; a sister, Rosina N. Henderson of Baton Rouge; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. A memorial service will be held today at 2 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, 1034 Seventh St., Slidell. Ashes will be buried in the Consecrated Vigil Garden of the church. Winston Lloyd Murray Sr., a retired employee of the city of New Orleans, died Monday in Lafayette. He was 85. Mr. Murray was born in Panama, lived in Jamaica and moved to New Orleans in 1947. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Lavigne Murray; two sons, Dr. Winston Murray Jr. of Hammond and John Murray; a daughter, Yvonne Mullings of New York; a sister, Mildred Wright of Kingston, Jamaica; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. James Samuel Key, a retired electronic engineer, died Tuesday at Lutheran Home of New Orleans. He was 94. Mr. Key was born in Greenwood, Miss., and lived in New Orleans for the past six years. He was the owner and operator of Key Electric Services in Pacific Grove, Calif. He was a 32nd-degree Mason, Scottish Rite, and a member of Pacific Grove Lodge No. 331. He received the 50-Year Golden Veteran Award in June, 1996. He also was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Ninneman Key; two sons, James Samuel Key Jr. of Paducah, Ky., and Byron William Key of Boerne, Texas; two daughters, Mary Alice Hodge of Greenwood and Susan Melisse Key; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
