Gunnar James Williamson
(May 2, 1989 - March 8, 2012)
Gunnar was born May 2, 1989 at Lane Memorial Hospital in Zachary. He grew up and attended school in Pride, LA. Raised to be honorable, honest, loyal, respectful, and to always be available to those in need; he lived as he was raised to be. He worked for Roy Goodman, owner of Goodman Painting from the age of 15. Gunnar was capable of fixing anything. He holds the LSU record for being able to disassemble, reassemble and have a small engine running in under five minutes. His electrical ability was that of veteran electricians. His computer knowledge exceeded those who posses degrees. His mechanical ability exceeded those with many years of experience. He was taken from his daddy, Marshall Wayne Bernard and his mother as a result of a senseless robbery and beating in Tigerland that left him brain dead and on life support. As a result, all of his organs were donated so that others may live. His parents encourage other families to do the same so that those who would ordinarily have little chance to live without donor organs will be given a second chance that their son didn’t receive. Many thanks to everyone who stood beside this family with love, encouragement, and support. Gunnar was preceded in death by his great-great-grandmother, Susie Annie Westbrook, his maternal grandfather, Clyde M. “Snooky” Williamson, his maternal great-grandmother Eloise Westbrook Williamson, his maternal aunt Tommye Lynne Goodwin, his paternal grandfather Morris Osbourne Bernard, his paternal grandmother, Carolyn Jewell Bernard and his brother, Jacob Adam Bernard. He is survived by his moma and daddy, Marshall Wayne and Robin Williamson Bernard, his brother Marshall Wayne Bernard II, his sister, Brandi Nicole Bernard, and his fiancé Kemleh “Kem” Faical. Visitation will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc in Zachary on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 from 5pm until 8pm and then on Thursday, March 15, from 9am until services at 11am, conducted by Gunnar’s uncle, the Rev. Keith Osbourne Bernard of the Magnolia Christian Assembly. Burial will be in Kirkwood Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Caleb Kistler, Jacob Achee, Van Shannon, Anthony Bower, Ben Kennedy, Roy Goodman, and his mother, Robin Williamson Bernard, who brought him into the world and will carry him out of it. Friends wishing to make memorial donations may make them to help defray funeral costs. An account has been set up with Chase Bank and your generosity is appreciated.
