Louise Felps Croft

Louise Felps Croft, a resident of Zachary, LA, died on Thursday July 12, 2012 at the Louisiana War Veterans' Home. Visitation will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary, LA on Sunday, July 15, 2012 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and then on Monday at the Sandy Creek Baptist Church from 10 a.m. until funeral services at 11 a.m., conducted by Rev. Jerry Potts. Burial will be in the church cemetery. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda Croft Martin and Dr. Howard Martin of Zachary; two sisters: Lillian Peevy of Pineville, LA, and Alma Stearns of Eclectic, AL; two brothers: Verlyn Felps and his wife Brenda of Clinton, LA, and Donald Felps of Jacksonville, FL; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred Croft; son Barry Croft; and daughter Tamara Croft LeBlanc. During World War II, she served as a nurse in the U.S. Army, and was stationed in Oklahoma.
Nancy Lynn Barnett Pierce
(January 12, 1963 - July 11, 2012)
"Your will oh Lord…nothing more… nothing less… nothing else." Nancy filled our lives with love, joy and laughter. She passed from this life into the hands of the Lord on July 11, 2012 at the age of 49. She was born in Gary, Indiana on January 12, 1963. She lived in Bluff Creek and was a longtime resident of East Feliciana Parish. She was a 1983 graduate of Clinton High School and a 2011 graduate of Southeastern University. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend, who loved the Lord and served Him in all that she did. She was passionate about education and was a gifted teacher. She was devoted to her family and her church. She was involved in mission work and taught her children the value of serving others by example. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be held at Bluff Creek Baptist Church on Sunday, July 15, 2012 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Monday, July 16, 2012 from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. religious services conducted by Reverend Billy Carpenter. Burial to follow at Bluff Creek Cemetery. She is survived by her devoted husband of 19 years Russell "Rusty" K. Pierce, Jr. and her three loving children Amanda Michell Dykes, Denver Berlin Pierce and Danielle Kathleen Pierce. Three sisters Gayle and her husband Ed Hughes. Evelyn and her husband Arnold Wanak, Dawn Barnett. One brother, John Barnett and his wife Casey Efferson Barnett and numerous nieces and nephews. Father-in-law Russell Keith Pierce, Sr. and Mother-in-law Sandra Hubbs Pierce and a brother-in-law Carl Alan Pierce. Preceded in death by her parents, Aubrey Earl Barnett and Evelyn Anne Martinez Barnett. James Eugene "Jimmy" Sullivan, Jr.

James "Jimmy" Eugene Sullivan, Jr. passed away peacefully Monday, July 9, 2012 at his home in Watson, LA. He had been surrounded by family and friend the past weeks as he battled the final stages of cancer. He was the beloved son of Mattie Ruth Hancock Curtis of Watson, LA. He was predeceased by his father, James Eugene Sullivan, Sr.; his former wife, Georgia Belle White Sullivan; maternal grandparents, Ethel Underwood and James Ryles Hancock; and paternal grandparents, Ida Mae Roe and Reginald Horace Sullivan. He is survived by his mother, his daughters, Ashley Sullivan Havard and Linsey Sullivan Garig and husband Bo James Garig, two grandchildren, Dawson James Havard and Mary Elizabeth Havard, and numerous cousins and friends. He was born October 13, 1947 at Baton Rouge General Hospital. He was a member of Live Oak High School Class of 1965. He resided for many years in Clinton, LA before returning to Watson. He was a former Iron Worker, Teamster, Cattleman, and an avid hunter and fisherman. He was also a loving son and father and grandfather who will be remembered and missed by all. Services will be held Sunday, July 15, 2012 from 1:30pm until 4:00pm at Live Oak United Methodist Church in Watson, LA. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Jay Nesom, G.T. Owen, IV, Wayne Tucker, Johnny Hancock, Robbie Hancock, Aaron Scott, Sterling Vincent and Donnie Arbour. Honorary Pallbearers are George Ellis, Penny Pendarvis, W.S. Edmond W. Havely

Edmond W. Havely, 88, a native of Burrton, KS and a resident of St. Francisville, LA, died on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at the Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jackson, LA. He was retired, after working for Chrysler Space Corporation for over 16 years. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Evelyn “Steve” Havely; one daughter and her spouse Pamela S. Brown and Michael L. Brown of St. Francisville; one son, Steven D. Havely of New Iberia, LA; and one granddaughter, Ashley N. Brown. He was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge #311 of Slidell, LA.
Frank Eugene Scimeca

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7. A beloved husband, father and grandfather, Frank Scimeca died Monday, July 16, 2012 at the Carpenter House in Baton Rouge. He was 69 years old, a native of Plaquemine, and a resident of Clinton. He was retired after being employed for 33 years with the EBR School Board as the Maintenance Transportation Director. He was recently retired from the Parish Quad Area, where he had worked for 15 years. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Clear Creek Methodist Church, Felixville from 9:00am until service time at 12:00pm (noon), conducted by Rev. Ken Graham. Interment will be in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 47 years; Bonnie Hurst Scimeca, a daughter and son-in-law; Ashley Scimeca Horne & husband Jason of Clinton, a sister and brother-in-law; Deborah Pellerin & Husband Gill of Lafayette, a brother and sister-inlaw; Jack Scimeca & wife Judy of Baton Rouge, 4 grandchildren; Kristen Ashley McDonald, Austin Frank McDonald, Tyler Glenn Duncan, and Madison Leigh Horne, 3 brothers-in-law; Cliff & wife Bonnie Hurst, Roger & wife Linda Kay Hurst, and Bill & wife Pat Hurst, and sister-in-law; Dorothy Devall He was preceded in death by his daughter; Carmen Scimeca Rochester, and his parents; Frank & Helen Scimeca. Cook, Redina "Dina", a native of Maringouin, LA passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at her residence in Knoxville, TN. She was 38 and a graduate of Zachary High School and she served in the U.S. Air Force. Visiting will be Thursday, July 19, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church at 10870 Lovett Rd., Central LA, conducted by Rev. Larry Fetterolf followed by a 1:00 p.m. graveside service at Rosedale Cemetery. She is survived by one daughter, Mackenzie Everett of Knoxville, TN, mother and step-father, Beverly and Larry Fetterolf of Central, father and step-mother, Warren and Annette Cook of Maringouin, four sisters, Tammy Cook, Melissa and Melanie Fetterolf and Donna Sellars two brothers, Lee Jones and wife Elizabeth, and Johnny Torres, and 4 nephews and 2 nieces. She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents. Pallbearers will be Lee Jones, Leo Le- Jeune, Rodney Fetterolf, Casey Fetterolf, Kenneth Higginbotham and Ethan Cook.

Tangi A. Old Bear "NaNa", 39, a resident of Slaughter, LA, died on Monday, July 16, 2012 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. Visitation will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary on Friday, July 20, 2012 from 5pm until 8pm and then on Saturday, July 21, 2012 from 9am until services at 10am. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Baker. She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Sidney Old Bear; one daughter, Jenna Marie Old Bear; one son, Brennon Joseph Old Bear; her mother, Jeannie Matte; and her sister Bridgett Elaine Albritton- King and her husband Sam King of Slaughter, LA. She was preceded in death by her father, Billy Joe Albritton. Pallbearers will be Larry Haily, Damon Old Bear, Frank Maddie III, Mark Matte, Sam King, and her loving husband Sidney Old Bear. She was a woman who was dedicated to her kids and her animals. Her home was always an open, welcome place. She leaves behind a large number of friends who loved her.
