Brianna Elizabeth Reeves Barnett, safe in the arms of Jesus, was born Monday, April 7, 2003, and died at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2003, at Woman's Hospital in Baton Rouge.
Visiting at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, Friday, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Visiting in the funeral home chapel from 10 a.m. until religious service at 1 p.m. Saturday, conducted by Dr. Richard Blue.
Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park, Denham Springs.
She is survived by her parents, Tracy L. and Daniel I. Barnett, Denham Springs; a brother, Nicholas Michael Rhodes, Denham Springs; maternal grandmother, Mary Morgan, Sheffield, Ala.; paternal grandparents, Elton I. and Shirley Barnett, Walker; and an aunt, Dana Barnett, Baton Rouge.

FUSSELL, GRACE ELEANOR
A resident of Amite, she died at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2003, at Tangi-Pines Nursing Home in Amite.
She was 83 and a native of Baton Rouge.
Visiting at St. Helena Catholic Church, Amite, from 10 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Jack Nutter. Interment in Amite Memorial Gardens.
Survived by her husband of 40 years, Clyde A. Fussell, Amite; two sons, John Griggs, Fairmont, W.Va., and Thomas Griggs, Greenwell Springs; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by a sister, Alice M. Rice; father, Allen Worden Prescott; and mother, Alice Mears Prescott.
McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, in charge of arrangements.

BEACHER, CAMILLA
A homemaker, she died Thursday, April 10, 2003, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Gonzales.
She was 89 and a native and resident of Napoleonville.
Visiting at Williams & Southall Funeral Home, Napoleonville, from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday.
Visiting at Evening Star Baptist Church, Napoleonville, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Junious Thompson.
Burial in church cemetery.
Survived by 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her husband, Ben Beacher; a daughter, Albertine Haley; a sister, Mable Johnson; and three brothers, Albert, Ridley and Eddie Johnson.
She was a longtime member of Evening Star Baptist Church, where she served as mother of the church.

HOLDEN, STANLEY
He died Thursday, April 10, 2003, at Summit Hospital, Baton Rouge, at age 92.
Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday.
Visiting at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until service at noon Saturday.
Interment in Zoar Baptist Church Cemetery.

BROWN, JR. DAVE "UNCLE DAVE"
Retired from the physical plant at LSU and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 1:45 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2003, at his home.
He was 72.
Visiting at Desselle Funeral Home from 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2003, until religious service at 1 p.m., conducted by Anthony Hookfin, minister.
Interment in Lutheran Cemetery.
Survived by three daughters, Debra, Lena Lynette and Wanda; four sons, Anthony, William, Kenneth and Dave DeWayne; three sisters, Rosa Brown Carter, Louella Black and Mamie Toussaint; three brothers, Dalton Benton, Jr., James Benton and Isadore Benton; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Hookfin Brown; mother, Sophia J. Benton; stepfather, Dalton Benton, Sr.; father, Dave Brown, Sr.; and two brothers, Louis C. and Leo S. Brown.
Pallbearers will be David Franklin, David, Keith and Shaun Williams, Ronald Thomas and Quinton Gibson.
Honorary pallbearers are Don and Michael Miller, Raymond Brooks, William and Kenneth Womack, Dave DeWayne Brown, Anthony Hookfin and Robert Harris.
He enjoyed fishing.

CAVALIER, LYDIE ALBARADO
A homemaker and resident of D'Ville House Nursing Home in Donaldsonville, she died at 1:40 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 2003, in Donaldsonville.
She was 92 and a native and former resident of Brusly-St. Martin.
Visiting at Ourso Funeral Home, Donaldsonville, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
Mass of Christian Burial at Brusly-St. Martin Chapel, Brusly-St. Martin, at 11 a.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Gary Belsome.
Interment in church cemetery.
Survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Anna and Simon Charlet, Brusly-St. Martin; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband, Ulysse Joseph Cavalier; two sons, Clarence and Hubert Cavalier; two daughters, Clemence Charlet and Angelina Landry; and three brothers, Edmond, Clement "Cop" and Reno Cavalier.

CURRY, LUCILLE COMEIA "L.C."
"The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want; he makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters; he restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; they rod and thy staff, they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; thou anointest my head with oil, my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever."
A devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he died at home surrounded by family on Wednesday morning, April 9, 2003.
He was 71 and a resident of Baker.
He was a retired pipe fitter and a member of Plumbers & Steamfitters Union Local 198, and a former U.S. Navy reservist.
He was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Baker.
Visiting was at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.
Visiting in the funeral home chapel from 10 a.m. until religious service at 1 p.m. Friday, conducted by the Rev. Odus Jackson and the Rev. Jerry Potts.
Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
Survived by his wife, Sarah Elizabeth "Beth" James Curry; two daughters, Pam Kimball and Lynne Allen; sons-in-law, Charles Kimball and Dr. Rickey Allen; grandchildren, Jennifer Balisteri and husband, Martin, Joshua Allen, Jason Brown and wife, Aimee, Leanne Troyer and husband, Patrick, and Allison Kimball; great-grandchildren, Peyton and Parker Balisteri and Lana Brown; sisters, Laverne Armand, Auve Perry, Delores Day, Sandra Goldman, D'Juana Lanning, Marjorie Dalby, Brenda Marinello and Cornelia Johnson; a brother, Larry Lanning; and stepmother, Ima Curry.
Preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and a great-grandchild, Cullen Comeia Allen.
Special thanks are extended to the Renal Associate doctors, Dr. Luscy, BMA Airport nurses and technicians and Trinity Hospice.

DORÉ, MARY DEZ
Mary Dez Doré, née Kelone, a longtime resident of Alexandria, died in Houston on Tuesday, April 8, 2003, at the age of 86.
She was a graduate of Touro Infirmary School of Nursing and retired as nursing supervisor at Pincrest State Hospital.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Anna Margaret DeLaune and Patrick Delaune of Houston; sons and a daughter-in-law, Neil Doré, Jr. of Boston and James and Mercedes Doré of Plaquemine; grandchildren, Katherine DeLaune, Jennifer Daniels, Patrick DeLaune, Ann Mercedes Dooley, and Seámas and Logan Doré; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Brandon Daniels and Parker DeLaune; and sisters, Lorene Hickcox of Shreveport and Nina Boyles of Birmingham, Ala.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hipolyte and Maude Cox Kelone; and sisters, Margaret Viger and Liane Jamison.
Mary requested that her body be donated to Baylor School of Medicine.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia Society of America or a local hospice foundation.

DOSS, BESSIE M. "LIL' GAL"
A retired custodian at LSU Residential Life and a resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 11:45 a.m. Friday, April 4, 2003, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was 75 and a native of Slaughter.
Visiting at Desselle Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2003.
Religious service at New St. Luke Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Joseph Armstrong.
Interment in Greater Philadelphia Baptist Church, Slaughter.
Survived by five daughters, Jerry Foreman, Sedonia Ringo and Cynthia Doss, all of Baton Rouge, Ella M. Jetson of Pomona, Calif., and Patricia Scott of Houston; four sons, Tonnie Doss and wife, Kate, and Jimmie Doss, Jr., all of Baton Rouge, and Lee Andrew Ringo and David O'Neal Ringo and wife, Louise, all of Houston; five sisters, Elnora Grey, Alaza Myles and Bythella Johnson, all of Baton Rouge, Gladys Dukes and husband, Monroe of New Orleans, and Hazel Stimely and husband, Bernard of Cleveland; five brothers, Henry, Clarence and Ledell and wife, Josie Bell Myles, all of Baton Rouge, and Matthew and wife, Ida Mae and Robert Myles, all of Slaughter; 40 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Doss; parents, Dave and Lou Myles; a sister, Doretha Jackson; a brother, Samuel Myles; and a granddaughter, Martina Ringo.

GILCHRIST, AMANDA MIRE
A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Amanda Mire Gilchrist passed away Thursday, April 10, 2003, at her home in Port Allen.
She was 75.
Visitation at Wilbert Funeral Home, Plaquemine, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday.
Visitation at the funeral home from 8 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Whitney Granger.
Entombment in Grace Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Survived by her husband of 57 years, Ray Gilchrist, Sr.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Anita Gilchrist, their children, Harold, Eric, Rachael and Jon, and their grandchildren, Blake and Mia, and Ray, Jr. and Sue Gilchrist, and their children, Laurie Beth, Jenny and Dr. Heidi Gilchrist of New Orleans; a daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Tod Hamilton, their children, Darolyn, Lindy, Colin and Nick, and their grandchildren, Payton and Madison.
Pallbearers will be Harold Stecker, Eric Gilchrist, Jacob Barbier, Ronnie Smith, Jeff Heidingsfelder and Colin Hamilton.
Honorary pallbearers are Wallace Diamond, Bud Mire and Marvin Pierce.
Amanda was a member of First Baptist Church of Port Allen and Order of the Eastern Star No. 121 of Port Allen.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
