Doris Fay Baham
Doris Fay "Teeny" Baham, a resident of Magnolia Health and Rehabilitation Center went to be with her Lord and love ones on January 15, 2013 at 2:15 pm. She was born and raised in Livingston Parish at Doyle, Louisiana, to the late J.D. and Mildred McDonald on October 13, 1927. Preceded in death by her parents, one brother Delphine (Don) McDonald, two husbands the Rev. A. Newman Sullivan, Sr., and Alvin Baham, one son Lonnie Sullivan, one grandson James Byron Sullivan, one great-grandson Antoine Wilson "Wil" Albin and beloved son-in-law Lansing Albin. Teeny was a member of Doyle Baptist Church in Livingston and loved her family and friends very much. She is survived by one daughter Faye Yvonne S. Albin of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; one son Newman "Bubba" Sullivan, Jr. and wife, Anne Marie of Holden, Louisiana; four grandchildren, Jonathan Sullivan, Chad and Dee Dee Sullivan, Stephanie and Kenneth Guidry all of Holden, Antoine and Ashley Albin of Mt. Pleasant; ten great-grandchildren, Cole Sullivan, Tyler Sullivan, Cameron Sullivan, Hunter Guidry, Ethan Guidry, Derek and Ashley Guidry all of Holden, Lindsey Albin, Samuel Albin of Magnolia; Rachel Albin, Lance Albin of Mt. Pleasant; two great-great-grandchildren, Brennan Guidry, Isabelle Guidry of Holden; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends. Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2013 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Seale Funeral Home in Livingston, Louisiana followed with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. with her nephew, Rev. Carl Edward Sullivan. Burial will follow at Old Red Oak Cemetery under the direction of Seale Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Antoine Albin, Chad Sullivan, Cole Sullivan, Tyler Sullivan, Jonathan Sullivan, Kenneth Guidry, Derek Guidry, Hunter Guidry. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Old Red Oak Cemetery, c/o Bonnie S. Gibbs, P.O. Box 242, Livingston, Louisiana 70754.

Emoor Samuel "Sam" Bordelon, Jr.
A Funeral Mass will be conducted for Emoor Samuel (Sam) Bordelon, Jr. on Friday, January 18, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. at St. John Vianney Catholic Church with Fr. Tom Ranzino officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. A party in celebration of his life will be held immediately following the Mass. A private burial service for family members will be conducted in Greenoaks Memorial Park at a later date. Sam was born on May 9, 1931, the son of Emoor S. Bordelon, Sr. and Catherine Mary Mayeux. He passed away at age 81 at Ollie Steele Burden Manor on Monday, January, 14, 2013 after a brief illness. Sam lived a truly Christian life in the service of others. After graduating from Catholic High School in Baton Rouge in 1948, he became a Brother of the Sacred Heart and taught school in Alexandria, Donaldsonville, Thibodaux and Mobile. He then yearned for a greater spiritual life, and became a Dominican monk entering an abbey in Alabama. After a number of years, health reasons forced him to leave the abbey, after which he accepted a teaching position in Soda Springs, Idaho, where he taught school for 32 years. He retired in 1993, and returned to Baton Rouge to care for his mother during the last years of her life. For the past 20 years, he has been a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church and was involved in many ministries, always promoting the love of God. Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Emoor and Catherine Bordelon, and his sister, Ann Marie Zachary. He is survived by his brother, Jerry M. Bordelon & wife, Rose of Covington, WA; his sister, Mary Catherine Garon and husband, Dr. Joseph Alvin Garon of Reserve, LA; his beloved cousin, Mrs. Diane Bezdek of Greenwell Springs, LA; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family wishes to extend our sincerest gratitude to Dr. Patrick Gahan and his staff, nurses and staff at Ollie Steele Burden Manor and the Hospice of Baton Rouge for their loving care in his final days. He was a blessing to us all, and will be sorely missed. Rabenhorst East, 11000 Florida Boulevard, Baton Rouge, is in charge of final arrangements. It is the wish of the family that, in lieu of flowers, a memorial donation be made to Hospice of Baton Rouge, 9063 Siegen Lane, Baton Rouge, LA 70810.

Leonce Joseph Bourgeois
Leonce Joseph Bourgeois retired from Gillis W. Long Hansen's Disease Center with 40+ years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. A resident and native of St. Amant, LA. He died at 8:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at Gonzales Healthcare Center. He was 84. Visiting at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Amant, LA on Friday, January 18, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial, at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Father Jon Koehler. Entombment in Holy Rosary Mausoleum. He is survived by his daughter, Darlene Bourgeois; son-in-law, Leroy J. Lambert, Sr.; two granddaughters and their husbands, Tammy and Stan Cain and Tanya and Scotty Labauve; a grandson, Lee J. Lambert, Jr.; five great-grandchildren, Auburn and Erin Cain; Karli, Kendall and Trey Labauve; a sister, Ann Carbo; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Addie Duplessis Bourgeois; his parents Arthur and Ida Lanoux Bourgeois; and a brother, Francis J. Bourgeois. Pallbearers will be Lee J. Lambert, Jr.; Scotty and Trey Labauve; Austin, Dale and Dennis Carbo. Honorary Pallbearers are Tyler Garza; Pamela and Seth Carbo. Special thanks to all his caregivers at Gonzales Heathcare Center; Hospice caregivers of SouthernCare, Inc. and his doctors, Dr. Narra and Dr. Rovira. Ascension Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Robert Louis Bowsher
Robert Louis Bowsher died peacefully on December 29, 2012 at St. James Place. He was born on May 21, 1914 in Wapakoneta, Ohio, to Francis Jacob Bowsher and Louise Fisher Bowsher. His family owned a hardware and farm supply business, which once employed Neil Armstrong, the astronaut, as a teenage clerk. As a student at Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio, during the Depression, Bob worked his way through college at a variety of jobs including washing dishes and selling tennis equipment. After his graduation in 1936, he worked in sales for Container Corporation of America. Aside from his military service, he remained with the company over 30 years, retiring in 1977 as the general manager of its corrugated box plant in Cincinnati, Ohio. In 1940, he married his wife of 59 years, Gene Lois Troxel. During World War II, Bob was an officer in the Navy's Armed Guard, in charge of the armaments on armed transport vessels. He served on the oil tanker, the Gulf Pride, and participated in the first successful convoy to Murmansk, Russia. Between 1977 and 1998, Bob and Gene split their time between Cincinnati and Naples, Florida, moving to Baton Rouge in 1998 to be near their son and his family. Bob was a devoted golfer, sports aficionado, passionate reader and lover of travel. He and his wife travelled throughout the world, visiting Mexico, Europe, Africa, India, Japan and Southeast Asia. On a trip to Africa, Bob and Gene were trapped in the Hilton Hotel in Kampala, Uganda for three days during Idi Amin's coup in 1971. In addition to his parents and his wife, Bob was preceded in death by his younger brother, Mark Bowsher. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Robert T. Bowsher and Linda Helland Bowsher; granddaughters, Julia Hadfield Bowsher and her husband, Sean Richard Burt, of Fargo, North Dakota, and Emily Collins Bowsher and her husband, Charles David Cash, of Highland Park, New Jersey; and great-granddaughters, Helen Bowsher Burt and Judith Louise Burt. The Family wishes to thank the staffs of the Health and Wellness Center and the Companion Services at St. James Place for their loving care during his last illness. Visitation will be held at St. James Episcopal Church, 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 18, until services at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. James Place Foundation, 333 Lee Drive, Baton Rouge, LA 70808, or St. James Episcopal Church, 205 North 4th Street, Baton Rouge, LA 70801.

Anderson Bruno, Sr. went home to be the Lord on Tuesday, January 15, 2013.

Susan Naomi Edkin "Sue" Burtner
Sue was born June 13, 1931 in Tulsa, OK, to Eldon Paul Edkin and Naomi Minnis Edkin. She was a proud member of the Will Rogers High School 49ers class. Following graduation, she attended Tulsa University and Oklahoma A&M; She enjoyed the sisterhood in Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority while at Tulsa University. In 1951, she married Gerald "Jerry" Gene Burtner in a double wedding ceremony with her sister Ruth Edkin to Robert Pitcher. Sue and Jerry began their married life in San Antonio, TX, at Lackland Air Force Base. They returned to Tulsa, for two years before moving to Charleston, WV, where she served as a foster parent to several children and soon fulfilled her lifetime dream of becoming a mother to 2 children. Moves to Ashland, KY, and New Orleans, LA, followed before settling in Baton Rouge. In 1981, she joined her husband in opening their business, Power Cleaning Specialists, Inc., and continued to serve as secretary-treasurer until her illness in 2007. Her compassion for her friends, neighbors, co-workers and family was exemplified by the generous sacrifice of her time and acts of kindness. As time permitted, she enjoyed working in her garden, baking, sewing, reading, studying the stock market and traveling. She found joy in honest hard work, thriftiness, great conversation, a neat closet, delicious food, brightening a stranger's day, reunions in Tulsa, finding the perfect purse and shoes, Easter Sunday and a really great sale. She passed away peacefully on January 16th (2013) at the age of 81. She leaves behind a loving family and dear friends who supported her throughout. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Gerald "Jerry" Gene Burtner; a daughter, Sally Ann Burtner Bourgeois and husband, Doss, of Houston, TX; a son, Steven Paul Burtner and wife, Margaret, of Watson, LA, a sister, Ruth Van Fossen, of Billings, MT, 5 grandchildren, William, Ashley and Cameron Burtner, Kady Bourgeois Van Hook, and husband, James, and Jena Bourgeois Hogan and husband, Geoffrey; a great-grandson, Dylan Moore; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street, Saturday, January 19 from 9 a.m. until memorial services at 11 a.m.

A resident of Baton Rouge, he died on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013.
He was 32.

Maggie Mullins Dantzler
Maggie Mullins Dantzler passed away on January 14, 2013, on Frank's birthday.
Mom went home to join her beloved husband of 52 years and their son, Ed.
She leaves behind a daughter, Ann; adopted daughter, Wanda McMahon; grandchildren, Jeanne, Jeri Ayn Malina and husband, Jason, Tanya and Garrett; numerous brothers, sisters, in-laws, nieces, nephews and many loving friends.
Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, Thursday, January 17, 2013 from 9am until funeral service at 10am.
Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.

Valerie Davis
A resident of Baton Rouge and native of White Castle, she passed away Monday, Jan. 14, 2013 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center.
She was 49.
Visiting at St. Paul Catholic Church, 3912 Gus Young Ave., Friday, Jan. 18 from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.
Interment in Southern Memorial Gardens.
She is survived by her husband, Willard Davis, Sr.; daughter, Nicollette Davis; son, Willard Davis, Jr.; sister, Joycelyn Foster Price; three brothers, Dwain Foster, Herbert Foster, Jr. and Labon P. Foster; and beloved nieces and nephews, Elijah Davis, Patrick Simmons, Jr. and Zahyia Simmons.

JEANERETTE - Services for Darryl A. Landry, 64, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church.
Burial will follow in Beau Pre Cemetery under direction of David Funeral Home.

He died Wednesday at Iberia Medical Center.
