A native and resident of St. James, she died at 8:54 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Gonzales.
She was 70.
Visiting at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, St. James, from 3 p.m. until religious services at 7 p.m. Friday, conducted by the Rev. Samuel Jones.
Dismissal service on Saturday at 11 a.m.
Burial in church cemetery.
Survived by her husband, Oliver Cooper, Sr., St. James; seven daughters, Veronica Taylor, Stephanie and Melissa Cooper, Paula Link and Patricia White, all of St. James, Betty Harris of St. Rose and Alfrenetta Cooper of Severa, Md.; five sons, the Rev. Marshall Cooper, Sr., Convent, John and Clyde Cooper, Sr., both of St. James, the Rev. Oliver Cooper, Jr. of Lynwood, Calif., and Rory Cooper of Alamitos, Calif.; four sisters, Stella Harris and Rita Henry, both of Donaldsonville, Lorenza Steib of Vacherie and Nellie Ester of St. James; two brothers, the Rev. Sidney Jones, Sr. and Louis Jones, Jr., both of St. James; two sons-in-law, Michael Link and Nelson Harris; four daughters-in-law, Derline, Deborah, Yvette and Yolanda Cooper; 22 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, Louis Jones, Sr. and Florence Scieneaux Jones; a son, Tyrone Cooper; a daughter, Paulette Cooper; and two sisters, Odeal Harris and Onita Gipson.

LaPlace, and Gina Cheveallier, all of Baton Rouge; five step-grandchildren, Shelley and Jarrod Tramonte, Blake and Ryan Siemann, and Brett Cheveallier; many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by first wife, Lily Bonin Couvillier [Cuvillier]; two sons, Billy and Camile [Comile], Jr.; father and mother, Aristele [Aristle] and Camillia Cavalier Couvillier; three brothers, Anos [A.J., Augustile J.], J.C. and James Couvillier [Cuvillier]; and four sisters, Rita and Celeste Couvillier [Cuvillier], Lola Richard and Addie Eva Rousseau.

He was 77 and a native of Newark, N.J.

She was 77.
