KOEHL, JOHN B.
A retired instructor with the math department at LSU and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 3:45 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, in Baton Rouge. He was 57 and a native of Huntsville, Texas. Visiting at St. Alban's Chapel Fellowship Hall from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday. Religious service was at Pine Prairie Baptist Church, Huntsville, Texas, at 11 a.m. Friday. Survived by his wife, Nancy Koehl; a son, Wesley Koehl; a sister, Laurette Springmann; and two brothers, Fred Koehl and Curtis Koehl. Preceded in death by his mother, Opal Atkinson; and father, Ira Koehl. He received his undergraduate and master's degrees from Sam Houston State University and performed his post-graduate work at New Mexico State and Rutgers University. He began teaching at LSU in 1976. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations in memory of John Koehl to the American Diabetes Association.

A homemaker and resident of Plaquemine, she died at 5:45 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, in Plaquemine. She was 88 and a native of White Castle. Preceded in death by her husband, Etienne LeBlanc, Sr.; a son, Jerry LeBlanc; two infant children; a grandson, Steve Randazzo; parents, Biem and Olevie Callegan Gomez; five sisters, Ida Dugas, Bertha Settoon, Bessie Ourso, Ester Falcon and Beulah Cedotal; and two brothers, Foster and Freddie Gomez. A retired dentist and a resident of Baton Rouge since 1938, he died Friday, Dec. 13, 2002, at his home. He was 89 and a native of New Orleans. Floyd Lobell of Livingston passed away Friday, Dec. 13, 2002, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Baton Rouge, at the age of 85. He was a native of New Orleans. MARTIN, SR. ALVIN DOYLE
He joined Esso Refinery in 1936 and retired from Exxon Chemical Co. in 1976 after 40 years of service as an operations supervisor. During his career he successfully helped startup chemical operations at refineries in Venezuela, Germany, Australia and Sardinia. A resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 12:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, at Lakewood Quarters. He was 91 and a native of Hope Villa. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., from 1 p.m. until religious service in the chapel at 3 p.m. Monday. Entombment in Resthaven Mausoleum. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Gwin Martin, Baton Rouge; a son and daughter-in-law, Alvin Doyle, Jr. and Linda Faye Martin, Naples, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. J.B. Hester, Memphis, Tenn.; grandchildren, Aric Doyle Martin, Ashley Blair Martin and Stephanie Gail Roberts; and great-grandchildren, Sara Ruth and Megan Gail Brandenstein. Preceded in death by his first wife, Eunice Brown Martin; a daughter and son, Lola Gail and John Adrian; a sister, Irma Lee Johnson; and parents, Henry Doyle and Edna Lee Dixon Martin. He graduated from 7th Ward High School, now Woodlawn High School, in 1928, and graduated from LSU with a Bachelor of Arts degree in agriculture in 1934. He was a member of Milford Lodge 117, F&AM;, Northeast Lodge 435, F&AM;, Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Acacia Temple of the Shrine, Fleur de Lis Exxon Annuitant Club, and Parkview Baptist Church and its Fellowship Bible Study Group.
