A resident of Oakland, Calif., and a native of Carville, she died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002, in Oakland. She was 71. Visiting at Mount Bethel Baptist Church, Carville, from 11:30 a.m. until eulogy at 1 p.m. Wednesday, delivered by the Rev. Alfred Thomas. Interment in church cemetery. Survived by her husband, Robert L. Humphrey; a daughter, Ethel M. Trujillo; a son, Clarence Jenkins, Jr.; four stepchildren, Sheila Johnson, Clementine Green, Gealyn Dylan Ponders and Patricia Berkley; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, 11 sisters, five brothers and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. JOHNSON, WILLIAM "ANDY"
A resident of Las Vegas, who lived most of his life in Baton Rouge, he died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2002, in Las Vegas. He was 26 and a native of Pennsylvania. Visiting at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday. Religious service in the funeral home chapel at 10 a.m. Saturday. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. A loving son, grandson and brother, he is survived by mother, Gene Ory Ducote and husband, Kenneth; father, Gordon Johnson and wife, Ginger; maternal grandparents, Eugene and Norma Ory; a sister, Cheryl Muri and husband, Brett; three brothers, Robert Johnson and wife, Gabby, Scott Johnson and wife, Shelley, and Ted Johnson and wife, Linda; two stepsisters, Rosemary and Edith Servin; four stepbrothers, Kendall Ducote and wife, Jaime, Anthony and Joseph Servin and Jeffrey Ducote; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. LANDRY, PATRICK "VAUGHN"
A senior computer consultant with Covansys and a resident of Houston, he died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002, at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital, Houston, of cancer. He was 35 and a native of Baton Rouge. Visiting was at Green-oaks Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Visiting at the funeral home chapel from noon until religious service at 2 p.m. Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. Carey Froelich. Survived by his wife, Aura Machado Landry; father and mother, Patrick and Cindy Landry; two daughters, Victoria and Estefania Perez; two sisters, Jeanne and husband, Patrick Fellows, and Cynthia and husband, Shane Sandefer; grandfather, Charles Vaughn Blankenship; and three nieces, Paige Virginia Fellows, Brianna Carolina Rojas and Hannah Marie Gil. Preceded in death by his grandparents, Lauve and Lucy Landry, who were of Lettsworth, and Gene Blankenship, who was of Bunkie. Pallbearers will be Ray Eric Ferrell, Patrick Fellows, Shane Sandefer, Gabriel Rojas, Rafael Rojas and Cesar Rodriguez. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Greg Galler, Roger Herzog, Michael McNab and Brett Gautreaux. He graduated from LSU with a Bachelor of Arts degree in languages and an MBA. He also studied at Universidad de Andes in Colombia, South America, and the University of Costa Rica in San Jose. Vaughn enjoyed traveling and had a true love of snowskiing. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 4 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, at her home. She was 84 and a native of Independence. Visitation at St. Patrick Catholic Church from 8 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. She is survived by her husband, of 65 years, Frank Angelo Levatino; four children, Donald, Sam and Frankie Levatino and Vicki Levatino Mouch; a daughter-in-law, JoAnn Vince Levatino; a son-in-law, Kenneth Mouch; grandchildren, Britani, Brady and Kristina Mouch, Chas and Tena Levatino Roemer, Dr. David and Dr. Angelle Levatino Berry, Vita Levatino of Washington, D.C., Joseph and Katie of Levatino of New Orleans, Lisa and Mindy Levatino, Shawn and Michelle Lynam and Michael Champagne; great-grandchildren, Adeline Roemer, Jared Levatino, and Benjamin and Jane Lynam; and a brother, Jack Cristina. A homemaker and resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25, 2002, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Mid City. She was 77 and a native of New Orleans. PATIN, MARIE E. (SISTER MARY FLORITA, MSSA)
A member of the Missionaries of St. Anthony community and a resident of Gonzales, she died at 4:50 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002, at St. Clare Manor in Baton Rouge. She was 80 and a native of New Roads. Visiting was at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Visiting at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church, Gonzales, from 8 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Wednesday, celebrated by the Rev. Phillip Spano. Graveside service at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Cemetery, Lakeland, at noon Wednesday. She is survived by two brothers, Cecil J. Patin, Sr., Denham Springs, and Albert L. Patin of Baton Rouge; a sister, Rita Patin Beauchamp of Baton Rouge; an aunt, Albertine Swindler of Ventress; and numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, great-grandnieces and great-grand-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis A. and Flavie Hebert Patin; a sister, Emma Marie Patin; and a brother, Louis A. Patin, Jr. She joined the Missionaries of St. Anthony community in San Antonio at an early age. After 20 years she returned to Baton Rouge, where she taught school for a couple of years at St. Anthony of Padua School. She left St. Anthony's and went to Brazil to again do missionary work. After leaving Brazil she went back to her home parish of St. Anthony and became director of religious education until she left to do missionary work in Crow Agency, Mont. She came back to Louisiana and went to work for St. Theresa of Avila parish in Gonzales, where she was involved with C.C.D. and also started the children's church. In her later years before she retired she visited and took communion to the homebound and to those in hospitals and nursing homes. Her family would like to thank the staff of St. Clare Manor for taking such wonderful care of her. Special thanks to Tom and Jennifer at the manor and Francie Pope, R.N., of Hospice of Baton Rouge. A resident of Dallas, she died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002, in Dallas. She was 80 and a native of Maringouin.
